  1. Damn good job on the cammo GriN. On maps like "the_cut" you really have to take your time to spot the target sometimes. Love the fact that "Recon" is back. Bushes are great hiding spots, and the cammo skins blend in to the vegetation so well. I am finding myself having to use my scope and slowly sweep the terrain in font of me, and still I get popped by someone hiding.

  2. I looked through the forum for this topic and couldn't find it anywhere, so forgive me if its been covered already. I did notice Bota:16's topic about collision, but it was about "bigger than the object" so I didn't want to go off topic. Just making a sort of "bug list" pertaining to objects on the maps that don't allow for proper pass through of bullets/gl's & frags. Be as detailed as you can be, who knows, maybe it will be fixed in a patch.

    1. (I mentioned this one once before)

    Map: Nowhere

M99 can't shoot through telephone pole - I will try and get a specific area of the map, or find out if its the whole map.

    2. Map: the_cut

I was using an M99, I was headed towards the northern spawn, and spotted an enemy camped out behind the chain linked fence. I scoped him out and fired 4 shots with the M99 and nothing. I thought I may have missed him the first time, but I realized that the bullet was not penetrating the chain linked fence.

I had a hand grenade out and tossed it up, it bounced off a palm tree leaf like it was a cement wall. (Almost took out Roco who wasn't too far in front of me, would have been funny, but unexpected) I would think the weight of a frag would allow it to pass through palm leaves/branches, at most maybe slowed down or slightly re-directed.

GL will not pass through leaves of bushes or trees. Noticed on "the_cut" as mentioned, "crash_site" and "timber"

Using the RX4, I noticed that you can't shoot through tree tops (leaves/branches). Can't remember where exactly, I'm thinking it may have happened on crash site, firing up towards snipers from down below in the trenches.

  3. No doubt Sleep. I see Blooz's point, let Grin know they did a great job. I feel the same way as Sleepdoc, I love the game, and suggest anyone to go out and but it. Well done job.

Pointing out some missing things or other features we'd like to see added/deleted/changed should never be taken as negativity/bashing. I have said before, if in the course of creating a patch, that any of these "requests" are manageable to include, was something that was missed by the dev team, or generally sounds like a good idea to add, it would be nice to see.

Maybe it can be taken as "The requests will never end", :wall: just look at it as a community that really cares.....maybe too much. :D

Hopefully the Game editor for modders will take care of many of the requests. :hmm:

Again, great job on Graw2 Grin :grin1:

  4. A tin fence to a .50 cal bullet is like poking a slice of Velveeta with a hot ice pick. It worked in GRAW 1 MP, should work in GRAW 2MP, not sure if that is what you where getting at, but haven't tried that one yet.

I should have tagged someone through a telephone pole on "Nowhere", and I just saw it burst into a dust cloud on the telephone pole right in front of the enemy. No hit indication(should have dropped him). I'll test again tonight.

  5. Doesn't the M99's scope come up the same as GRAW1? If so it should stay that way. I would like to see the .50 cal bullet regain its effectiveness. There shouldn't be many objects on any of these maps that a bullet like that can't go through. Namely a telephone pole.

Two frags would be nice. Gl'ers have 2...just as a compliment.

I also happen to like the kit setups....Otherwise everyone takes silencer, scope & gl's .....its nice now...see everyone using kit variety.

  6. Anyone mention that the M99, that is a .50 cal sniper rifle can not shoot through telephone poles anymore? How unrealistic is that? I'm not sure about other objects either, maybe someone could elaborate on the ballistics of a .50 cal M99, but I do know it should go right though that telephone pole and any corrugated tin fence. It did in GRAW 1.

  7. I did try the "J" button as you suggested Wolf, not the issue. The zooming in is great. If we still had sensors, it would really be an A+ feature. I would like to be able to zoom out the minimap. I find the multimap more distracting than the hud when it gets heated in battle. I do however love that you added a multimap. When the action cools off a bit I can view the entire map closely and plan my attack.

I guess for an example, suggesting this happens in about 3-5 seconds time.I hear something not too far off...footsteps above, quickly I whip out a frag and view the minimap in the hud....clear.....I see a diamond, but is it close or near? can't tell because the cliff obstructs...he's walking toward me....don't want to pull up the multimap for fear I may obstruct my view of the enemy....tossing frag......blammo...TK! Yes I do have my multimap button mapped so it is instant to access, no the issue either.

Just a dramatic example. If it is too difficult or too much of a hassle to make this feature possible, that's all that needs to be said. The system is great, a suggestion of more map area viewed in the minimap was all I was getting at. Thanks for the feedback.

And like I stated in the beginning of the thread....Feedback/Suggestion. If in the course of creating patches for this game, any of the things brought up are possible to add, that would be great. THis is not a ###### and whine about GRAW 2 fest...not meant to be anyway. The game is great. Some suggestions from the community are just that. Please don't take them the wrong way.

  8. 15. Mini map in the top right corner..... Can it be zoomed out more? Or give the ability to manually zoom it in and out.

Yep. I could have sworn they had this in one of the demos. did they not? I commented while playing last night that I thought we had that previously and then lost it in from demo to play.... Am i hallucinating?

Try pressing "j" to cycle between 3 zooms. The first one is the most zoomed out, and is the same resolution as the large map found under "m".

I suggest mapping the "m" function to your thumb mouse button (button 4) as you can run as view the map at the same time.

Tested it last night, it does work, but I am looking to have the mini map in the hud zoomed out a two or three more levels. The most zoomed out one happens to be a bit to zoomed for me. Anyone else share this thought? Would like to get more area viewed in the HUD. The Multi map is a sweet addition.

  9. Yup, after I noticed that the update had finally dl'd and installed (status was on "Waiting" for most of the night), I relaunched GRAW2 and CTD 2 times. I happened to be going to bed at that time, so I really didn't continue on with it. Will check it again tonight.

  10. Looks like Xfire has added support for GRAW 2 already. 7/19 update:

    Description

    New support for:

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

D.i.R.T. – Origin of the Species

    Hospital Tycoon

    Mount & Blade

    World in Conflict - BETA

    Mysteries of the Sith

Sword of the New World: Granado Espada

    Transformers: The Game

    Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat

    Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2

    Kwonho

    Great job.

  11. Preorded it from the local Gamestop. The salesman said that is the best thing to do at Gamestop because they don't stock many PC titles anymore. When I got there, there was 1 lone copy on the shelf. They did also have my copy reserved. Its just easier, right down the road from my house. Ususally have at least one copy of any game I'd be interested in. CompUSA had a great selection until they closed it down. Microcenter has a nice variety as well. As far as CompUSA, one of the tech geeks who also happened to be a PC gamer, said it usually takes about 2-4 weeks before CompUSA puts a new release for PC on the shelf. Not so sure about Microcenter's policy.

There is always Amazon.com if it becomes hard to find. It seems they are sub-contracting Target for this one:

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2

    Other products by UBI Soft

    Platform: Windows XP

No customer reviews yet. Be the first. | Accessories

    Price: $49.99

Availability: In Stock. Ships from and sold by Target.

    4 used & new available from $49.99 4?

    Microcenter: GRAW2

Get it, and get on the battlefield!!!!

  12. My first impression after one night is......this is sweet.

Speaking only about the Multiplayer right now. This is only my opinion, and I would like to see what the rest of this fine community has to say. Plus we get to let GRIN know what a great job they did. What you like & constructive criticisms, bashings should go somewhere else (if there are any)

    Improvements/Pluses:

I will add more to this list, the more I experience the game.

    1. Maps are beautiful. Nice variety. Lagoon is pretty damn sweet. Need to play the rest of them more, but that one really sticks out...Crash Site...pretty sick as well :D

    2. Primary weapons are nice.

    3. Sounds is well done.

    4. Loading times are much better. Much better.

    5. Player models/textures look really good.

    6. Loads of hiding spots

    7. Tall grass, more open areas, seems to slow the game down a bit. That's a good thing.

    8. Gamestlye brings back the Recon in Ghost Recon.

    9. Thumbs up on delivering a playable product on release!! (including the first patch). Delays were worth it.

    10. My clanmates are psyched!! Can't wait to match in this game!!!!

What I would like to see changed/fixed/added: Nothing too big, but some little enhancements. I don't know anything about development, but if this stuff is possible please consider it in a patch/expansion. More of a wishlist than anything.

    1. 1 or 2 more hand frags for assault. Demo has 2 GL's Assault needs a better ability to counter that.

    2. Another kit addition for the Rifleman or Recon, can't remember (the Third class....one with the scope) - Sensors? :hmm: to show an enemy on the multi-map only, not with the red diamond?

    3. Maybe smoke for the sniper, MP5 side-arm for M99 kit.

    4. Ability to aim a bit lower when prone on an edge. No ability to look below you at all.

    5. The map that is like Castle...... When you run over the Cement it sounds like running on the grass. Hard to distinguish where your enemy may be. Need sounds of footsteps on cement.

    6. No sound from teammates/opponents GL firing or reloading.

    7. No after round chat.

    8. Ready button so you can cycle through the kits before getting in the game.

    9. A bit more optimization. Vastly improved, but still seems a bit sluggish. I notice it most when using the M99 zoomed in. Didn't have this problem in GRAW1.

    10. A clinking sound when a Frag is bounced off of objects - cement/metal

    11. Replays!!! Like repalys from GR1 or Battlerecorder from BF2 & 2142. Battlerecorder: Never really knew what it was until the other night. I was tooling around in my menus in BF2142 and noticed Battlerecorder. It had a list of games I recently played. I was able to download replays to BF2142 to be viewed. Full games that I recently played! I was able to switch to any player that was in the server at that time and watch them from 3rd person view, not sure if you can see 1st person. Someone more familiar, please elaborate. What a great feature. GRAW 2 needs something similar. It would really ward off cheaters, and allow matches to be saved for later viewing. Please..maybe in a patch or expansion. Consider it GRIN.

    12. incendiary grenades?

    13. Squad Hierarchy?

    14. Ability to open doors

    15. Mini map in the top right corner..... Can it be zoomed out more? Or give the ability to manually zoom it in and out.

  13. First night in the books.

Beautiful. Really reminds me of GR1.....on steroids. Game style is much different than GRAW 1. More tactical (so far) and way more stealthy. Run and gunners won't have the overwhelming advantage anymore. Graphics are sweet even when turned down, maps are fresh & different...not the same yellowish tinge as GRAW1.

As an old GR1 player I would venture to say that those of you who felt put off by GRAW1, really need to give this one a shot. The demo does not do the design and style of the MP maps any justice. After last night Calavera(hopefully spelt right), is my least favorite map by far. GRIN & Ubi did a great job going back to game play roots while making giant leaps toward the future.

BTW: I preorded it from the local Gamestop. The salesman said that is the best thing to do at Gamestop because they don't stock many PC titles anymore. When I got there, there was 1 lone copy on the shelf.
