  1. Again, many thanks for your help with this. (I also feel privilaged that someone of Jack57s modding ability hs taken the time to read this post (Jack57 - Thankyou for some seriously good mods!!!)) Right, thats the butt kissing done; For the record, I do have IT and DS up and running as active mods and GR is patched to v1.4 it is also a fairly fresh installation of the game because I thought that something might get fixed if I tried that... Here is the IKE file - If I am reading it right, apparently I am missing a few files?! Is this right? and where can I get those files from?!? The British Infantry mod has a patch which I have already installed (so its version 1.2) Thanks, Alex ***** User's system configuration ***** CPU: GenuineIntel 2670 MHz Pentium 4 RAM: 1024 MB O/S: Microsoft Windows 2000 5.1 Service Pack 1 build 2600 Ghost Recon (RELEASE) version = 1.4.0.0(0) RSDisplayMgr::CreateGameWindow: Creating a 1024x768 window at 0,0 on monitor NEC MultiSync 77F attached to NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X RSDisplayMgr::CreateGameWindow: Game running on primary display NEC MultiSync 77F attached to NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X HAL (hw vp): NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X R5G6B5 RSFILEDATA: FindFile could not find file ike_fx_fire_type2.tga RSFILEDATA: FindFile could not find file ike_fx_fire_type2.rsb Unable to find ike_fx_fire_type2.tga anywhere. 2. Thanks for the respones - the few ideas you've given me sound far more productive than my usual swearing-at-the-computer-until-it-submits-and-starts-working method I've been employing in the last few days. I'll post the IKE.log tonight when I get home... Cheers, Alex
  3. I need help from the GR.net collective; I repeatedly suffer crash to desktop failures when running various mods and its starting to get a tad annoying; Right now, I just have the two mission packs and Chems British Infantry mod (with patch1.2) active (with Chems mod the as highest priority) but am suffering CTDs when starting mission 2's briefing: (and I am current with GR v1.4) A typical log file states that its always an access violation. (see typical log below!) Can anyone make any sense of this failure and how I could possible stop the CTDs?!? I would really appreciate any assistance from anyone - All I want to do is shoot bad guys!! Thanks, Alex IKECrash log: GhostRecon caused an Access Violation in module GhostRecon.exe at 001b:004db69c. 4. Just completed Operation Snake Strike - Great Mod and I'm now chomping at the bit to get on with the other missions! (BTW: In Operation Snake Strike but did anyone else have issues with the game dying on them when they quick-loaded on the second to last mission (B'n'R)?!, or was it just me?? Also the mission to defend the line against wave after wave of Iraqis was just frickin awesome....) Bring on Operation After Shock!!!!!
  5. Its been a little over a year since I joined the ghostrecon.net party after buying my first home PC and bringing home a single game for it - GR gold edition - on the recommendation of work collegues. One year on, GR is still the only game I own and play almost daily. I completed all the original missions a long time ago, but thanks to Sixpence and the whole modding community this game just never ever gets old. Cutting to the chase - I just wanted say thanks for an awesome mod - ORJ is just a fantastic piece of work and please keep them coming.
  6. I have been playing around with the Firefight Quick Missions, and if I select any of the 5 maps named DP01 through DP05 (Stronghold, Farm Day, Creekbed, Ravine, etc..) the game just crashes out back to my desktop screen. I have DS and IT as the only mods enabled and all the patches installed... Anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong or what these maps are ?! Thanks for any assistance. Dangerous.
  7. Sixpences British Royal Marines 2.0 and Parachute Regiment (Great fo DS) are both pretty good mods... shame about the american accents of the soldiers !!
  8. Has anyone ever had trouble capturing the russian general guy in the swamp mission (its in the original GR missions, where you have three "islands" to clear of bad boys). I've cleared the eastern island (where the general is) but left him there gone on to clear the western island, but when I go back and run up to the Russian general and "bump" him (because it says right here in the instruction manual to bump into people to capture them) the butt-monkey starts shooting and usually wastes the guy I send in to get him. I've tried clearing the northern island before going to capture him, but it then tells me that the mission is then complete.... I've also tried to disable the general by sniping his weapon and shooting him in the leg then trying the capture him. Niether or those worked... Am I missing something?? (and on another topic - do NOT get me started on the idiot tanks that start chugging along up the streets and into villages before you've had time to reccey and secure the area - the game has the cheek to BLAME me when I get ###### with them for driving off to early and I destroy them myself.....!!!!)
  9. Thanks for the welcome !! Been toying with adding a couple of mods in the last few days... oh man, thats addictive stuff - surprised there are no government campaigns to ban this stuff !!
  10. Bought my first PC a week ago and only just started playing GR on Friday... Now suffering eye strain from playing too much. Can't move my men backwards as a piece of rock hard pizza crust got stuck under the "S" key. I think the wife left me over the weekend, and I really should save my progress and take a shower....!! All this, and I still haven't even touched the two expansion packs... What a top game !
