  1. Hi all,

My roommate took recently the PS2 out of the house so i never have tested GR on ps2. I was wondering:

    - Are the controls ok on that gamepad?

    - Are the missions different compared to the pc-version?

    - Are there multiplayer-abilities? and how does it work?

I really miss my Gran Turismo evenings, but im not planning to buy a new ps2 just for racing.

    Thanks

  2. Try the fixed grenadelaunchers in some mods, for example HX4.

There is one on the beach map from Island Thunder :)

    Where is that??

    Yup,

in map of IT M07, Ocean Forge, and

in map of IT M02, Angel Rage, near south Guard Tower

I guess they're only available if the maps are used in MP modus (+HX4 mod) and not in a single player mission.

  3. Hehe, i like that.

Try, when visiting Europe, Bar Lugosi, Haarlem, The Netherlands.

+/- 4 times a week real life Debriefing.

(there are also some counterstrike players, but our side of the table is much more fun)

  4. Sorry about the confusion there. I wanted the extraction zone to be hidden until the end. I originally had it highlighted with smoke but that was giving problems with the quick save and quick load function so I did away with that idea.

    I really liked that idea.

Personally i had some problems in multiplayer coop mission 1. For some reason the demo placements didnt work out. So i couldnt finished the mission objectives (see also previous post).

Anyway, also my personal thanks on you guys of the frostbite mod.

    Respect here.

  5. But very often, we missed because of wrong eyes position. In science aspect, they call it the "Parallax Error". How u sat in front of your PC affect your aiming greatly. The ideal eyes position is 90 degree to your PC. This mean that you do not have to look up or look down to face your PC.  :rocky: Agree? lol. Well my aiming have greatly improved, after i sat level to my PC.

As a photographer im very familiar with the parallax error. In theory with a weapon you should have the same mechanism. Its more complicated because youve got to deal with some other factors like gravity and weather.

In the game this 'parallax error' has no meaning; the screen is just 2d. Your aim doesnt move while moving your eye-position.

I recently changed my screen resolution a bit higher. That improves my aiming really a lot.

  6. Not quite so...M4 is chambered for 5,56mm NATO rifle round, whereas H&K MP5 is chambered for 9x19mm Luger pistol round. Although both weapons are gass operated, which is tipical rifle construction, the ammo type actualy determines the first one (M4) as a carbine, (shortened rifle, since it's chambered for a rifle round), and the second one (MP5) as a SMG since it's chambered for a pistol round. No need to point out the M4 is far more powerfull then MP5.

I mean, you cant compare the M4 to the M16, just as you cant compare the MP5 to the M16. They are in an other legue.

  7. SA80 = l85a1 (85 is modification, a1 is scope?)

No.... SA80 is Enfield's name for it, the production name.

L85A1 id the British Armed Forces name for it.

Same thing with L96A1 and AI's name "Precision Marksman".

    Okee, thanks

By the way, do you know the official Lee-Enfield site. Can't find it anywhere.

    Thank, BlueRose

  8. actually if u research the M-16 and m-4 had trouble when they came out

the M-16 jammed a ton in Vietnam. IT also tooks years before the gov. bought any. I believe it was JFK who ordered them.

The M-4 was bought by our local swat team years ago when it was new and it was over a year before they took it on a call because it was faulty.

Yep and the M16 has a lot of modifications since Vietnam, wich resulted in a more reliable weapon.

(Thats why they do use it nowadays)

The M4 is a carbine version of the M16. Its shorter, lighter wich makes it perfect for swat and or urban/short distance warfare, or as a defense weapon for guys who are not on the frontline and dont need extreme firepower. On long ranges it got less accurate and less powerfull. Its just another type of weapon like for example the MP5 is.

  9. One addition to my list

Band of Brothers it really changes the concept of war movie taking the standard way up from me a 9.3/10.

i saw the second episode where they did the airdrops on a huge widescreen flat panel and a mad thx-esque sound system at my buddy's pad ...

i nearly pooped in my pants.

Yeah, i got rocked in my chair as well. What a brilliant, almost real life, footage.

Anyone seen the episode thet they completely whipped out a compagnie of SS'ers?

They were on a night mission and got stuck behind a wall in the grasslands. At last, in the morning they , they set up the attack. They also showed some combat tacics. I've checked the scene over and over again, but the tactics are still complete mumbo-jumbo to me. For me that was a bit of e bummer. But the pictures are really overwhelming.

  10. Dear All,

Anyone got experience with gaming on TFT screens?

According to technical manuals of the screens they all should have a response delay of +/- 20-25 milli seconds, which has to do with the slow reaction time of the used crystals in the screen itself.

This delay could be a problem in precision games like GR.

Altough a slim screen would look perfectly nice on my desk, i still like some nice stats at the end of the game.

    Anyone on this one?
