  1. Well it's been about 8 months since my last mission release to the community, thought it was about time to make another. I made this one this weekend for fun. I make my missions fun. They aren't super long un-beatable firefights.. they are realistic ops that the ghost's might find themselves in.

    In recruit mode, you should be able to succeed first try without any casulties. Vet, maybe one man down. Elite... I've beat it twice on elite. Once, I had one man left.. Once I had 2, and one had wounds in his chest, arm, and left leg!!! HAHA..

    This is the mission briefing, so you can get a clue as to what it's all about!

    Situation: A large plantation has been identified as a cocaine manufacturing plant and rebel stronghold and must be shut down. A SA-13 mobile SAM launcher is also on site and must be eliminated. (cont.)

    Mission: Your mission will be to secure the plantation grounds and to destroy the SAM site. All buildings must be searched for intelligence items and any cocaine stores must be destroyed, on-site. (cont.)

    Execution: Insert. A 2-ton truck will carry your men to a drop off south of the plantation. A small unit of recon Marines will provide rear security for your assault on the compound. A M1A1 Abrams MBT will also be on site for additional support. Secure the compound and take out the SAM. Once all objectives are completed, move to the rally point for further orders and extraction.     Final Notes: All building must be searched and secured. We expect heavy resistance so bring the big guns. You can destroy the SAM with either a rocket or high explosives. Any cocaine stores found must be blown up with explosives.

    AND.. I might as well tack on the README too... Since this will be the thread regarding the mission..

    OPERATION: SLASH & BURN

    -Quick Mission. MP Cooperative.

    -Must have Island Thunder & Desert Seige.

    -I made this mission as a little project over the weekend. It took about 2 days of work. Before this I hadn't released a mission in over 8 months!

    -There are 3 difficulty levels. On easy there are about 30 hostiles. On Elite, about 60.

    -This mission is intended to give you a feel of what it's like to be part of a large scale operation.

    -The firefights in this mission are classic!

    -There are multiple realistic objectives. And kick ass AI.

    -Hope you enjoy!

    -I'll probably make a sequel to this mission to finish the story up. maybe. :) Depends on community feedback... And how lazy I am.

    HINTS:

    -Try to use the friendlies as support. Move with them and you won't be dissapointed.

    -All the buildings in the compound must be entered and "searched" for the mission to complete, so while your there, enter all the buildings. There are 5 total, including the building's you place demo in. There will be reminders in-game however.

    -For extra challenge, plant demo charges on the SAM instead of using an AT4.

    -SPEND THE TIME TO READ THE BRIEFING. Long but cool.

    INSTALLATION:

    -Simply drop the folder "OpSlash&Burn" into your "ghostrecon/mods" folder. Open game, Activate "Operation: Slash & Burn" mod, play mission in the

    quick mission mode (mission).

    -Feel free to use whatever mods you want to with the mission. Just make sure the mission has priority over other mods your running.

  3. The MP5SD might be not as effective in game as the SOPMOD m4, but as someone else was saying, about killing sentries with the MP5SD, used to be the only way of doing it silently (of course you have the suppressed m9 but c'mon!).

    Don't you remember the GR glory days of m16's, m249, and m4's... the OICW and MP5SD... and MG3 and a RPK... a SA80 and a MP5, SVD, and a M82... just to name a few..

    I would make the mags solid black. And maybe take the camo off the scope, then you'd be set, imo.

  5. I used the SR47 with my "Williams" specialist on IT mission 5 and it worked great! I really like the kill power and first shot accuracy. Plus the gun looks rad!

  6. remember that the AI are really good in open areas but suck ###### in close... when you get into CQB you need to control that member of the team. Shoot the sniper... Then switch over to your entry team.

    Thats one of the best parts about GR... YOU get all the action! Placing demo, killing tanks, rescuing hostages, ect...
