  1. Hey guys, I don't know how much exposure this topic will get on here, but I've just come across an interesting 'work in progress' total conversion for Crysis. According to the developers site - http://www.cryrecon.com/ - "CryRecon:NanoWarrior a single player total conversion modification of CryTek's "Crysis" running on CryEngine2. We aim to present an entirely new military based first person shooter in the same genre as the "GhostRecon" & "RainbowSix" series." For those of you who enjoy Crysis and the Ghost Recon series, as I do, this might be something to keep an eye on. Of course, you can never tell if these T/C's will eventually be completed, however it appears as this one is a good way into development. Definitely worth a look at what they've completed so far. Cheers, G.
  2. Hi bogiegraphics, cheers for posting in both of my topics It turns out that after experimenting I'm 99% sure it was the v1.05 standalone patch I had downloaded that was causing all the connection issues. I reinstalled GRAW2 on all machines, and ran it (unpatched), and everyone connected fine. Then tried it after using the in-game update utility, patched to v1.05, and everything is working sweet! So yeah, I'm pretty stoked! I remember reading the GRAW2 guide over at TweakGuides, which stated that using the in-game update utility was preferable, but I didn't think it would make any difference. So I guess this is lesson learned. Cheers for all your help guys!
  3. Hi all, I'm pretty new to GRAW co-op (playing campaign co-op at the moment via lan), so just looking for a little info. As the title suggests.... which do you prefer for co-op, GRAW or GRAW 2, and why? The reason for the question is that I can get GRAW working on my lan with my buddies, but I'm having problems with GRAW 2, and would like to know if it's worth trying to get GRAW 2 working. Cheers in advance for any input G.
  4. Cheers for the info guys. I guess there's no way to add respawns. Ahh well, suppose it adds to the tension! Cheers, G.
  5. Cool, will test a dedicated server and see what happens there. Thanks for your help mate, it's much appreciated
  6. Hi Davros, thanks for replying. We are all in the same house, with the comps hooked up via a router, and everyone has taken off/disabled their firewalls. I think we have tried one of the others creating a server, but with the same end result (will test again tonight). One other point to note though; I am running Vista (Home Premium), and the others are on XP Professional (all OS's fully updated etc), not sure if it matters though... Cheers, G.
  7. Hi Guys, I've very recently played my first GRAW co-op with a few buddies over a LAN, and got to say we're all hooked!! I've been a long-time GR and GRAW singleplayer fan, and this just adds so much more to the game. Anyway, I have a question regarding GRAW co-op. We are playing the campaign through, but there doesnt seem to be a way to add any respawns to any of the players. It makes things a little frustrating when I lose a buddie early on in the mission, because then we have to restart otherwise they have to wait a long time for the mission to be completed. Are there any way to include a number of respawns for each player in GRAW co-op (campaign)? Nothing excessive, maybe 1 or 2 respawns each. GRAW is fully patched to 1.35 and will likely include Brettzies mod at a later stage. Any help would be much appreciated!! Cheers, G.
  8. Hi guys, I'm having some trouble setting up a co-op campaign in GRAW 2 with a few buddies, and wondering if anyone might be able to help... Basically, I set up a LAN server and choose 'co-op campaign' (or whatever the name of it is, I'm not in front of my home computer at the moment), which is all fine. My two mates can see the server pop up on their screen, but when they try to load it they just end up timing out. I can see that they are joining the LAN server on my screen (ie the mission briefing screen), but they arent able to be selected, and just end up timing out. Is anyone else having this problem/know a solution?? We all have GRAW 2 fully patched, plus latest drivers etc. What makes it doubly frustrating is that we fired up GRAW 1 co-op and are able to play that right away, with no problems whatsoever (and it's an absolute blast!). Any help would be much appreciated, and cheers in advance for any help/advice!! Cheers, G.
  9. Hi there, Fresh install of GRAW2, and patched to 1.05. Installed the mod, and when I try to start a new campaign I get a CTD, with the following: Crash in application version: 30899.3048 data\lib\managers\groupmanager.dsf(-1): No soldier template named "ALLEN" SCRIPT STACK: data\lib\managers\groupmanager.dsf(0) data\lib\managers\groupmanager.dsf(0) data\lib\script_network\gametype\gametypecampaign.dsf(78) data\lib\script_network\networkmanager.dsf(0) data\lib\setups\setup.dsf(0) data\level\level.dsf(0) Renderer: threaded Physics : threaded Any thoughts?? BTW, thanks for the hard work you have put into this mod Wolfsong, much appreciated! If only I could get it to work... Cheers, G.
  10. Hi there. I've recently purchased a Logitech G15 keyboard (the newer 2007 version) and a Logitech MX Revolution mouse. My question it this: Will the USB 1.0 on the back of the keyboard be able to support the USB transmitter that my mouse uses, or will it be too slow/laggy? Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks, G.
  11. First off, thanks heaps for another great mod Brettzies . You've made me reinstall GRAW2 and definitely breathed some more life into the game. Anyway, initially when I installed this mod using the first method in the .pdf I had similar problems to what some others have been experiencing (after a fresh install and patching of the game). Specifically, I could not view Brettzies weapons/attachments in the mission loadout screen, and the new character models weren't showing up in-game. So after another fresh install/patch I tried the unbundle method and I can say that Brettzie's mod is all working perfectly now. I used a slight variation of whats been described here and copied the 8 unbundled folders plus the 2 others into my GRAW2\Local\English folder so I wouldn't have to change the context.xml. It ended up turning out great, but I'm not sure if it'll cause headaches later on if I try to add other mods... but yeah, anyone having problems should definitely check out debundling first. Hope this helps...... juuungle.
  12. Hi there, I just completed the mission on hardcore. I equipped 2 riflemen with silenced RX4's (with greande attachments) and a zeus each, my sniper with a silenced MSG90, and myself with a silenced M416 (with foregrip) and a zeus. Secondary weapons are your choice, but I suggest also carrying a silenced MP5. Using this loadout my team kicked ass. I would consider using all silenced weapons a must, as I found it a lot easier during the insertion. Hope that helps. G.
  13. Hi all, I have been playing GRAW2 regularly since its release and have noticed something odd about smoothness of gameplay on my system. It seems that whenever I am connected to internet the smoothness drops significantly making for quite choppy gameplay in singleplayer. I am currently using a USB modem as I had connection issues in multiplayer with my ethernet one. With my USB modem connected to my comp (but not connected to internet) gameplay is very smooth. I'm playing 1024x768, everything on high, no post effects, no anti-aliasing. Any help would be much appreciated! My system specs are as follows: Athlon64 3800+ cpu MSI K8N neo4-f motherboard Nvidia 7800GT videocard 2gig dual channel ram Soundblaster Live! soundcard WinXP home Cheers, G.
  14. I couldnt agree more. Did you watch the video review on IGN also? The reviewer complains about your teammates running into the line of fire, yet it is him who directs them there (at 0:42 and 0:53 of the video). The sniper is positioned in the guardhouse specifically to gun down those who run their teammates through that valley without care. I mean, it says right there on the back of my dvd box it's a TACTICAL game, where were his tactics? In short, I have been less than satisfied with 3rd party reviews like the IGN one considering the amount of fun I'm having with this game. GREAT JOB GRIN!
