I dunno about graw2, but in graw you could shoot down choppers with assault rifles.
-
Kinda off topic but I can't help but ask - in the Spanish version, isn't it weird if the ghosts speak Spanish and so do the Mexicans?\
Kinda like my my Austrian friend who said it was so weird playing games like Medal of Honor and RtCW with German dubbed voices. lol

I like the scope they have. (old school) there is no problem with it. It works.
Well, we don't really have true "scopes" on the assault rifles at the moment. The word scope implies magnification.
We have a huge assortment of red dot sights, and holosights, but no scopes. Just thought it would be more appropriate to have at least an ACOG in there because the ghosts seem to have lots of long range engagements outdoors. Red dot sights are more geared toward urban close quarters - which is still a predominant part in GRAW, so I'm totally for them but some variety would have been nice instead of having 3 different types of red dot sights.
Also, the zoom on the M14 scope seemed very low - maybe around 4x? Thats how much zoom a ACOG has. I was expecting something like 10x for a DMR.

NOOO! I have to wait till the 18th. I'm so jealous!
-
Yes, I wanted an ACOG so much. Guess we will have to wait for Brettzies to make another mod

And the ability to switch between Eotechs/Aimpoints would have been nice too, instead of only aimpoints on cetain guns and only eotechs on certain guns.

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion, so I won't comment on the review except for the fact that I disapprove of it. He seemed to not have used the sat-view command to intensively when playing. (To me that is the reason the graw2 demo was so appealing - the ability to set up tactics)
The thing is these days with all these game media websites is that the editors they hire to do the reviews are geared a lot more towards casual gamers than before, like lets say in 1999.
They review 360 games and PS3 games like Halo, God of war, and Gears of war and commend them until their lips wear down. They love the arcadeish, cinematic gameplay. Like the above poster said, games like R6V and Lockdown which were complete ###### in my dictionary still got pretty good reviews from these guys, because it gave them what they wanted - brainless dumbed down shooting. However, when it comes to realistic tactical PC games like ArmA or even Graw2(even though graw 2 is still quite arcadey IMO) they are all like "zOMG, this game is too realistic, its too hard to play, the story isn't dramatic enough, there isn't enough action with bullets and shrapnel missing me by a hair's width all the time! It's boring!" and they give it a low score. Com'on, how exciting do you think real war is. most engagements take place more than 300 meters away and you almost never get to see the bad guy, because all you have to do is stay behind your cover and radio in a airstrike.
Anyway, I'm derailing myself here.
I just think there should be a game website more dedicated to hardcore gamers with serious gamers as reviewers that I can count on to give me a assessment of a game with similar criteria as I would have.

The AI in the retail version is much better than the one in the demo version!big deal. have u SEEN the AI?

No it wont.

I just preordered! Cant wait till the 18th

A10s dont stand a a chance against a hit from one of those missiles from a ADAT. I dont care what plane you're flying, you're toast.
-
Yeah but whats the point in taking out 2 of the 3 ADATs? The airstirke cant come in. Mission failed in real life
-
We all read the forums over the weekend. Why cant they?
-
When you run with the second LMG (not the MK26), and look down, your hand clips right thru the box mag. I find these little things very disturbing!
-
Players that go for objectives die faster because they are going into hostile territory. When all these guys die and the only remaining guys are the deathmatchers, it gets very aggravating. I acually was spectating a guy from our team that was a sniper and he was CAMPING an ADAT instead of destroying it.
-
But the thing here is, if you're on the frontline actively trying to blow up the ADATs, you are in more danger. So most of the time, players that actively go for objectives dont get to respawn often. Players that dick around running around killing enemies like its deathmatch however, are rewarded with spawns.

Its just a cuss word. An average US high school students hears 53 homophobic swear words a day. So what if the server has some profanity in its name?! It's not like you get traumatized reading bad words or anything. People need to HTFU
-
How do you have access to these things? RPG/m32? Are they in the demo?

Suggestions
1. Weapon selection screen : The little icons representing what weapon I'm going to get are too small. And also, I don't get to see what accessory(scope, aimpoint, eotch holosight, suppressor) I will get with the weapon until I spawn. Also, the auto spawn feature is a bit annoying. I want to take my time selecting weapons and not be rushed.
2. Round end scoreboard : Please add a "continue" button or the ability to exit out to the server browser. After every round I'm stuck at the scoreboard for about 15 seconds. I can see my score in 3-5 seconds, thanks you.
3. Weapon customization : Will this be available in the full game like it was in GRAW? I noticed there were only a handful of preconfigured weapon sets. Didn't really like it too much. I want the ability to customize my weapon like a Hk416 with eotech/ foregrip/ suppressor.

You guys don't understand the game industry.
Self publishing is impossible unless you had a huge success game under your belt that earned your game company enough money to sustain it through another development cycle.
You see, the publishers pay for a game's development. This covers everything from the wages for the programmers to the purchase of the 3D engine and so on. When the game comes out, the publisher takes a hefty portion of the profit to cover the investment they put in during development.
If a game studio goes independent, that means they loose all this funding. Until the point where they actually release the game and make money, they can't even pay their employees.
Valve had a huge success with Halflife and bought their company from Sierra with all the money they made and made Halflife2. Bohemia Interactive left Codemasters after the success that followed Operation Flashpoint and made Armed Assault independently. These cases were only possible because these game companies had made enough money from their previous successes to fund them through another game.
I don't think we can say the same for GRIN.
