If history always repeats itself, GRAW would be very much like GR1. Most games these days published by EA, Ubisoft, and the likes all have short developement cycles to maximize profit. Games produced under id Software, Valve, and Epic all focus on creating the game rather than deadlines. It's a shame that their is so much bashing about this game from [GR] players (considering the rest of the world seemed to like it). I always check out games before I purchase them, and GRAW was no exception. Neither was Raven Shield, or Oblivion, or FEAR, or Quake IV, or UT2004, or CoD2, or [GR], any

I've always wondered...is it possible to create a completely new SP mission and just replace on of the original missions with it? I don't mean a modification of something like VIP 2, I mean a complete replacement of VIP 2.

Athenian is correct, you do not need to re-render the lightmaps unless you added new physical items (props, statics, etc). Changing zones, however, does not require you to do another several hour render.

Hmmm......with a custom map and a little mod, it would be possible to have two tangos go at it. As for the Bruma guards, I stole a little something something from one of the shops, got busted, but another guard seemed to feel sorry for me. That or it was a bug, but a rather nice bug. Didn't have to pay a fine at all since they offed each other at the same time! Edited because I misread Kurtz previous statement due to lack of sleep and Red Bull.

Alright, I found/saw two different things from SP and one from [GR] Coop. The first thing is.....you can stand on your tip toes?! I JUST found this out, never knew this before. I suppose I should have paid more attention to the little tips in the corner at the beginning of each mission. For those who do not know how to do this, press the button that does stance up. Default is V (I use space). It's mostly useless, but I can think of a few times it would have been nice to know this. The next two are videos. The first one is of a tank flying around during [GR] Coop. I was the only one

I know some servers used to keep track of stats, but I'm not sure if any of them do anymore.

OK, not quite given up...M4 in progress

I have that exact same model (minus the LED), and it works great. Hope it helps fix your problems. Great looking models too, can't wait to see it done! -
What does that have to do with anything? Can you think of games out there that you didn't care for the first one but loved the second or third entry into the series? I didn't care for the Splinter Cell games at first, but Chaos Theory was great. Never really cared for Morrowind, but I loved Oblivion. And lets face it....Rainbow Six Lockdown absolutely sucked, but that doesn't mean that Vegas is going to be horrible either.

Well, you scripted most of it Johnny

Check under where you have GRAW installed. Look under settings, then servers (you have to have the server profile saved). Open up the .xml that is in there. Look for <map_cycle value=""/> Inside the quotes put in the maps you want to cycle

I've noticed that too, but I think it has to do with the draw distance. The low LOD gets replaced after 147m (I think that's what it was). Nothing I think I can do about that unfortunately If I DO find a way around this though, rest assured it will be included with the other converted maps when I release it as a map pack.

After a lot of testing and a lot of changes, the final version of this map is now available for download. Feel free to post any problems you may notice, both major and minor. Everything should be clean cut, though. Enjoy! File as an .exe File as a .zip

Myth. Granted I have a 7900GTX now, but when I was running the game on a 6800XT, the game ran fine for me at 1280x1024, med settings. A steady 40-50fps, but I was bottlenecked by my CPU (which has changed as well). If you get a lot of lag during heavy firefights and explosions, it's a good chance your CPU is the problem. Not directly at you, but people should take a little more care with their PCs. This game runs decent on a 9800Pro at low settings/800x600. Not bad, but then again people will be saying the same thing when Crysis is released. Considering reviews (look up metacriti

It's a completely different game, OSPerry. If it's only $5 and your hardware can run the game, I'd say it's worth it. Costs less than a beer at some bars anyway.

if it took 2 days to make a map, man would we have _alot_ of maps! Pssh, I can make a map in less than an hour! Of course, that doesn't mean it'll look pretty....

Hi Nutlink, friendlies are hardly helpful in a tactical shooter if we cannot give them orders. I would like the complete thing. You have put in some good work in the modding department. Can you work on converting [GR] co-op maps to SP ? You know, I never thought of that. That's not a bad idea, creating a bunch of lone wolf style maps, or adding in some proper friendlies. Once my focus on converting these maps one way is done, I'll take a look into doing that.
-
Or they may be leaving it up to us to figure out a way around (like adding friendlies to a map even though you can't give them orders), or replacing the SP maps with custom maps.
-
I believe that was the first tutorial and the first public version of the editor. Things have changed a little since then.
-
Might be just a freak incident. I've never heard of that happening before. If it happens again, you might have a bad video card.

Click on multiplayer and start a LAN game with you as the host . The problem is that almost all maps have you working lone wolf, but it is possible to add friendly AI, only you can't order them around.
