  2. yeah that's what was bugging me.. the m16 foregrip is tapered. hey swartsz, have you ever considered modelling this? imo there's a big gap to fill in the GR arsenal; I've never seen a modded .223 rifle that is closer to sniping than it was to assault, and there just aren't any good 550 series models out there (excepting the upcoming opstab mod which has a great basic 550). if you feel like tackling the 550's here's another worthy weapon (and another thing the GR mod scene doesn't have enough of imo.. .223 in a subgun sized package): Of course your excellent suppressor models could be brought to bear with these weapons as well.   3. so no Sig 552 commando either huh? heh so close and yet so far.. I've always wanted a mod that did the 550 series some justice, but I totally understand why it would be pointless to include them in this particular one. your 550 is definitely the best one ever made for gr though, and I love the multiple mag idea. believe it or not I stumbled across that idea a while back when I screwed up a kit then realized the potential, but I never thought to actually model the weapon mag locations appropriately like you've done. I've already got all my dual mag mp5 kits setup that way though, in the homebrew weapons mod I use. one thing I can't wait for is the superb collectino of AUGs in this mod.. droooool. will a 24" barrel HBAR-T make an appearance? maybe with a beta cmag instead of the standard 42 round box? hehe I'm so greeeeeedy.. sorry if I'm being irritating.. but this and swebat will make my life complete!
  4. streinger, you mentioned that you've got a scoped sig 550 in your mod, and I took a look, excited that it might be a sig 550-1 sniper.. yours is a really good looking but regular sig 550 with a scope mounted on it. any chance of us seeing the 550-1 Sniper? I've always wanted a .223 sniper rifle to play with in GR for those low recoil, rapid follow on shots that are more difficult with bigger calibers. plus, that weapon is just damn sexy. any chance of me gettin' lucky?
  5. it looks great but is the foregrip (er.. the long piece around the barrel) a little bit skinny or is it just me? it could be because I'm used to looking at m4's with shorter barrels that make their foregrips look proportionally fatter.. I like the skin though. any plans for a black and or unsilenced version? (please?) btw.. love the "counter sniper" idea. I like it when a gun is designed around a specific purpose, not just another way to hurl bullets at the enemy. oh, and the mp5's.. drool.. you've got so many variants that you would almost have ever base covered if you stuck a clear and straight .40 or black and straight 10mm mag on them. yum.. .40 s&w..
  6. will it be available naked as well? looks gorgeous btw.. all the other psg models out there are either poor quality or have bad handpoints or holsterpoints. oh, and suppressor?
  7. so what is the <silenced> tag in .gun files even for if you're supposed to set the rollof manually anyway? my guess is that if an AI is standing within your rolloff, it will behave in a slightly different way.. or something.. any ideas? or is the .gun file value just redundant?
  8. god those models are sweet.. hey have you ever thought about clipping a second mag to the one in the gun for quick changes? would probably look pretty damn cool on these puppies, give them more of a 'used' look. or you could setup a kit with the dual mag mp5 where switching weapons between them switches 'mags' so to speak.. I did not with a homebrew mod then was surprised ot read about it in the description of some upcoming mod.. anyway, gorgeous guns man. so glad you're makin' more.
  9. what I meant was, will you not go back and add the holsterpoints to sw3? ..or are you going to incorporate all the weapons from silent warrior 3 into a new mod and add holsterpoints into that one? usually people use all new weapons in new mods so I didn't assume that that was what you were going to do. it would really kickass if you would though because those weapons simply deserve to be SLUNG!

  11. hey swartsz, first of all GREAT JOB. those guns are downright juicy looking ingame. I LOVE variety in mods, where multiple configurations of the same weapon are made, and you put a lot of variation in. awesome. my favorites are the m4 "scout" (with the aimpoint in front of the handle), and the mp5's with the taclights and lasers. also, the m4 cqb is a great idea. they would all go into my permanent activation rotation save for the fact that there are no holsterpoints set! the sexiness is ruined when you can't see the weapons slung. also, the sounds aren't the greatest. but hot damn, the bread and butter of your mod (the models and textures) are pristine perfect. as a side suggestion, I know your mod is "silent warrior," but have you considered unsilenced versions of all of these weapons? they're really superb, and I'd like to use them across the board to replace the ones I'm using now. of course, I also use versions with any given combination of m203's, masterkeys, and acogs, but that's a different story. (I can dream, can't I?)

  13. I would love that AND an unsilenced mp5! I'm such a weapons variant whore.. if it were up to me there would be every combination of underbarrel, silenced, mag capacity, barrel length, optics, etc. hehe
  14. this mod really kicks some ass. ingame all the guns look superb. I have a favor to ask: it it possible for you to release an unsilenced mp5/10? I can understand why you didn't given that the sd was probably intended as a silenced sidearm with some extra oomph. I could see a place for an mp5/10 though, as a sidearm appropriate for cqb. is there any hope of you releasing something like this? or emailing me a model and texture for one so I can play with it?
  15. I agree with the other comments in this thread.. I think this mod should be extended to its logical conclusion. These are extremely nice m4 models, just gorgeous, and I think that if they're going to have several different aiming devices, two different lengths, three different bullet feeding mechanisms, silencers, then on top of that two underbarrel extensions, then why not go the navy seals mod route and offer combinations of pretty much everything? I can think of great reasons to have an aimpoint/silenced/beltfed/masterkey combo, for example: silent approach (suppressor), powerful cqb (masterkey/aimpoint), suppressing firepower (belt/drum). I mean I know it's a lot of tedious work, but I would love to replace all the m4's I use with a series of ares shrikes sharing the same consistent modelling and texturing. I realize this would mean a LOT of different models, but man would it be rewarding. anyone else think the idea is over the top? it may not even be fun to do for the modder..
  16. hey are there plans to fit that m203 to a belt fed shrike? also, I love the guns but I have two small critiques. it's tough to say something critical about these guns because everyone including myself loves them so much, but if they were mine to fine tune I think I would make them less... colorful. I dunno, but why is the end of the end of the barrel brown? also, it may be because of my alpha channel impaired rsb's, but the perforated hand guard on the barrel looks like it has white polka dots, not holes. otherwise these guns have found a great place in the little homebrew mod I like to play with (not distributed of course).

  18. Wow, thanks a lot for your help. I'm running the latest mac version of ghost recon, which is concurrent with the PC version. I guess that would explain it.. I'll contact the programmers and try to get them to fix it. Can I ask for two enormous favors? One, can you tell me how I should explain the problem? That "rsb textures with alpha channels" don't display properly? Does that sound accurate? And two, in the meantime, if you would up a zip with un-alpha textures in it to the same place I would be eternally grateful. The screenshots for that mod look AWESOME. every once in a while a modder comes along and makes somehting on a par with Navy Seals, Vympel, Earl's standard upgrade, etc. From the screenshots it seems like you nailed it. Also, my heart beats faster at the though of a belt fed m16.. mmm...
  19. I'm having a problem that I've only seen with one other gr mod install so far, and it's this: I have no idea why, but a few of the textures are messed up on every shrike. Maybe the installer is shredding it or something.. would it be possible to just zip up the mod instead of putting it in an installer? I've never understood people's obsessions with installers for mods when you can just drag and drop them in.. I don't know why it does this.. I redownloaded the mod, even reinstalled ghost recon to try and fix it.
