  1. GR and DS work flawless, as with every mod I've added and removed. The IT mod causes normal faces, white terrain and clothes, large and "blocky" graphics. Totally playable, but can't see where doors, drop offs, etc. are until you are in them. I have uninstalled many times (complete I hope) and reinstalled. cornfused!

  2. Okay, Prophet- I hopped into add/remove (just to make sure before swearing I had looked ;) and there is no ghost recon program listed. Not even any of the related names like red storm, tom clancy, etc.

Why that be isnt an answer from me.

Pretty confused. I know that some other non-paying boot-leggers of the game have had similar issues, maybe as yet another form of copy protection, but I layed down them ducats all fair and square.

    Oh, SGT CROC...

Not blaming you at all on this but when I worked on the regedit keys I had an "extremely" similar incident to some of the other multi-play people that were concerned of hackers out there. the difference is I was not in MP mode.

    symptoms:

    1. Blue screened error

    2. CTRL/ALT/DEL inoperable (until 2 consecutive COLD boots later)

    3. Lost identification of master dvd-rom drive (only comes up as a microsoft generic cd-rom) and still cant repair

    4. game seemed to lock and auto-reboot, but I was in mid process of removing and reinstalling anyway

None of those symptoms seem terribly critical until noticing in the other posts that the virus program is the same as mine- Norton autovirus 2002.

The autodetect mode was off trying to set up a MP game as LAN thru microsoft router, crap5e wire and DSL modem. incompatibility issue or virus?

    AMD XP2100+

    K7s5s board

    40 gig western digital

    NVIDEA Ge Force 440 (?)

I can still play my registered game,

    Thanks!

I can still fully play my registered game, just can't get the thing for the price of dirt

    Thanks!

  4. Okay, I think that it's finally clearing up for me. Best that I can guess is that my GR installer program is corrupt. Reason for this result? I don't have any install or uninstall info for the program. It runs excellent otherwise, but the installer program seems kaput.

Yes, this is full retail version. I hit up UBI, and the only suggestion from them was to reinstall. Been there...you know the rest...

so I'm stuck with a bum copy as I'm past the 90 day period. Any more tips on this?

  5. when I try to apply a patch (any patch at all) I receive the following message:

"Ghost Recon needs to be installed before applying this patch. Setup will now exit"

The game does work, is store bought, been removed/cold booted/reinstalled multiple ways and times, and still get message above. I would appreciate any help at all with this. The program is even in the default folder location, and I only have 1 drive so it's not trying for the "slave" or anything like that.

    gettin a bit frustrated... :wall:

  6. I am trying to get the updates (patches) for GR to work, but whenever I try, it tells me GR is not installed. I have tried from their default folder, temp folder, new location, etc. and the message still comes up. And yes, the game works fine.

do I have the right patches? where would have the patches other than this site's downloads? A little confusing to pick the right version from such a long list!

    Thx.
