[Graphics anomaly with Farcry Patch 1.4 ]
Dannik replied to Papa6's topic in Shooter games (FPS & TPS)
I've got a Radeon X1950Pro, and I seem to recall having troubles with patch 1.4 and corruption. I think the solution was in which patches to install in what order, though. It's been a while, but i'm looking for the solution I seem to recall finding a while back. Edit: Have you tried to update with the incremental 1.33 patch, before the incremental (not full) 1.4 patch? -
Don't count on that. You're still a developer, just with a new hat rack. But, but... fine. You got it, mate. Cheers, and looking forward to seeing you around still.

While I can't confirm it, to the best of my knowledge the Nostromos are simply USB partial left side programmable keyboards. I don't believe it requires the use of a mouse, nor do I believe it overrides an existing keyboard. I think it's more like having a left-hand-centric second keyboard installed.

Sort of, but not in the classic way of thinking. You can create a LAN or online co-op server, and play a few missions in basically firefight or extraction mode. There aren't a lot of official maps, there are some user made maps, but you do have to play in multiplayer mode, though this means that without other people playing in your server, it's just you, no AI to back you up. Otherwise, you have to complete a mission in campaign mode before you can play it again, and then you can only play the same mission over again. There may be a few mods out there, but in general, it's very limit

Not suggesting these items, but they are something to look at. Origin Instruments Accessible Controllers He could use the HeadMouse Extreme for mouse movements, using a camera and sensor on his forehead, while a Sip/Puff Controllerwould replace mouse clicks. I think you can get foot pedals that do the same thing, such as the FragPedal, which gives you left/right click with one foot, and scroll wheel with the other. Then, he rebinds his keys for right handed operation, and it's at least a start. There are a few keyboard replacements designed for gaming that work with either hand, l

Sgt.hoot, stop it. Just stop. You've made your point. You're a hater. Move on. This isn't a request.

M-Audio begs to differ, though they are more an audiophile/musician class sound card. I believe it's M-Audio sound cards that GRIN used for sound development for GRAW1/2.

I'd throw these Zalman 5.1 headphones into the pot. They're inexpensive, and have a decent audio quality to them.

Embarrassing story. [GR], Embassy map, TvT clan ladder match. I forgot that though I was left handed, my avatar wasn't. There was an incident with an alley, and an M136. Wiped out half my team. Note to self: The M136 is on the right shoulder. Leaning left from the right side of the alley opening doesn't clear you for a shot. Hmm. Perhaps GRIN's AI coding is up to par with me. That's scary.

what's the highest texture setting

Hmm. That makes sense, but dayum, that's got to be a kick in the pants for those who throw the money out there for SLI. -

I'm curious. Is this a game coding thing, a driver coding thing, or a hardware thing? Basically, does the engine not see SLI as being twice the memory, do the drivers report (erroneously) only one card's memory, or is it that the SLI cards/motherboards more or less RAID0 them? -
Confused by the question, or unsure, Wolfsong? I'm assuming Tinker is trying to figure out how to make a vehicle "hot" so the heat-lock on the Zeus will properly lock on to it.

We almost had one. GRIN didn't seem to mind, and Ubisoft didn't raise a peep, at least not to the general forum or the site operator here, so I don't think legality was an issue. Though, with Nemon going silent about it, who knows? They may have C&D'd him, on the sly.

It's as good looking as Legend (being the same engine, though it feels slightly more optimized), and is a faithful homage to the very first Tomb Raider title from the PS1. I admit, I didn't play the original game, but from comparison videos et al, it's very familiar to vets of the series, but with fresh changes to make it it's own game. I haven't completed it yet, as some of the puzzles are fiendish, but I'm pretty close. I do strongly recommend using a gamepad, though, particularly one that's got dual analogue sticks on it. I purchased it through Steam, and other than the rare collisi

Article Gamasutra is hosting a very interesting article showing how the big games companies view the media. As I've long contended, it's all Payola. Play nice, or you don't get to review our games. At one point, one of the interviewees contends that independent media sites (like GR.net) who actually spend the time to delve in and find out new info before it's formally released, are subject to scorn. Why am I not surprised?

Polite applause. Congrats on graduating, and best wishes on finding something in your field. Geology is a very specialized field, but I have to imagine that thinking outside of the box could find you a position that's not what you expected, but still relevant. Assaying for an oil company? Heck, running a desk at a company that does assaying. Even something with civil engineering, doing surveying. It's not exactly using your degree to it's fullest, but it's a possible first step. Best of luck!

Dufferin and Bloor for me. Global Cheese is my fave stop when I get down that way. Drop me a note next time you're in town, and there will be beer and grilling of tasty things.

The Rosen issue has been extensively discussed in this thread.

Twelve year resident, and loving it. I'm a bit of a food freak, so I'm living in walking distance to a half dozen really decent butchers, hundreds of small stores with decent produce, and I'm not far away from Kensington. Oh, and Phil's Original Barbecue is just a couple blocks away.

Good news, Tinker. It's not very difficult, and well explained here.

ACU Swatch It's not huge, but it's a decent size, and of a flat swatch.

"I stepped in a puddle, and my shoe filled with water, while I was on my way to the local branch of the national chain of non-gourmet coffee houses. I wanted to get a cup of coffee with two shots of cream, and two sugars, but I realized I had forgotten to bring my cash. Instead, I'll pick up a box containing 24 bottles of domestic beer, a large bottle of hard liquor, and head to the party in the woods that follows the dance in the civic hall. I may as well enjoy it, since I just got fired, and it'll take weeks for my unemployment insurance to start sending me cheques. After that, it'

Foreign Canadians, eh? "I stepped in a puddle and got a booter while heading to Timmys to get a double double but when I got their I realized I forgot to bring a couple of loonies, later tonight I'll go pick up a two-four of beer and a texas mickey for Friday night's bush party after the social. I might as well it is my last money since I lost my job and I am waiting for pogie to kick in - I'll just flake out on the chesterfield and keep warm by wearing my toque and watch HNIC, cursing the stinkin' Leafs this Saturday." I'll translate, if anyone has issues.
