  1. This is the best thread ever......

Roo your last one was .....

    Love the M99 explained too.....

I'm glad more people are starting to get in on it.

  2. Cangaroo, please divert your attention to making another Bombay TV movie short. I could use a good laugh.

Roo, this was the only line of that post I was directing at you. I in no way was calling you a whiner, or assuming that this thread was a result of a complaint you personally had. My "you" is directed at the people who feel sour towards this issue. Now go make me a movie so I can laugh. :P

  3. Agree to disagree? Hehe.....

Cangaroo, please divert your attention to making another Bombay TV movie short. I could use a good laugh.

As far as this topic goes.....Players have the right to spawn kill.........those spawn killed have the right to be ######.........and server admins set the rules.

Some servers allow it...some allow it with no nades in spawn, and some don't allow it at all. Find what suits you, or start a server of your own and rule with an iron fist!!!!! :nono:

Ok, the problem with this feature as i understand it is this. Were this to be turned on. I would never leave my spawn area. Why do it? I would just sit in my spawn and win every round 100-0 as the other team tried to rack up kills on me that don't count meanwhile i'm picking them off and scoring as usual. The invulnerability is 10x more spawn protection than most games get. Don't get greedy.

    Great point sir.

  5. LEARN TO FIGHT YOUR WAY OUT!!! It is actually part of the fun of this game. Oh people cry about the imbalance of the M99 and the GL......this is where they work really great. USE them to get out...use your smoke nades.....use silencers, use your frags...figure it out with tactics and please..stop crying and whining. It is really getting old...Rise above the challenge instead of ...."OH I got raped in the spawn...the game needs to change so it can accommodate me."

This is exactly the type of attitude which really ticks me off  I hate to burst your bubble, but trying to get average players on a public server to "fight their way out" doesn't work. If your team is being spawn raped with enemy players camped in extremely hard to hit positions, you have exactly a couple of seconds (if that) to react before they kill you. Sometimes I find I can't even switch to my hand grenade fast enough before I'm dead. You get two, three or four reasonably skilled players surrounding your spawn in hidden or hard to hit locations and shooting right into it and they will rack up at least twice to three times the kills your team will, if not more. They win the match, it's no competition. You might manage to recover after respawning a dozen times, but guess what, a lot of servers now have spawn limits (like the 3 respawn limit on the BDA servers), so you're royally screwed in those cases.

Team stacking is also already becoming evident, where the experienced players will all move to the winning side (since the servers don't autobalance by default). So it's next to impossible to "fight your way out" when your team is full of semi-skilled or relatively new players vs. highly experienced players.

I'm getting damn tired of being called a whiner, and to be honest I've had a gutful of the attitude the "GRAW community" - namely the like it or lump it thing that keeps coming up. If you're so damn keen to block out new players, then I recommend you password lock your servers. Sadly I won't be able to get a refund on GRAW 2, but I will pay close attention to what GRIN does with this game, and will warn my readers accordingly. Best that more people don't drop money on this game until it becomes clear how much of the game is going to be fixed.

I've tried to give constructive feedback on this forum, reporting real problems, bugs and issues which not only affect me, but actually affect many other players. I'm not getting "owned" online, I can hold my own. Yet all I see here are people insisting that everything is perfect, and that I must be a whiner. All games require balance adjustments and improvements, GRAW 2 in particular has physical bugs and gameplay balance issues which need to be patched out, not left up to modders. But I see no sign of GRIN or the community even acknowledging or addressing many of the important issues. No word from GRIN on things like the nonsensical awp-like M99, or the spammy GL with no minimum range. No word on any genuine spawn protect options. No word on making all the objective modes actually reward players for achieving objectives rather than kills.

But hey, if all you guys want to do is spawn rape and awp each other then all the best to you. If that's what a tactical shooter is to you, I'm really not patient enough to contribute further suggestions. If the community is not mature enough to let the game evolve and remain balanced, fair and genuinely tactical, then no amount of code or gameplay changes by GRIN will alter the generally poor state of GRAW 2 online.

Anyway last post on these forums from me, I'll find better things to do with my time.

Easy guy. If someone doesn't happen to agree with you doesn't mean the whole community is a bunch of jerks. Also, maybe if more people disagree with you than agree, maybe you need to re-think your position. Read my whole post. Like I said before, if you really don't like it, find a server with no re-spawns. Its that simple. If a team gets pushed back into it's spawn, are you saying the advancing team should just hold off? It is a battle, and when you lose you lose. I gave some pretty reasonable solutions for you. Fight out of it. It is never impossible. And if it is really "impossible" then take your medicine that round and try to give it back next round. Nothing to get angry about, or threaten that "your readers" will get your negative feedback about GRAW2.

There are always no-respawn games and it sounds to me like you would enjoy them much more. I personally prefer the no-respawn games, but sometimes I want to go for more kills with no waiting. With unlimited spawns, sometimes I get pinned in the spawn, sometimes I pin people in the spawn. It is the nature of the beast. Maybe unlimited respawns is just not for you. No need to get all aggro about it.

Roo - this one is for you:A GRAW2 Spawn Camp Narrative

  6. There will always be spawn killing if:

1.You Play TDM with unlimited respawns....The only objective here is to out kill the other team...plain and simple.

2.The team getting spawn camped just sits in the spawn and takes it.

    3. the team getting spawn raped decides to cry complain call names and not bust out. This is what your gl is for...use it.

The fact that there is no clear objective except for "team with most kills wins" in TDM is the reason for spawn getting camped...that and map design, and I don't think map design is the true issue.

Gametype.....we need other gametypes. HH is great, but there are some tweaks that need to be made to the gametype to make it a winner.....just my opinion. Same with RvsA.

There is no tactical gameplay? Anyone ever hear of the BSR server? It has been active since the game was released. 0 respawns and I think 10 minute rounds? Take your time and use some tactcal strategy, and you will survive and get some kills. If you die in the first few minutes, your bad, learn from it and play the next round smarter. Rarely if ever a private server. I'll go out on a limb and say it is probably the best server out there. No lag, No BS. No spawn raping.

As far as this no point for kills in the spawn....it is not a "good thing" like some are suggesting.

What about match play. Will this effect the outcome of matches, especially if some teams choose to play multiple spawn matches? Say its you against two on the other team. They know they have you by points. They retreat to take cover in the spawn. You find them, kill them both...both kills don't register? Am I correct here?

LEARN TO FIGHT YOUR WAY OUT!!! It is actually part of the fun of this game. Oh people cry about the imbalance of the M99 and the GL......this is where they work really great. USE them to get out...use your smoke nades.....use silencers, use your frags...figure it out with tactics and please..stop crying and whining. 7. Here is something I posted about way back. Now that there is a 1 frag limit on kits and a 2 frag limit on gl, this would be sweet.

Just something I'm throwing out there, lets see if anyone cares to pull it off.

Suggestion: A gametype that was popular(at least on the MAC side, don't know about Windows) in GR1.

Warzone We played this gametype on the Damn R6 ladder.DBL

Details: To obtain control of the Warzone (marked by grey smoke) simply run through the central area (smoke) marked on your map. The smoke would then change to the color of the corresponding team. Very similar gametype to HH but the twist that works really well is that You DO NOT have to stay in or around the central area to Maintain Control. The team that maintains control for 3 consecutive minutes wins. After maintaining control for 1 minute you will receive a text message, after 2 minutes you will receive another text message and hear a siren. You can also win by eliminating all opposing teams.

Usually played with zero spawns and a 10 minute timer.

This gametype prevents camping/raping, and is really fun to play....very tactical. Would love to see if its possible, and if someone can pull it off.

    Thanks in advance.

Now with this in mind, I'm sure if anyone was interested in creating this gametype, I definitely could suggest 4 random spawn sites, and smoke area.

This game mode does in fact prevent random camping around the map. There is an objective to TvT play....I know there are sKeptics out there.......I am just trying to find out, can it be done?

    SAR - Search and Rescue.

Rebels have the Hostage in a random site on the map.

Ghosts have to secure the hostage.

If the hostage is rescued and returned to the LZ Ghosts win. If all Rebels are eliminated, Ghosts win.

Maybe a time limit is set on how long you have to rescue the hostage(s)

Or even a bomb can be strapped to the hostage. Where diffusing the bomb is only part of the objective.

Rebels win by defending the hostage from rescue.

    Any other suggestions?

    Assasination

Kill the Rebel General. Randomly selected from the Rebel team each round. Identified only be Officer's Uniform. Somehow incorporate the tagging system , where the General Can be Tagged. Fades out after a certain amount of time not being spotted.

Ghosts have to seek out and Assasinate.

CTF - Capture the Flag. No Need to explain.

I wish I had any scripting skills, like Rugg, I am art & design oriented, no scripting experience, except for Flash.

  8. I dunno what's up, but I was playing on =XE='s server (which, no offense XE, is crap full of lag) but the first two grenades I threw never detonated, then approximately 10 seconds later I heard a *BOOM* and I was charged with a suicide. In one instance I had a team mate standing beside me and he got killed by my grenade that apparently never truly left my hand. Ever since those first two though, I have not been able to duplicate it. Both were on Fort within proximity to the Northern stairways. Both times my grenades were being thrown on the stairs.

No they did not bounce back and I was nowhere near them when they were supposed to detonate. Like I said, there was no explosion until about 10 seconds later when I would blow up as if the grenade was still in my hand.

Dude...had that happen to me a few times on public servers, usually pretty full ones with infinite spawn. The infamous Yo-Yo nade. I think it is probably some sort of lag spike....you see the nade fly far far away...no explosion..then :hmm: BOOOM!!! :o your dead. Have not had that happen on any server that is running smoothly.

A few nights on the AFZ server my ping pinned out at 999 when I usually get between a 30-70 ping. When I got around that 999 I got the yo-yo nade and also I would unload on someone's head full auto, never see them drop, then approximately 5 seconds later I would hear "Enemy Down". I am sure someone can explain it.

  9. Okay, here's mine. I think it's hilarious because I tried to make it as stupid as possible. I think it's funny because of its un-funny-ness:

    http://www.grapheine.com/bombaytv/index.ph...8a8bd35e51eab54

I expected a little more from you there Roo. A bit disappointed. :(
    What? Did you see it?

    LOL...an eggroll!!!!! :lol::lol:

:D:D:D each i represents one of his heads!!! good stuff.

Disappointment retracted. Un-funny-ness? I think not.

  10. I'll bring it back on topic....

    This, btw:

    - Fixed some collision issues on multiplayer maps.
...includes all the glitch reports I've collected... if I remembered to fix them all on Crashsite mainly. Also some other places you could get stuck in found by UBI (thank you), especially on The Cut.

Another issue that is fixed and not listed is:

    - Fixed decal material type for footsteps and impact sounds on MP maps
... on 5 of the 8 MP maps, which where set to dirt all over them. :wall:

Excellent Wolfsong. The collision around objects is huge especially on Crashsite.

The impact sounds is another great fix. Grass should be used for stealth to quiet down footsteps...instead of the always crunchy sounds of dirt. GJ

You know, I have one simple request. And that is to have sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads! Now evidently my cycloptic colleague informs me that that cannot be done. Ah, would you remind me what I pay you people for, honestly? Throw me a bone here! What do we have?

    MONDAY MONDA MONDAY! Can't wait....GJ.

OMG!!!LOL HAHAHAHh Nicely done Viper.:lolup:
