I've always wondered...is it possible to create a completely new SP mission and just replace on of the original missions with it? I don't mean a modification of something like VIP 2, I mean a complete replacement of VIP 2.

Athenian is correct, you do not need to re-render the lightmaps unless you added new physical items (props, statics, etc). Changing zones, however, does not require you to do another several hour render.

Hmmm......with a custom map and a little mod, it would be possible to have two tangos go at it.
As for the Bruma guards, I stole a little something something from one of the shops, got busted, but another guard seemed to feel sorry for me. That or it was a bug, but a rather nice bug. Didn't have to pay a fine at all since they offed each other at the same time!
Edited because I misread Kurtz previous statement due to lack of sleep and Red Bull.

Alright, I found/saw two different things from SP and one from [GR] Coop. The first thing is.....you can stand on your tip toes?! I JUST found this out, never knew this before. I suppose I should have paid more attention to the little tips in the corner at the beginning of each mission. For those who do not know how to do this, press the button that does stance up. Default is V (I use space). It's mostly useless, but I can think of a few times it would have been nice to know this.
The next two are videos. The first one is of a tank flying around during [GR] Coop. I was the only one who saw this, and everyone else saw the tank as it was supposed to be. This is the second or third time I've seen this, but it's still entertaining seen the Helitank floating around.
Come one, come all, see the amazing Helitank!
The last thing is a little glitch found in the second mission, Coup. The APC at the end. You are supposed to extract at the rooftop, but as soon as you get to the parking garage you can get in the APC in the usual manner. Once you're in though, you can't get out.
Interesting stuff you can find.

I know some servers used to keep track of stats, but I'm not sure if any of them do anymore.

Some good Aussie sites to buy PC hardware from:
-
Step One - Download patch 1.30
Step Two - Install patch 1.30
Step Three - Create a profile for multiplayer
Step Four - Enjoy!

I have that exact same model (minus the LED), and it works great. Hope it helps fix your problems. Great looking models too, can't wait to see it done!

Hey deuce, how long have you been into the Gr series?
What does that have to do with anything? Can you think of games out there that you didn't care for the first one but loved the second or third entry into the series? I didn't care for the Splinter Cell games at first, but Chaos Theory was great. Never really cared for Morrowind, but I loved Oblivion. And lets face it....Rainbow Six Lockdown absolutely sucked, but that doesn't mean that Vegas is going to be horrible either.

Well, you scripted most of it Johnny

Damn those deadlines!

Check under where you have GRAW installed. Look under settings, then servers (you have to have the server profile saved). Open up the .xml that is in there. Look for
<map_cycle value=""/>
Inside the quotes put in the maps you want to cycle

no HDR this time. give us Anti aliasing is what we want, no jaggies.
<sigh> Yet another misconception. It is NOT HDR lighting that doesn't allow us to use AA, it is the deferred lighting. HDR+AA is possible (See Radeon 1xx0 series cards, the Chuck Patch, and Elder Scrolls: Oblivion).
Keep the HDR.

I've noticed that too, but I think it has to do with the draw distance. The low LOD gets replaced after 147m (I think that's what it was). Nothing I think I can do about that unfortunately

If I DO find a way around this though, rest assured it will be included with the other converted maps when I release it as a map pack.

I wouldn't be surprised to see an expansion to the PC GRAW and a full fledged sequel to the 360. Who know's though, we'll see what happens.

After a lot of testing and a lot of changes, the final version of this map is now available for download. Feel free to post any problems you may notice, both major and minor. Everything should be clean cut, though. Enjoy!

GRAW came out on Xbox before PC and from what I see on the Xbox is just much smoother. It is a darn shame you have to have some SLI or crossfire or a ridiculously expensive graphics card to run GRAW on PC at a steady 40 FPS.
Myth. Granted I have a 7900GTX now, but when I was running the game on a 6800XT, the game ran fine for me at 1280x1024, med settings. A steady 40-50fps, but I was bottlenecked by my CPU (which has changed as well). If you get a lot of lag during heavy firefights and explosions, it's a good chance your CPU is the problem. Not directly at you, but people should take a little more care with their PCs. This game runs decent on a 9800Pro at low settings/800x600. Not bad, but then again people will be saying the same thing when Crysis is released.
Ubi seen that there upsetting all the PC gamers from the [Ghost Recon] series so they decided to launch a PC version of GRAW but not from Red Storm. They did not even decide to use the same engine. Instead we get a contractor called grin to make the game. Then they decide to use the diesel engine which is the worst for a graphics intense game. This is like when you try and get a job then you find out the job position is actually contracted through a agency and your not working for the actually company. Therefore you get paid half of what the job is really worth. Therefore we get half the game of what we should be getting.Considering reviews (look up metacritic, I'm too lazy to point the link again) the game received rather good reviews overall from almost everywhere. It's almost on par with GR1. Like many developers have stated before, it's hard to create a good game for a small niche while trying to make it good enough for your average gamer. Like tactical shooters.
There are so many bugs in GRAW PC that it should not even be released yet. Even with the release of like 5 or 6 patches the game still is terribly buggy. Over 200 meg patches and game is still not processing the textures consistently. I have a 7800 GT over clocked and GRAW has lag on it on single player. My system is 64 3800 dual core with 2 gig RAM with 7800GT OC. Even with textures on medium the game is slow.
I bought a 7800GT to replace my 6800XT (which was upped to a 7900GTX thanks to EVGA's step up program) paired with a Athlon 64 3200+. Same card, and the single core version of your CPU. The game ran quite smoothly for me (med textures as well because high textures causes lots of studdering due to the size of the textures). Their might be other problems with your system.
So I guess what I am trying to say is us PC gamers are getting shafted. It really is a shame that it’s like this. Really is…..I am glad I did not register my game because I’m going to sell it to someone who doesn’t know any better. I am not trying to offend anyone but this seams to sum all of it up for us PC gamers. We don’t even have enough tournaments with GRAW to come close to all the ones on Xbox. Now with GRAW 2…… lol. Some of you ask what platforms will be supported….well use that common sense. The PC version will have to be made by Grin….which in turns means its going to run slow and buggy. See you guys on some other game I am out.I agree with the first part, the PC gamers are getting shafted, but not only with GRAW. Take a look at BF2142. It is nothing more than a mere mod for BF2 (same engine, same bugs, same everything except a little different gameply...oh, and ingame advertising).
However, as for saying if GRIN developes the PC version of GRAW 2 will mean the game will be slow and buggy.....then what does that say about RedStorm and Lockdown?
If you feel the game is buggy and slow and not worth playing, that is your opinion, and I can respect it. To a certain extent I even agree with you on a lot of it. There are some things, though, that have shown me otherwise. To each his/her own though.
(No flaming, insults, or disrespect was intended in this post towards anyone)

It's a completely different game, OSPerry. If it's only $5 and your hardware can run the game, I'd say it's worth it. Costs less than a beer at some bars anyway.

how is it going anymap done?
if it took 2 days to make a map, man would we have _alot_ of maps!

Pssh, I can make a map in less than an hour! Of course, that doesn't mean it'll look pretty....

Or they may be leaving it up to us to figure out a way around (like adding friendlies to a map even though you can't give them orders), or replacing the SP maps with custom maps.
Hi Nutlink, friendlies are hardly helpful in a tactical shooter if we cannot give them orders. I would like the complete thing.
You have put in some good work in the modding department. Can you work on converting [GR] co-op maps to SP ?

You know, I never thought of that. That's not a bad idea, creating a bunch of lone wolf style maps, or adding in some proper friendlies. Once my focus on converting these maps one way is done, I'll take a look into doing that.

I believe that was the first tutorial and the first public version of the editor. Things have changed a little since then.

-
Might be just a freak incident. I've never heard of that happening before. If it happens again, you might have a bad video card.

Click on multiplayer and start a LAN game with you as the host . The problem is that almost all maps have you working lone wolf, but it is possible to add friendly AI, only you can't order them around.
What will GRAW2 be
in GR:AW (PC) - General Discussion
Posted
If history always repeats itself, GRAW would be very much like GR1.
Most games these days published by EA, Ubisoft, and the likes all have short developement cycles to maximize profit. Games produced under id Software, Valve, and Epic all focus on creating the game rather than deadlines. It's a shame that their is so much bashing about this game from [GR] players (considering the rest of the world seemed to like it). I always check out games before I purchase them, and GRAW was no exception. Neither was Raven Shield, or Oblivion, or FEAR, or Quake IV, or UT2004, or CoD2, or [GR], any other number of games I've bought.
Best way to make the companies listen isn't with petitions, or angry outbursts, it's by not purchasing the game. I would rather have a few games that were as good as Oblivion and Half-Life 2 than a bunch of games that were like BF2.
