Welcome!!!! ...get the game...and then once you have the stock GR under your belt, begin downloading mods...drop a few extra bucks and get the strategy guide....read it cover to cover....take your time and be patient...its worth it!!!!

@bluerose....yeah I have done that...at least I now I know I am not the only one doing it and cursing at 3:00am!!! :lol:I say one save per mission...this would change how people approach the game...quicksaves that are unlimited ,...IMHO,...leads to sloppy play and thats sad because then one misses out on how GR was really meant to be played...

...I had the same problem " ...I could not get the first mission to complete ....sooooo I dumped the mod into a temp folder where I stash stuff that needs to be looked at....something else about that first mission...maybe its me...but I had a heck of a time killing the tanks with the grenades...I done it a couple times, but it always took a million tries ....sorry I don't have any answers...but you are not alone.....

@Subcog...I agree 100% with you....the ai,both friendly and enemy need "tweaking"...I hope this issue is addressed in GR2....the enemy are way to accurate...their reaction times are not very human like most of the time...on the other side of the coin our Ghosts tend to be on the not so smart side ....last night as I played Frostbite, I was taking aim at a bad guy at some distance...just as I was about to put him down, one of my own guys walks smack dab right in front of me...causing me to move and of course with the elite enemy ai, thats all the bad guy needed to see me and drop me with one

my biggest complaint with oper.flashpoint was that, if memory serves, control of the squad was too cumbersome.. to many keys to remember.... and the graphics were lacking......but when you add in the complexity of driving / flying...it just turned me off..I guess it would have seemed better if I did not have GR to compare it too...IMHO...On another note on Medal of Honor...curious as to problems you guys were having... the only issue I had was the bug that caused it to crash on retail version....when you tried to load it also tried to dial up the internet..but that was fixed in the first patch

...I have an AMD Anthlon 1.0 gig...and it generates enough heat to warm the small bedroom that it is in....during marathon sessions ....I always run with the cover off the case and I have an extra case fan...plus I have a large fan behind the pc...I have beat this pc in terms of gaming time and it runs well,of course now that I said that, it will blow up!!! but...from what I have read and been told when I build my pc I will use a pentium 4....

...while we are on this topic....I noticed that for Nividia cards, there are like a million ones carrying the Geforce name...PNY...Albatross...Chaintech...I presume these are all manufacturers using Nvidia's chipset?...which one of these is better?

.....that would not suprise me at all....critics usually don't have a clue...not to mention most of them are serving an agenda and the last thing on their minds is providing a fair, in depth and objective analysis for the public...when I look at buying a new game I usually just look at(over at Game Spot)at the overall rating from the users who have written reviews and how many reviews that score represents...look at GR over at Game Spot...the dude there gave it a 7.3, but the user reviews average to 8.7 for about 1800 reviews....hmmmm I wonder which score is more accurate?!

...I am right there with you...I bought just the orginal and then the red hammer add on pack....played through maybe half of it...you are right...the controls, hence game play,sucked beyond belief!!! graphics.....marginal at best...most bushes and trees looked strange...but what really got me was how blocky and unrealistic the people looked...codemasters should have took a page from Ubi/Red Storm in terms of game controls, squad movement,ect,ect,ect....god, then there was trying to fly helicopters....yeah like that was alot of fun...driving tanks was just as awful.... ...

All commandos series games....even the original from 1999 still is fun to play...but commandos 2 took it to anothe level for that series....I remember when it came out in 2001...I figured it would be more of the same...which would not have been all bad...I was blown away by the overall improvements " ...thats it...all my other games are FPS or squad/tactical based games......

...gonna start on it in the next few weeks or so...order the case/power supply(antec) first, then the motherboard/processor...looks like for the board and processor I am gonna have to drop about $350 give or take a few bucks....bundled packages are about the same as being the parts alone....this is my first stage and we'll see how it goes...I may be able to get almost everything else(except video card) at Staples for decent prices......not fond of the idea of spending alot of the money on stuff from companies via internet......

gotta say this....I have Raven Shield(I know, I know...smack me along side the head right now )and it prompts to install either dx 9.0 or 9.0a...I sat there for 10-15 minutes debating...I have dx 8.1 and all my games run fine on it...sooooo I decided it would be better to not install 9.0(or 9.0a, whichever it was) and have RS not work than to install it and have RS work, but my other games crash . Anyway, I did not install the newest dx and RS ran great on 8.1 all the way through...I will not change my dx version until I absolutely have to...

I more than likely will stick with a Nvidia product....I am trying to buy "new" technology that will age well, but not buy the newest stuff which as we all know will drop in price over the next few months or so.....

I am gonna go with the ASUS P4C800 Deluxe...as far as a video card...Not sure ....I have had two Nvidia cards and they have both served me well...just read a very in depth and technical article on a comparison between the Geforce FX 5900 ULtra and the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro...(PC Magazine, article dated 5/12/03)....the conclusion was neither one was clearly "better" than the other...is it correct that texture memory does not directly equate to speed and that piplelines have more of an impact on speed?...that being said...are the 256 mb cards really faster than their older 128 mb counterparts or
