If you use IE, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced and uncheck "Show Friendly HTTP Error Messages" in the "Browsing" section. That'll change the mostly useless error messages into something that actually means something. It looks like @War is overloaded at the moment. Fileplanet's working fine, but I'm getting "server overloaded" messages from the download popups as well, at the moment.

Welcome to GR.net! We're pretty good about new players and getting valuable answers to sincere questions.

1.3 is part of Island Thunder. 1.4 was a bugfix/correction for a couple of oops'es that RSE/Ubi made with 1.3 Thus, if you have version 1.4 installed, the requirement for 1.3 and prior is already dealt with. In a nutshell: 1.4 is the latest, best patch version. You got it, you're good to go.

Did these crashes start before or after installing DAGRM4.9?

Left side of the carbine version. Low quality, but still a clear enough shot.

If anyone is looking for a proefssional quality image editing program, that is legitimately free software, as it has been released as a GNU licenced application, check out the GIMP homepage (GNU Image Manipulation Program, this G.I.M.P.) Specifically, the Windows version can be found here. Again, this is legitimate freeware, although like most projects of this nature, the creators certainly wouldn't hate it if you donated a little something if you like their program.

The FragBox is a variant of the FIC IceBox.

Technically, RSE considers SOAF a R6 "lite" product, more than a GR style game. It was meant to be a CQB take on the GR engine, but a SWAT/HRT/RS style of game.

YES! That was my issue as well. I have a Logitech Wingman Extreme, which has a tilt sensor in it, and I had the same issue as Rocky, with the frenetic movements. I killed the tilt sensor and all was well. Level 2 of the demo is still gettting me. I got as far as using the grapple to descend through the electrical "storm" but the guard at the bottom nailed me well, despite my grenades.

Tue "Report This Post" button is not for general feedback. It's for those times when someone posts something that is clearly against the terms of use for the forum, and you don't have a more direct way of notifying an admin (such as ICQ or whatever). It sends a somewhat global alert to the moderating team that there is a violation in effect that needs attention. It's kind of like calling 911 to request tickets to the Policeman's Ball. "

That reminds me of an incident that occurred during my driver's licence road test a decade and a half ago. I won't bother with details, as they aren't important, but the idea of that stoic recovery from a potentially serious accident, calmly executed due to training and perhaps some simple quick thinking is certainly an eye opener. You fly because you love to fly. You almost ceased flying in a very unpleasant way. Congrats, not worry, is in order.

XP is actually much more heritage DOS friendly than 2K/ME ever was. Let me suggest you start here. Setting things like EMS/XMS memory is actually quite simple. It's just a matter of editing the properties (right clicky stuff) of the DOS executable/.pif/.bat file. Good gaming on the vintage apps.

No, you do not have to buy patches. The game shipped as version 1.0, when it was just Ghost Recon. It was later patched to version 1.1 via a free download. Then, Desert Siege (the expansion pack) was release in retail. This also had the side effect of patching GR to version 1.2 Because of this, RSE/Ubi released a bugfix patch that addressed the same issues that the retail pack did, just without the new missions/weapons. This patch was free. Then, Island Thunder was released. This release was another "new content" retail pack, and was released with patch 1.3 alongside it. Bot

Ooops... It's supposed to be GR/DS/IT (and then the 1.4 patch if your version doesn't match at that point, which it likely won't if you don't have the Gold version). I don't really know if it will be an issue, but if you do have problems, you may have to repeat the process. At least you now know what to do if it gets messed up. -
In case of emergency, if you can't determine the cause and resolve it quickly enough for your deadlines... you may be better off reverting to safe mode so you can get your work done, then work on the problem when you can focus on it better.

¿Que? Seriously, it's more important that you participate for the sake of participating, than worry about goals. Sure, we all want to be the "important name on the list" but it's more important to be a part of the community as a newbie, than merely a fixture.

I'm trying to spam, er, um... Be informative and insightful with all my posts. I guess I just need to be MORE insightful in the immediate future. Seriously, I'm known in some forums as the Googlemeister, and the Spam King. Here, I just can't do that. It's too.... pure.

I think (and I mean merely think) that you might have a bit of spyware called ClientMan infesting your system. Just in case, this article details how to tell, what it does, and how to remove it. Good luck, bro.

Actually, according to this article, as well as a few others, America Online isn't planning on changing their name, but instead AOL Time Warner, which owns the online service, has been asked to remove the AOL from their name, to draw attention due to negative press about AOL Time Warner, from America Online.
