  1. You could use a command line program and write a batch file to cover your usual needs. It's indelicate and takes a bit of user knowledge... but it's all I have at the moment.
  2. You say "when i make the width more and height shorter". This tells me that you are trying to scale the images without constraining the dimension. This will inherently introduce artifacting (fuzzy bits) as the number of pixels you have to play with don't change, and whenever you increase any dimension (in your case, wider), the application has to "guess" how to add more pixels. You would be much better off only reducing dimensional length, and never trying to add length. Also, contraining dimension is critical to preserve aspect ratios. Basically, there is no practical way of doing
  3. Give it time for some of the hardcore modders to digest. I know for a fact that the GR engine has been more manipulated to success by the fans than RSE ever did.
  4. As I understand, the inherent problem is that each team receives different information in-game, which are delivered to that player depending on their "slot" in the server. Same thing for those in the lobby area. Any data mining tool would (again, I am not a modder) seems that it would have to actually connect to the server, sit as an "observer" in all teams (up to four per match, depending on context) and parse the data back out. This isn't going to be achieved by a simple mod. Someone is going to have to violate the game license and alter certain game files that are not to be altered

    Illusion

As a lefty, that's painfully easy. Just another sign of the great right-handed oppression! /need more beer.
  6. If you have Windows XP, Java is not included with IE or the system, due to a falling out between Sun Microsystems and Microsoft. You can install the required Java runtimes from Java.com
  7. By the way, Rocky, have you had the chance to peruse the forum we maintain for worthy visitors yet?
  8. It's just too bad this forum is PG rated, or I'd use one of my interesting sigs.
  9. Horrifically simple, but I'm a dull, petty little man.
  10. Also, if you have an image/idea for a signature pic, but it is either outside the "acceptable" rules for the forum here, or requires some sort of custom graphic work that you are personally unable to perform, feel free to simply ask for help. There are any number of talented, friendly folks around here who would be more than glad to help out.
  11. I'm reasonably confident the reason this sort of mod hasn't been seen yet is that the GR engine doesn't allow for detailed data mining. You can extract basic information, like the game type, time remaining and the names of who's playing, but as far as I understand, very little other useable data can be extracted during games.
  12. After careful forensic analysis of the image at hand, I have choice but to conclude that Zantar45 was in fact firing to the right of the "victim", at around shoulder level. Regardless of his intended target, the image cannot be held any longer as proof of any crime, since there is no reasonable way to conclude that the other individual pictured was either the intended target, nor an actual target of any kind. <- any chance of renaming this one from "shifty" to "lawyer"?
  13. The dedicated server tools from Mass Productions (good ol' TommyBoy's company) are the butter on the bread for every server operator that I've known to use them. His newest build also supports Ubi.com launching, and a very recent discussion of the new build can be found here, in The Combat Zone's forums. The topic was created by TommyBoy, the author of the application in question, and the comments/questions/answers in the thread should give you an idea just how well liked his software is by server ops.
  14. What application/services are you currently using to restart the server automatically?
  15. On vanilla (no mods) MP play, the SA80 has a fine combination of zoom, accuracy and CQB usefulness. I personally hate using it, but it's too practical to skip. Mind you, I tend to take the MM1 for "tactical" reasons.
  16. LiveJournal It's a blogging site. The term "blog" is a truncation of "web log", or a web based journal.
  17. I'm currently a beta tester for two subscription based games. Once they leave beta and go retail, I'm probably done. I can understand a company wanting to collect fees for maintenance costs they attribute to providing fresh content and number of users to be maintained, and since these games all play from centralized, corporate run servers there's no 3rd party server community (or products) to enter into it, but look at it this way: If a game has 10,000 active players, and they all pay $10 a month for access, do you really think that the game company is spending $100,000 every month main
  18. I'd also consider a civilian boot, like Terra Wild Siders. Thinsulate lined, incredibly comfortable, and good in snow and summer. They're also nice and durable. I once parked a 2000lbs steel desk (long story) on my toe in a pair for a few minutes to get a lift truck under it, and all I ended up doing is slightly scuffing the leather. They're so comfortable that when I badly sprained my ankle a couple of months ago, I put these steel toed beasts on whenever I had to walk anywhere, since they fit/gripped my ankle better than any other footwear I've ever owned.
  19. I think I found the problem. In Windows, right click on the folder in question, and select Properties, then Sharing and uncheck the Make this folder private checkbox (assuming it's checked, which this sounds like). Ok it, and you should now be able to delete the folder within Windows.
  20. When you're at the prompt, type: C:\docum~1\James2>cd.. This will take you to the root Documents and Settings folder. C:\docum~1>dir This will list all files/folders in this directory. If the list is too long, try a wildcard, like dir j* for all files/folders starting with "j". Then, the deltree command can be used. In certain Windows versions, instead of deltree, rmdir can be used.
  21. I do have a question though. If the folder is in Documents and Settings, it sounds like it's part of a user profile. If it's part of a user profile and you want to get rid of it, I assume you want to get rid of the user profile itself, which would delete all that stuff in the Docs directory anyway. If that's what you need to do (delete the user) then why don't you just use the control panel's Users tool?
  22. Once of my fave claymore traps is on the S/E side of the footbridge in the middle of the IT Bridges map, during MP games. A pair of demo's, one with clays and the other with sensors (or just a good sense of comedic timing) set up a sensor just behind a claymore, aimed at the "exit" of the bridge. Hillarity ensues.
  23. Umm... Since IT is a retail package, I would strongly recommending not mentioning that you got it by not paying for it. From reading your post again, I assume you are a MAC user. Unfortunately, there is no compatible RSB plugin for the MAC platform according to the official sources.
  24. Heck, I use a php script to rotate my sigs at my "home" forums. I don't do that here for the technical reason that the script won't work and I can't be bothered to set up something more server sided... and a few of the sigs I use are a touch... risque for use here.
