  1. Wrong, in HH you are never forced to go for the "smoke win". If you were the last man alive on your team and down in smoke time, the best option was normally to go for an elimination win, not to go for the smoke. You have to have matched HH no respawns to really know the gamemode and how it played out.

It happened just as much as in LMS that single player defeated the 3 remaining enemy and won (especially if you knew they were stupid enough to all guard the smoke...)

    Exactly.

This is how we had it set up The difference here is the 3 minute timer, and not having to stay in the smoke. :

    Victory Conditions:

In Last Man Standing mode (LMS), a win is when one team eliminates the entire opposing team, or is the team with the most people left alive when the game timer expires.

In LMS, a tie is when both teams have the same number of players left alive at the end of the game. This includes when both teams have been eliminated, leaving no one alive. (I don't think I have ever seen this in GRAW bullet to bullet :( a damn shame too)

In LMS, a loss is when a team is eliminated entirely killed or has fewer players alive than the other team.

In Warzone mode (WZ), a win is when one team eliminates all opposing forces, or controls the WZ for 3 uninterrupted minutes.

In WZ, a tie is when neither of the above-mentioned objectives is met, regardless of the number of players alive on either team. The game will declare a draw by announcing that the WZ has not been taken. If this happens, it is a tie.

In WZ, a loss is when one team is completely eliminated, or when the other team has controlled the WZ for 3 uninterrupted minutes.

I am just making a case for this gametype because I enjoyed it so much. HH is real fun in my opinion, with a few tweaks like this it could be pretty sick, but if you guys don't seee it, I'll settle for HH or TDM. I had a lot of fun playing 0 respawn HH on our server last night. Would love to see more 0 respawn games popping up out there.

We really could use the ability to play all maps with all gametypes. A real short coming of GRAW.

  2. You can also win by eliminating all opposing teams.

How does this play into a game with an objective like controlling an area for a set amount of time? If all you have to do is elimiate the other team, you have nothing more than a Team Last Man Standing game. This is what made HH so great in GR. Just eliminating the entire team did not get you a win, controlling the area the longest got you the win even if your entire team was killed.

Because if your the only one left you can't camp it out or be camped. The control of the zone is significant in that aspect. In LMS if it is say 2 vs 1 or 3 vs 1, the 3 can go hide and camp and therefore not lose the match. If you did that in warzone, that 1 remaining on the other team can tag the smoke and is therefore in control. Then you go hunting. In HH you have to stay in the smoke to gain points, but if you are the last one left vs a few, your a goner...most likely naded to death.

This is where your game type falls apart. The last man on the team runs through the smoke and gets killed 2 seconds later, thus losing the round to the other team and not controlling the smoke for 3 consecutive minutes. HH allowed you to accrue time over the course of the round. Even if you were the last one alive and were in the smoke when killed, as long as your team controlled the smoke for the longer period of time, you win, even if your entire team is dead. Big difference between that and last man standing type games which Warzone appears to be, especially if the other team can win by eliminating the opposing team. Remove that caveat and then you may have something.

:hmm: One question...how do you win if you are dead? It would then be a penalty for killing off the other team. Makes no sense.

WK, I didn't make this one up. Warzone is not LMS It was a suggestion to a gametype that was already made for GR1. We matched it for 3 years in the DAMN R6 Battle League, so I know the gametype works, and quite well. And the reason I bring it up is because it is very fun, very intense, and very tactical. I figured it might be something GRAW PC palyers might enjoy. Adds a little twist to HH. The reason why the smoke is effective, is because it brings the two teams to a common objective, instead of just running willy nilly all over obscure corners of the map.

  4. I brought this up once before, maybe not needed as a seperate game type, but options inside each gametype will allow for certain customizations.

Warzone. I loved this gametype for GR1, and it is very matchable, and very tactical. Its a variation of Hamburger Hill with some key differences.

Details: To obtain control of the Warzone (marked by grey smoke) simply run through the central area (smoke) marked on your map. The smoke would then change to the color of the corresponding team. Very similar gametype to HH but the twist that works really well is that You DO NOT have to stay in or around the central area to Maintain Control. The team that maintains control for 3 consecutive minutes wins. After maintaining control for 1 minute you will receive a text message, after 2 minutes you will receive another text message and hear a siren. You can also win by eliminating all opposing teams.

Usually played with zero spawns and a 10 minute timer.

This gametype prevents camping/raping, and is really fun to play....very tactical.

  5. i may be a bit :offtopic:

What I remember most about my Commodore 128 was one of my favorite realistic action games of all time - Gunship.

    LOAD"GUNSHIP",8,1

    RUN

Go take a shower, walk the dog, eat dinner, and by then it should be loaded.

I loved completing the missions, and the anticipation of seeing what medals/promotions I might receive. Or worse off the "you are MIA" screen, or the fiery "you are "KIA" screen. What a great game that was.

You could fit like 10 games on a 5.25" Floppy. Oh the sounds that drive would make. :-

  6. Camping. Some soldiers use a kind of camping method. snipers for example. they do not move much. That's just the way snipers are to be. they aren't supposed to assault an objective. What ###### people off about snipers is they don't act like the other soldiers and run around the map. If i can find a part of the map that gives me great avenues to see enemy, I'll setup there and sit, snipe one or two then move on.

each soldier employs a tactic for his style of fighting.

i love it when folks get ###### at snipers for sitting in a position regardless of the fact enemy soldiers on bearing down on their position.

I hear that. Everyone has their own style of play, and they are entitled to it. Sitting and taking a well covered position, and nailing people is part of the game, and quite frankly, smart tactics.

  7. Ya I play a little R6:V from time to time.. I don't mind the wall lean system they have.. but if you are not against a wall .. you can not slice the pie very well because you have no other means to lean.

You need it include the right and left lean.. I hope the incorporate the line while prone as well.. I miss that feature from GR1.. It needed to be in GRAW

I second the motion. Although the wall cover concept is great in theory, the fact that you are put into a 3rd person view ruins it...coupled with removing leaning, which is a necessity, it doesn't add enough to justify what it eliminated. If it was possible to do it and stay in first person view, it would give the game more 1st person control, but personally if the cover system wasn't added to GRAW 2, I don't think any fan of the game would care. I do however think that if leaning was removed, it would spark an uproar. R6 made a giant mistake removing leaning from the game. RvS had great player control and Vegas sort of loses that, probably why the game never really took off the way past R6's of old. When it comes to an FPS the player (when I say player, I am speaking for myself) wants to feel "in control" as much as possible.(IMO). The ability to lean gives you that more that the cover system. I would also like to see leaning returned to the prone position.

  8. Two buzzkills:

Went to Blockbuster to rent Borat. Was very jealous when there where 2 dudes on line in front of me, both renting GRAW 2 for 360.

Went to Gamestop to pick up MLB07 THe Show for my PSP, when low and behold there was a "Games for Windows" display right in the middle of the store. The game on the top shelf ith 6 boxes -> GRAW2 for PC. Had the PC DVD ROM logo on the front. I scanned the display looking for a coming soon sign..none to be seen. Picked it up and turned it around to see the pictures on the back....different packaging than the 360 box!!! OMG its out?!! No way...the silence on all the forums was them messing with us....the game was due out the same time as 360 after all!!. THis can't be possible....but I will press my luck. I take it to the counter, and hand it to the store manager...."One copy of GRAW 2 please" I said all proud of my find. "For 360?" he replies..."No, for the PC"... He replies..."Oh, that's not due in until the first week of June, would you like to put down a $5 deposit and reserve a copy?" :wall: "Aarrrg! I guess so. :( I hung my head with immature dejection and walked out.

  9. How about some official news on when it will be released? What is the major problem there?

I don't think they would just up and change it for no reason, but stranger things have happened. Still enjoying GRAW 1 MP everynight, so its not so terrible if it is delayed.

If it comes earlier, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Cell, I hope to god all of the UK sites are right and that it comes out late March... I don't think I can handle another GRAW game like the other night w/ you guys :P

Can't wait to see the ladders in GRAW2 like they were in GRAW!!! Good times!

Yeah...always good to see you guys around... honestly its nice to play on some servers that run GL's (attackforcez, bda), I play on other servers that don't run gl's, and are usually populated, and they lag way worse than the servers with the gl's, and the games aren't as fun...way more run and gun. We'll be shooting it up till the release of GRAW 2. We are always on our TS server when we play...you guys should hop on. You can access it through our website...there is a link on the top right. See you on the bf.

  10. as long as they don't let people move while peeking, it's all good. the [GR] lean system would've been great, if it wasn't for the left peek issue. being able to lock yourself in a peek won't be very popular in MP, i'm sure. i just hope Grin surprises us.... in a good way.

Raven Shield had lean and walk, and it was excellent. I could see not being able to run and lean, makes more sense. In the real world you would be able to lean and walk, np. Can't you walk and chew gum at the same time? Try patting your head and rubbing in circles on your stomach simultaneously. Now that's a challenge.

  11. Beretta RX4

A few more weapons would be nice. Maybe 1 or 2 more in each category for now....ex Assault, Sub Mach, Sniper, Shotgun class would be cool, maybe a pistol or 2, few more extras? Incindiary grenade, C4.....Rocket that doesn't need a heat source, Knife, rope would be cool, the ability to climb ladders and ropes ( i know, I'm pushing it).

  12. ^

However it was then corrected. It was said that it was not delayed, they had just made a misstake.

Yeah, just read a few threads about it. Wishful thinking, but then why would I expect us to be treated the same as he consolers(cough cough 360 gamers)? When did we become the red headed step children of gaming?

  13. alright so the mac has been ordered :)

I'm probably going to be using bootcamp (am still looking into parallels though) I'm purchasing Windows XP home, and i'm able to get Office from a friend at work, who is also going to provide me with Symantec antivirus and adaware etc.

A question about book camp though: Do i have to install XP on it right when i get the macbook? or can i wait and install it in like march? i heard you have to install it right away before you start putting other files and everything else on the mac...comments on this?

    Thanks again, :)

Not sure about that one. I actually installed Bootcamp the day I got my imac. I was so psyched to be able to play Windows games on it, that I didn't wait. If I where you I would install Bootcamp and XP at the beginning. Bootcamp partitions your drive to make a "windows drive" on you hd. Might just be cleaner and easier with a fresh hd.
