There are a few different suppressed weapons where the loudest sound is the cycling of the action. The quietest firearm I have ever seen was a bolt action .22 though.

Of course there is always subsonic ammunition available in many calibers.

You are the man - I've been coming up short finding a decent pic all day lol. I haven't checked the exact poly count on any of the weapons, but I'd guess a little on the high side, although I tried to keep cylinders and n-gons limited to barrels and scopes. All the weapons I've done so far have lens and muzzle textures.

I got the helper points from piggyson's site. So if the left hand is unneeded, should I just delete that point or leave it where it lands when I merge the points to my weapon?

Anyone have a validated technique they use to get this right? Or is it pretty much just trial and error...

Yeah, the weld vertices was checked. Thanks! Unchecking that box fixed the problem. Piggyson's tut says to check it though..I wonder why? Oh well. Here is an in-game, I still have to fine tune the hand points

Here is the m14 finished with trigger & guard and a few minor changes: In-game however I am having a problem with the cylinders that comprise the top of the aimpoint and the gas cylinder plug. They are segmented with transparent vertical spaces between the segments. Also, the aimpoint scope sometimes looks as though all the pieces aren't touching....any ideas?

In Vietnam circa late '60s, according to "Marine Sniper" the team member that was the spotter for the mission would frequently carry a M14. I'll be looking forward to getting behind that remington. The cobra and pbr are nice touches. -
I didn't model the trigger guard & trigger b/c I was concerned about hand placement. That might change once I start adding the weapons into the game. Basically I didn't want it to look like the guy was impaled on the TG. I am pretty new to 3dsm, but most of the tuts I have read advise to simply leave it off. As far as the weapons go, I have a list of the ones I want, but it will boil down to which ones I can obtain hi-res pictures of. I plan on including RTE's MEU 1911 as well as two other caliber .45 sidearms, at least one of which will be suppressed. The current list has 8 rifles (5 +

The last two years of my USMC sponsored cruise were in Alabammy with the 3rd Force Recon Reserve. I appreciate the input guys, but I have the weapons roster squared away.

Basically, I couldn't find any pics of M14's that were worth a damn for texturing ( including the ones posted in these forums ) so I used the SA M1A - and, to be accurate, titled it as such. To be even more accurate, it is a Super Match M1A with a McMillan Marine Corp camo fiberglass stock and Aimpoint scope. You'd be suprised what makes its way into FR's armory, don't believe everything you read. btw...Acura-size? is that Honda's version of biggie-size?
