i got into the file but it won't let me change the numbers

first it says The game service cannot detect if your game's version is compatible with the host. Your game's version will probably not work with the host's game version. Do you want to enter anyway? so i say yes then the game launches and it says Ghostrecon has caused an error in GHOSTRECON.EXE Ghostrecon will now close if you continue having this problem try restarting your computer sombody please help me!?!?

So i have desert seige and island thunder installed. before i installed island thunder i had crazy mods but once i installed IT the game would'nt even pull up. So i called tech support and told me that IT doesnt support mods so i uninstalled all of my mods and then the game worked. I have now beat the games multiple times and i want more missions but as soon as i download one the game instantly crashes again. I WANT MODS!!! how can i stop the crash?
