  1. Cool K,Sep 20 2003, 13:44 ] I've got a lot of friends :D

Snedker, you should consider joining a bigger clan

Besides that I agree with your point of view re the forum voting...

    :P

    /Snedker :rocky:

PS: we're still missing out on that one on one...wuzz...

  2. Know what you may think.."yeah yeah..didn't get any votes, so he's ######...". Well this is not a ######-off post, just my point of view regarding the on-going poll. :)

However, trying to disregard the fact i've got two votes...the voting sux.

The one getting the most friends/clanmembers to vote get the most votes. Since I didn't succeed in gettin' those lazy fat-azz BAD's up from the couch to vote for me, I'll just have to be objective! :-"

Main thing is: the poll hardly says anything about the quality of the sigs.

I'd like to have had the two first votes still being there (with the sigs on two differint threads)...as I bet they wouldn't have the (nearly) same number of views...(figure that!)

Got my mind spoken there. No hard feelings, though - as we're just having fun. ;)

Personally i'd like to see Rocky win.....name is clear, topic is clear...and it looks great.

    Cya folks! :rocky:

    /Snedker

PS: did notice that the poll is not an actual judging

  3. Maybe i'm somewhat off-topic...but don't know where else to put it...

A few members of BAD, including myself, find it quite entertaining playing HH on Red Square with guns only. Actually it's quite a good exercise in precision shooting...you ought to try it sometime.

How do you feel about the guns only?

If a bunch of you are up for it, we're up for a friendly match! ;-)

Sorry for the dead links in my sig...out site changed recently..

  4. Cool K,Sep 4 2003, 20:20 ] Snedker, join me on an one-on-one NOW, and let's post the result here afterwards...

    Yeah...let's take a sharpshooter....10 minutes....Red Square....pistols only...at the break of dawn...if you've got the guts...?

emptying my glass of whisky without a facial twist. Calmly leaves the saloon while dusting off the Stetson upon my west

    Cya....punk! :o=

  5. Heeeey, Cool...nice seing you around this little contest!!

I really hope you win...I mean...when you can't beat our azzes in the field, maybe you can get some of the hairs on your chest showing here..

    /Snedker

    PS: Nice sig, though! :rocky:

  6. Will do, I hope I didn't let you down with my enrty, hopefully ya learned me good and I applied it correctly!

That's not really important. The important thing is: are you satisfied!? :rocky:

A few months ago I did my first whole flash-site: Soglimt Try go there and choose the link . "Kontakt"

It's a Danish site (miniature horses), so there'll not be much understanding..however the flash is what it is....but I like my little thing there with the car...(remember to watch the text "Oversigt" at the bottom left... ;)

  7. Test:  Guys, is this movement-for-movement's sake?  What might I do to make it a bit more appealing?  Or can i not ask before a contest?

I think it's movement for the sake of movement.

First of all I don't like the highlander-text in the eye. It's difficult to read...and I can't help thinking "why is it there"...

Try imagining the green tech in the eye...if that itself had some kind of movement. Maybe you could make a mini-flash of the green graphic itself and give it some sort of animation? Remember you can put a flash within a flash (Insert, Content using Swish)...you could make some neet things with that eye...nice thought!

Also I think you should put in some empty frames so that the flash will rest for a period...else I find it stressing.

And why shouldn't we ask for opinions during the contest? People can answer if they feel like it....or don't.

Well, that was just mind opinion which you can use for what ever you want!

  8. Thx mate! I tried with a flash-thing to begin with, but somewhat difficult to keep it within the 50Kb limit. <_<

Even tried to reduce pictures to gray scale and GIF. But to my surprise this increased the size of the files...considerably!?

Never mind...now I've been pinned to the virtual world, which gives a worry less...at least for me! :rocky:

PS: looking forward to see what people come up with....

  9. Ah, what the heck...

    This is officially mine:

    <EDIT>

Came to regret the explanation of picture. Should be up to the viewer. <_<

    Done with Adobe Photoshop 7.

  10. ...but never the less mind grabbing:

    - Our own Milkyway is one galaxy consisting of more than 100 billion stars

    - It has a diameter of about 100.000 light years

    - There are over 100 billion galaxies

    - It takes sunlight 8 minutes to travel to earth

    - The nearst star, besides the Sun, is 4.3 light years away

    - The star discorved furthest away is showing us a light that has been on its way for about 4.5 billion years (nearly the age of the universe)

    - A collapesd (neutron) star has a mass of 10^17 kg/m3. Or in other words: one teaspoon of the star would weigh about 100.000.000.000 kilos (try hiding it in the couch before the moving company arrives)

    - If an astronaut should ever glide towards a black hole he would be torn to atoms while his feet would travel much faster than his head

But hey, who gives a duck...we've got GR!

  11. I then looked at my pc and the little SOB had wiped all my mod work folders, opened Notepad and typed "Thou shalt not use our good name in vain."

I looked sternly at the goat who then ran past me having bit through its tether, it shot down the stairs and into the evening light.

Project Goat Recon has been cancelled. I'm so very very sorry to all who were looking forward to this.

Sh!t happens dude, and you're long past forgiven!

  12. I remember reading something about the contest running for a period of two weeks.....when is the next starting?

Or maybe I just missed on some reading elsewhere?

    /Snedker

  13. Just want a bit of feedback on this sig.  I am trying some new things.  Lookout, movement is next.

It looks great HilandR. I really like your background picture in the first place, and your flash text goes nice with the rest.

But if you could get the background into some sort of movement as well...the subtle way...it would be really cool. But as you stated yourself: it has to start somewhere! But working on the background (instead of text only) is where I'll try to go myself...I'm in the learning phase as well.

Also, looking at your avatar: try putting in a stop so that you have eg. 100 empty frames. This way your text will stay for a while before looping again.

Hope Swish becomes you...I like it anyway.... :rocky:

Looking forward to watch you move along. :)

    Regards

  14. I personally believe that, while it is my constitutional right to keep and bear arms..-snip-

Because a law is rightful it doesn't necessarily make it sensible. I'm sure you also find some laws foolish.

If baring a firearm in public is legal, I'd agree with you that the rules for applying in Florida make sense - I don't argue that.

My argue is that the volume (#) of weapons in public is a problem. It's to easily accessed by those who shouldn't have it. If that should affect every other law abidient citizen is a matter of temper and conviction.

  15. I haven't checked how many replies on this thread come from the US. But as I said in my first posting: we come from different places and see things differently.

For the public to carry firearms legally in Denmark, from where I come - or any other Scandinavian country for that matter - is not even an issue. It's not even a matter of debate!

I live in a country worth 43.000 square kilometers inhabited by +5 million people - you've got 4 times that figure in NY alone!

This fact along with a whole other historical background (it doesn't take more than a hundred years to take us back to The Wild West), makes it natural that we don't have the same scense of "own safety".

However, one red line through pro-public-firearms postings in this thread: you minimize the harm of firearms by saying, it's just at matter of raising kids properly giving them a "healthy" relationship to firearms. And that is great, truly! But what about all the other cases...?

In the US there has been several cases of people murdering other people with firearms - either own or parents. I'm sure public-firearm-pros' have a valid explantion....I can just conclude that we don't have the same problems where I live.

If this is a fact due the illegality of public firearms or another cultural background, I'll leave for you people to conclude...
