Yeah, but you have to admit: It's pretty funny when your team lays down a huge wall of fire on what they thought was a tango, only to have a rabbit come hopping out of the smoke a few seconds later. Not that I've ever done that, mind you.

It's sad to see anyone get laid off. Part of me has to say though, that if Ubisoft actually made good games, then perhaps they wouldn't have to layoff employees. How many times can a company throw out duds like Lockdown or R6: Vegas, before people stop buying that company's games altogether?

Saying "I'm all for racial profiling" doesn't explain the rationale behind the thought, DS. Granted, some people will get their panties in a twist at the mere mention of racial profiling, because they don't stop to think about what profiling really is, and why it works. The article you posted is certainly telling, on that latter subject. How often is the practical, effective solution overlooked, because the right person (or company) knows whom to pay off?

I fail to understand how "Islam will dominate the world - Osama is on his way" is not religiously motivated. The ###### should have gone to jail. Another part of the quoted article bothers me as well: "The case comes after a senior judge ruled on Thursday that Christian beliefs had no right to protection by the courts." Only Muslims get religious protection in the U.K., apparently. So glad I didn't move to the U.K. back in the late 90's as I was planning to do.

Thanks for the clarification, Snowfella. I don't mind the 'enhanced' security screenings so much. What I mind is that they're reactionary, and targeting the wrong people. Who are the people trying to blow up planes? Let's be honest, and put PC nonsense aside for a moment. The people trying to blow up planes are Muslims of Middle Eastern descent. Want to thwart terrorism? Start checking everyone that fits that profile. Start with people coming from Middle Eastern countries. I know, that sets the bleeding hearts all aflutter and hurts feelings, but the truth is the truth. No, the US government will never do that, though. It's better to make EVERYONE feel like a criminal, than to profile the groups that typically commit the actions you're trying to prevent. Instead, we'll have the TSA go and pat down toddlers and laugh at pretty teenage girls coming through security. If the US is serious about preventing terrorism, then we'll focus on the people who've been threatening our security. Until that happens, all of the scanners and pat downs are useless.
Further, I'll reiterate that (and correct me if I'm wrong), aside from 9/11, almost every single attempt to blow up a plane has originated outside the United States. Richard Reid, the shoe bomber, was flying from Paris to Miami. Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the underwear bomber, was flying from the Netherlands to Michigan. The recent incidents involving explosives hidden inside computer equipment originated in Yemen. Each of these incidents has prompted American authorities to tighten down travel security, even though none of them originated in the United States. Each of them has also been perpetrated by fanatical Muslims. Ergo, if we're serious about security, then we'll tackle the source of the problems. But of course, the American government wouldn't want to offend Muslims everywhere by profiling, so we'll search everyone else. That's the issue.

Oh just get over it already. Sure your meager personal rights might be violated by a pat down but I'm sure that in 99% of cases the guy/gal doing it is just doing their job like they have been told to, just like your doc is the next time he/she reaches into your pants and tells you to cough...or god forbid sticks a finger up your poo chute to check the prostate.
One thing I am sure of though...is that all the civil rights nutters who so strongly object to these screenings will totally change their tune if security is lessened and someone straps a bomb to their body, or for good effect to their kids body, and takes down a flight. And I'm sure there are ppl out there capable of doing just that without so much as a second thought.
And when if does happen it will all of a sudden be the TSA or whatever security institutions fault for not detecting it.
I'm trying to decide if you're joking, or if you're serious. I hope that it's the former.

Nothing worse than people wrapping themselves in an armor of "rights" and "protections" as they blatantly violate them in the name of some cause or their own twisted sense of equality. You can't do that to me because I'm X and that's a crime! But because I'm X I can do that to you without repercussion!
We're dealing with the Westboro Baptist Church nonsense right now (as Para mentioned) and I'm almost afraid of how that will turn out. I'm so torn on the issue I don't know what to think. It's scary. And I know once a decision is made and the long arm of the law starts acting (or not) we'll feel the heat.
I am happy to say my meal at Applebees on the 11th was pretty outstanding, and free.
Just like America! Woo!Speaking of those WBC fools, did you happen to read about the recent incident where they tried to protest a funeral, were turned away by protesters, and then returned to their van to find two tires slashed? The best part is that no one in town would help them. They had to drive way out to a WalMart or something to get their van fixed. I don't normally advocate destroying people's property, but in the case of these WBC fools, I think it's great.

Although Remembrance Sunday is this weekend, Remembrance Day is always of course, the 11th of November. Yesterday, Muslim protesters tried to interrupt the two minute silence near Hyde Park in London. Not content with that, they also burned a large poppy.

I'll never understand why people put up with BS like this. In the US, we have the fools from the Westboro Baptist Church who pull equally-idiotic stunts, and somehow .... it's legal. But here in the US, everyone has the right to free speech (no matter how foolish their ideas may be) and in the UK, honestly it seems to me that your government is afraid of offending Muslims. I tend to agree with part of Zeealice's sentiment: if you hate the country that badly, then leave.

I'm not going to name them publicly, because they aren't the type of people who want attention drawn to themselves, but when I didn't have the money to feed my family, there are guys here who came through for me and showed themselves to be true friends.
