I fully agree with all the replies above. Also in my case it's many time I would like to make a mod but since I don't have the skill to do it I kept quite. And enjoyed other people's mods @ Brandonkeppel: looking at your posts in the mission forum it seems you are learning quite well. So IMHO you should try to make a simple mission and to release it to the public. Then you can move further....

This is a very good advice! Loke, since you are quite new here let me remind you one thing: it's not acceptable to use parts of other mods without permit to include your own mod. But if you make your mod having as requirement another mod activated than it's ok. Of course if you don't plan to redistribute it you can do whatever you like

You can always launch notepad and then file/open. Or you can make right click with your mouse keeping the SHIFT button pressed. You will have Open with in the menu

Looking forward for the official fix (with new missions ) open your B01- Tapered Arrow.mis file with notepad (yes B01 and not B03 ) and remove the <BriefingCycleImage>sl_beach_shots.rsb</BriefingCycleImage> tag. I guess the sl_beach_shots.rsb is corrupted or not properly realized. Enjoy!

You can find them inside the appropriate mod folder (MP1 for DS and Origmiss for GR) under CommandMaps folder. To open them you need the rsb plugin installed in your Adobe Photoshop or Jasc Paint Shop Pro. BTW they are not colour maps and, yes, you have to mark the respawn zone by yourself

Some people already know my past asGlobetrotter. Having passed almost 3 years in Eritrea and moved then to Brazil and Poland, it's almost 2 years that I'm living in my home-country Italy with my wife and baby (apart a short period in Libya). But the cost of life is becoming so high and therefore my wife and I took the hard decision that I will move to work to Algeria for a period of 2 months . Departure date is next Monday. Surely I will miss my family but I want to tell you that I will miss all of you too, this community that I consider like my friends. Yes, there will be no Internet connect

Windows XP works great with NTFS. The last service Pack for XP is SP1 but don't suppose this time MS made a nice work. Even after installed SP1 (if you like see http://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=17638) you should download many other updates!

Yes and this is a bad thing IMHO. Before to receive the disk I already made lots of experiments with WindowsUpdate and found that the better thing is to download all the updated (expecially related to security) but not the SP1 since it wastes losts of resources. The disk coming from Micorsoft practically is SP1 and other updates but it's a must to install SP1 For those who are interested there are also 6 months trial versions of F-secure Antivirus and Internet Security 2004 versions

The best suggestion (and the very beginning for all of us) is to start to analyze the script of the original missions or some other "easy" mods. Try to experiment a bit by yourself and then feel free to come here to ask again if still frozen!
