  1. Greetings! In the retail industry as a whole, the advent of RF chips has been eagerly viewed as replacement to the Bar Code. The reason that "suppliers" will go for this is because it benefits them with free marketing info.
  2. Greetings! I was going to answer until I reread your postscript.
  3. Greetings! This is hilarious!
  4. Greetings! Check this link for more info on this use of RF chips in Euro bills: http://www.eetimes.com/story/OEG20011219S0016
  5. Greetings! Let me say first of all that the derision and disbelief that this topic brings is not unexpected. In fact the European Union is counting on this as they have been for the 20 odd years since the idea of "a United States of Europe" was suggested by King Juan Carlos II of Spain. Other leaders in Europe such as Helmut Kohl and Francios Mitterrand have worked for many years and the result is a single economic currency, a common passport for all citizens, a parliament , and and now just the start of a Euro Defence Zone. The Euro currency in of itself has changed the markets as many banks are buying Euros in favor of the Dollar. The US media has paid little attention to this subject. But Sec. Colin Powell has not, he was quoted saying that he understands the new facilities in Teruven are a "military headquarters", despite the fact that EU leaders carefully avoided that phrase. General Powell wasn't smiling. He understands the threat of a Europe unchecked, has always led to war and conquest. The US presence in Europe has kept the peace in the west, but France and Germany ironically, are determined to supplant NATO and the US as a security force. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/1032336.stm -------------------- SpecialDetachment(SD)
  6. Greetings! As someone who drives a Jetta, I can say that I've never heard anyone call me anything as I pass them at 120mph.
  7. Greetings! RF chips in a eurodolllar would give the EU government the power to see how much money you have in your pockets and where the money goes. It could control what you purchase and restrict or limit your purchases. This could virtually enslave millions of people, in the hands of an oppressive government.
  8. Greetings! You may or may not have heard of WalMarts decision to introduce RF frequency chip tags imbedded into their merchandise. These transmitter tags would be left inside the articles and actively report marketing info on the customer( i.e. the consumers tastes in products). This raises concerns about privacy and freedom issues, as someone wearing a pair of shoes, shirt, pants, that are tagged, would also report the travels of that individual and not just at the point of sale. With whomever a person came in contact with would also be observed since everyone would have tags too. The European Union also wants to have these RF chips imbedded into the Euro currency. This would effectively control all commerce in a society, in a way that's never been done before! The capacity for abuse by individuals users and governments is huge! I'd be interested in seeing what possible consequences you can see in the use of this technology.
  9. Greetings! I do not believe that you can hold parents responsible when at 16 it is lawful to hold a driver's license in most states. I do not like any laws that hold people accountable for the actions of others including their own children. We are all free moral agents regardless of age and responsible for our own behavior.
  10. Greetings! I like the way you put up the sign letting us know that that's your guns.
  11. Greetings! That looks real nice right out there on the lake!
  12. Are you all going to play this now? I'm at work but can join for one or two.
  13. Greetings! We were playing these until 4am! We'll be around tonight at 8:30 est at 24.128.11.235. BTW the Sniper Swamp was unbelievable with the enemy spawning everywhere and hunting you down!
  14. Greetings! @cajun Nice pic of the twin pistols! I've seen those type before but can't remember the make/model.
  15. Greetings! Regarding the effectiveness of the Eurofighter and other planes like the Mirage, the Germans under the UN(not the EU) went into combat for the first time since WWII in Bosnia in 1993.There they tested themselves against Soviet made AA weapons and showed how good these planes really are.
  16. Greetings! I think four accounts of alligator attacks in Florida shed some light on this subject. One was when a woman was walking her dog on the side of the huge lake in Lakeland when a giant gator ignored the smaller dog and ate the lady. Another was in the same location but a different gator(the other was tracked and killed) a 4yo girl was eaten. The third was by St. Augustine where a 10yo boy and his 6yo sister was on a lake and the girl was saved from the jaws of a 16 foot gator by her 10 yo brother and dad. The last was a married couple in a nudist colony in Pasco who was skinny dipping in a lake, when a gator grabbed the woman by the leg and brought her to the bottom, The husband went under and beat the gators head until it released her, the dragged her towards shore. The gator rallied again, and chomped her by the shoulder and brought her underwater again. The husband a second time dived under and bashed the gators head until it let go of her, and saved her life. A couple of you were asking about the taste of gators. In each case the gator chose the female to eat, I think it's safe to say that gators have impeccable taste!
  17. Greetings! There absolutely no book that Clancy has written that is more unlike Clancy than Without Remorse. In fact I had wondered if he didn't have some help more than once or twice! This story of John Clark staking out drug dealers in the streets of Baltimore is tremendous. But what and who John Clark was all about, was more intriguing.
  18. Greetings! The threat is not just a developing military, but economically as banks are preferring the Euro to the Dollar. This can have profound results in upsetting the world economy. As for bomb shelters, one would be better off studying German, French and Italian and Russian!
  19. Greetings! Having lived in Florida a couple of times and being a frequent visitor, I know what it's like to live with aggressive gators and even the rare american crocodile on the gulf coast. Three summers ago there was at least seven alligator attacks within 50 miles of Tampa during the worst drought in Florida's history. I also know that Florida is overrun with them---you need to check the swimming pool BEFORE you jump in. A gator even walked into a doctor's waiting room in Cape Coral! I also enjoy the hide when used for wallets and shoes. Especially ladies shoes, you see there was this girl in a sundress wearing alligator flats and---well nevermind. If you happen to sell those skins to a leather crafter, see if you can get me a dealie on some shoes.
  20. Greetings! The problem that so many fans, clans and others have is that older gun mods were so unrealistic and took away the skill factor in online competitions. Many newer mods are aware of this and have kept the ranges and accuracy and zoom comparable to the original GR. But not all in the original GR weps is true to life. One thing that bothers me most is the original pistols---they are horribly unrealistic and almost useless! The SMG's are not much better, is there anything worse than a SA25? The MP5 in real life is supposed to be accurate at 100 yards and its 9mm should have some stopping power, but in the original it's a peashooter. GR is a combat sim and should have as realistic an experience as possible. I don't think a sniper rifle should miss 3 shots in a row at 8 feet just because the reticle isn't closed, at that range you point and shoot and blow them away.
  21. Greetings! Thanks for the link--very engrossing stuff!
  22. Greetings! Thanks for contributing to the discussion! As for the US spending, you must remember that the military was severely gutted during the 8 years of the Clinton Administration. The US is now at war and trying to catch up on restoring the military capabilities it had in the past. Even with that fact, the quote from TIME magazine(who was largely anti-war) seems preposterous, and to use US Dollars as a basis of comparison is skewed. The GNP is the only fair way to compare spending, with the understanding that currencies fluctuate in value. As for single language and culture---we in the US don't even have that! Standardized equipment and procedures have been refined through NATO, although the new EU Military Headquarters outside Brussels is looking to supplant NATO with a new structure. The common currency of the Euro and the new European Constitution gives Brussels control over all forces and policy, while it's members surrender their sovereign status. The Sunday Times column from William Rees-Mogg asks the rhetorical question---"Does he(Tony Blair)have the realism to recognise that the proposed European constitution is intended to cut Britain away from the United States?".
  23. Greetings! With a combined strength including all services, of about 40,000 members(includes rear echelon), Canada first needs to decide to have a military. Instead it has relied on the US for it's security needs. Interesting that Quebec secessionists gave no thought as to how they were going to defend a new state.
  24. Greetings! You talking about the west coast of the Hudson?
  25. Greetings! Allow me to translate---fraps = fps or frames per second
