  1. Hey everyone -

I'm currently creative director on a game project at my university, and I'm trying to find a reference image for our promo artist to look at for the style I want for our teaser poster. The best one that came to mind is one I remember seeing in gaming magazines back in 01/02 for Ghost Recon - it was a "painting" of several Ghosts walking in the wilderness toward the reader with the following text:

WE ARE THE NATION'S CHOSEN FEW WE ARE SWIFT, SILENT, AND INVISIBLE. WE WILL NOT FAIL OUR COUNTRY. WE WILL NOT FAIL EACH OTHER. WE WILL NEVER SURRENDER. WE FIGHT, SO THAT PEACE MAY REIGN. WE ARE THE GHOSTS.

To find it, I've looked all over the internet with a bunch of different search terms in Google images, but I've come up with zip. Can anyone help me out and see if they have an old magazine with the ad that they can scan and send to me or something? Thanks so much!

  2. I just saw a video and it seems that the MP has a cross-comm like thing where you can see the names of either your team or squad mates on the side of your screen like u would be able to in SP (not sure if u can order them around). Is it a Cross-Comm? because if it is it was SOOOOOOOO TOTALLY MY IDEA. *ahem* but is it?

  3. There was so much complaining (rightly so) about Starforce in Ubisoft games a few months ago, that it's only right some thanks is thrown Ubi's way for saving us the hastle of having to having to look out the GRAW 2 disk to play.

    FREEDOM w00t!!

I'm on my second GRAW disk so it's a bit of a relief to know I won; thave to buy another GRAW 2 disk due to wear and tear.

Actually it wasn't just a few months ago, it was easily over a year ago. GRAW 1 didn't use Starforce either, it used SecuROM. Ubi stopped using Starforce after a class-action lawsuit was filed against them because Starforce caused slowdowns and security/hardware issues. Now all recently released Ubi games have used SecuROM (SCDA, R6V, GRAW). The last game to use Starforce from Ubi was either Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, or Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII I believe.

  4. The info on Ghostrecon.com states clearly that "The number of keys will be very limited". Maybe you guys just missed the boat?

Don't hope so for you guys, but it seems pretty logical? :(

Currently, here's the confirmed list of those that got the invite, did the questionnaire, but did not get a 2nd email with key and dl link:

    InsolenceAndHeresy/FA_Insolence (dannyboy1026)

    SillyHalfMexican

    REDMONSTER

    RogueDOC

    jjknap

    [30+]Retlaw

    Stormin

    Hockeystick

    Nutlink

Now, a direct invitation from Ubisoft should precede any cash-oriented offer from any other third party (in this case, Fileplanet). Ubisoft has serious screwed that up.

I have yet to see anyone that got the invite email and completed the survey say that they received the 2nd email with key and link.

  5. What ###### me off was that I was INVITED, did ALL THAT I WAS TOLD, and I haven't gotten my key and dl link yet.

And no, I am not going to get a premium account for this. I just don't want to have something else that my money leaks out to every month. Does $5 fall out of the sky? No? I didn't think so.

  6. Hmmm, I see no sign of an email with my name on it..

    Hopefully something comes soon...

I know they can only select a certain amout of testers.. I just hope those that do get the email and register put some heart into it and actually beta test... I am hoping out of hte let say 200 people they signed up (what ever the real number is) some of them actual have beta testing in their resume.. No offense to those that actually take the job seriously..

    Not giving up hope

Yeh, man see my other post:

    http://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=42997

I've done testing for Patch 1.3 GRAW1, Lord of the Rings Online Beta 3 (which was closed), and STALKER: Shadows of Chernobyl. Hot diggity damn.

  7. here's a copy of my letter with the link removed to prove that I was invited to the beta:

    Dear Ubi.com member,

As a token of our appreciation for your interest in our games and your participation in the previous beta test of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, we are glad to invite you to take part in this closed beta test for GRAW2 PC.

If you are ready to join our team of beta testers, you have until Sunday April 8th to register. The beta test should start on Wednesday April 11th.

To do so, please visit this page and fill in our questionnaire:

    *Link removed*

Please understand that accepting the terms and conditions is mandatory to take part in the beta test. Among these conditions, you must accept not to share any information, screenshot and/or video with persons not taking part in the beta test.

    Thank you,

    Best regards,

    The GRAW2 Team

I did the questionnaire and completed it as soon as I got the letter on April 5th, and yet I don't see a letter with a key and dl link in my inbox. What is up with that? Waaah. :(

If any GRINners are reading this, please help! I even got the following email back from you guys during the Beta for Patch 1.3 (Bo, actually) after I sent you an email directly because I couldn't access the Ubi forums/bug submission page for some reason (kept refreshing the same page over and over again).

    Thanks. Below is the email:

Thank you for going out of the ordinary to make this a great game!

    Best

    Bo Andersson
