  1. Simple in concept (which is a good thing, in my opinion) but there's one small thing I think would be a significant improvement. Your game name in black over a fairly dark background doesn't really stand out terribly well. Perhaps a shade of light to medium grey, or adding an effect to the text to make it's edges stand out a bit better? Hey, you asked for feedback!
  2. There are no such mods for SOAF or Ghost Recon.
  3. Adobe Photoshop is the premiere photographic/image manipulation application. It'll work just fine... but be careful of the steep learning curve.
  4. XO, you completely destroyed the comic timing.
  5. Give me a few minutes and I'll remove the text/skiier from the pic. Not quite the same as you asked, but it should achieve the same end result, I assume? EDIT: zjj beat me to it, but since I've already done the work... Edited Pic
  6. GIMP <- Gnu Image Manipulation Project Free photo editing software, in the semi-professional range of power.
  7. The command to delete folder is DOS/Command Prompt Mode is deltree. Usage: This would delete the folder "User3" and all files within.
  8. First, a disclaimer: If I have used a word in my post that is not considered appropriate for these forums, it is unintentional from a "poor use" standpoint, but used in deference to the topical thread. There are two sets of phrases, both occuring more online than in day to day life, that frustrate me. The terms "gay" or "fag" being used to describe someone's distaste with a situation. Playing online games, we all know the usage to which I refer "ur" instead of "you are" or "your" or "you're" Both sets of terms are purely indicative of someone who has so little respect for language and dec
  9. I don't believe that ZoneAlarm allows port manipulation, as it's exclusively (as I recall) application level. ZoneAlarm Pro does allow ports, but that's not freeware.
  10. When you say you are on a wireless connection now, do you mean satellite or 802.11a/b/g/whatever? If it's satellite or fixed broadband (microwave), then latency (delay between your motion and the time for that info to get to the server) will intrinsically destroy your ability to play MP games over the `net. There's simply too much distance to cover for your signal, especially with satellite. If it's wireless as in "home network wireless", then depending on the tech you use, things like cell phones, cordless phones or your kitchen microwave will emit frequencies that your wireless hard
  11. This sounds like bad Creative drivers. I had a similar issue when I got my Audigy 1 card a few months ago. A driver update from Creative solved the issue in my situation. Certain applications would die hard in a high pitched whine, after a few minutes of play. Creative released "gamer" specific betas shortly after I had this issue, and they helped a bit, and since then they have released a more stable build. I don't know if you are using the install CD drivers or the latest from Creative's site, but if it's the former, download, download, download. Best of luck. It's a beautiful c
  12. The answer. Looks like a security patch that creates a bug in certain OE installs.
  13. Maple tends to be a "slower" neck, as in the finish tends to grab the fingers a bit more. It also usually lends a brighter or more "open" tone to a guitar. Rosewood tends to be "faster", with less finger resistance. It also deepens the tone of the instrument. I prefer maple even though my hands tend to get sticky pretty fast when playing. I chose maple over rosewood for the tonal differences, not the physical differences. Best thing to do is A/B both on the same model and see where you end up.
  14. Filtech Computer <- $251 for the P2.4C Canada Computers <- $255 for same ...basically, the dozen or so computer stores on or near Spadina and College all have incredible deals.
  15. I realize I was getting fiddly with the fractional stuff, but the overall point is your team still benefits from the 7th and 8th leadership point. It may not round nicely to full points, but the bonus is still there.
  16. Not quite, Sart. How Leadership points work isn't in multiples of three... well, not quite. How it does work is that for each 3 leadership points, your other soldiers get a boost of the equivalent to 1 regular point. Now, if your "leader" only had 2 leadership points, the other soldiers still get a boost, but only 2/3 of a point. The game engine doesn't interpret the points as literally as the GUI indicates. Think of it this way: Let's say 8 points in Weapon would give a soldier an accuracy rating of (making up numbers as I go, the numbers aren't important, but the relationship o
  17. Every stat point added does have an impact on your soldier's abilities. The manual is rather vague on this fact though.
  18. Gotcha.. I'm Canadian as well, but I'm just used to folks posting in USD that I unwisely assumed. Anywho, the P4 2.4C (800MHz FSB) chip is retailing for about $255 around Toronto. Want to save a few dollars?
  19. So, by take it to the next level, you mean... You left the lights on at bedtime?
  20. Gotcha. Jungle Storm for the PS2 contains the Island Thunder maps/campaign, but it also contains another complete mission pack, which takes the campaign from Cuba to Colombia, for a further set of missions taking down a drug cartel. I know you're referring to the PC version, but the completely new set of missions from Jungle Storm that go beyond IT may be the PC pack you heard about. From Gamespot:

  22. GAH!!!! Where the *beep* are you shopping? The Pentium 4 2.4ghz shouldn't cost more than $187USD. Seriously. You could pick up a 2.8 chip for $279USD. Damn.
