Skin recruiting for Force Recon Mod
ReconSnake replied to ReconSnake's topic in GR - Character & Skin Modding
They do wear it to a degree(I cannot confirm that all the FR elements have it yet as standard equipment though), but I didn't think there was an existing model of one, the only other helmet I have seen is the pro-tech style pictured above. JTF, if you can find one that's great, but if not we need the PASGT -

I should have been more clear lol, I want the black ops skin to have them - they look great in the newest version you sent me - keep those Any thoughts on whether it will possible to get a PASGT helmet? If not I think the combo of that pro-tec style & balaclava will pass muster. Thanks again for the hard JTF-2, they skin is coming along great! RS -
Very nice! Keep up the good work, it gets easier w/ each model.

Sounds like excellent progress. Those nomex gloves are important though, I must have missed the part about taking them out... -

Looks great Swartz. You might want to scale it up about 10%,but that's your call buddy. I would suggest attaching muzzle and tac-light lense textures to the model via the same way I described texturing the left side of the receiver. The rifle sling point looks to be part of the texture, not part of the model...you may or may not want to model it seperately in the future. On a side note, Most of the military M4A1's I have seen do not have rails on the side of the heat shield. On a flattop receiver with 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock heatshield rails there is more than enough room for designator

Done, reply should be in your mailbox -
Nomex skin has been taken on by JTF-2, who is doing an awesome job (there is a series of screenies for his first draft in the skin mod forum). One step closer to completion of the mod!

Skin recruiting for Force Recon Mod

I'm not sure about the rule, so let's ask him to be on the safe side. I'll email him tonight before I sack out. If you can send me a screenshot I'll let you know if it needs anything else. My email is reconsnake@charter.net @moakers: I tried to make one out of the existing pilot skin but my basic skinning skills didn't satisfy what I was looking for. I'll leave it up to JTF-2 as to how he assembles it - I have faith he will meet or exceed my expectation. -
Nice Job Ruin!

I am needing someone to do a Nomex CQB skin for me for the Force Recon mod I am working on. Acquiring the skills to skin is going to take up too much of my time that is already split between work, parenting duties, and the rest of the mod. Here is the suit Back view And this is the assault vest I need on it, but with mag pouches like the one on the bottom right all across the lower level instead of the two horizontal pouches on the left side: More shots of the vest I don't need the .45 or any other visible equipment off the vest....and I want to equip with a k-pot an

More fantastic news, Earl has just ok'ed using some of his spectacular weapons from standard upgrade! My to-do looks roughly like this (and I've probably got a few more things I'll stumble on in addition) *finish up 2 models *2 more splash screens (have 3 done) *some tweaks to the art folder *line edit actor files <sigh> *receive and integrate files from Earl & Six (I'm stoked about this) *work up Nomex skin ETA is hard to commit to right now, but I will be steady working.

Rogue Spear had a scale function in it.

1) you either need to find a pic of the left side of the weapon or make one by covering the ejector port, cover, forward assist, etc up in a graphic editing program like photoshop. Then open up your model and spin it so the left side is facing you. Select the receiver portion of your model, hit EditMesh, and select subobject Polygon. Now left-click on the receiver again & hit "m" to select and apply a new material to the left side. 2) You can have every material spot in the material editor filled with textures if you need to. I texture my model pieces individually - it is easier for me

Just to make sure, I need to change the target path for every actor? Sigh... Will that also take care of multiplayer?
-
Nice work indeed. Did you get my email yesterday Earl?

Well, it is now official. SixPence has just confirmed permission for me to use his awesome MarPat skins for the mod! I will also be reworking (hopefully - I am a total newbie at skinning) the Nomex flight suit skin from the "downed pilot" for my Recon shooters.
