What would be wrong with implementing it if there was an option to force first person on a server? I know sometimes I'd love to use 3rd person in SP, but in mutliplayer I ALWAYS would use first person. Besides, 3rd person can make for some lovely screen shots.....
-
I wouldn't mind seeing it as an option, one that can be forced on each server as well.
-
On both systems as well...
-

That was my only complaint about SP, and if it made it's way into [GR] Coop I'd be a little disappointed with the map.

Alright, stop drinking the Hatorade everyone.
And surag, that article was about the XBox 360 version

-
Thansk surag! That helps with some of the talks we've had here earlier.

Bigger draw distance would be fantastic. Various levels of scopes for sniper rifles would be nice too, as would doors and the ability to blow or kick the doors in.
I would also like to see the inability to fire while sliding and more realistic weapon stats.
-
Also, 'only' 300 thousand units were sold for PC while 900 thousand were sold for 360, go figure.
Hopefully that doesnt mean the pc version is shelved...
I've never seen a divided statistic between 360 and PC GRAW sales. Where did you find this out?

5. Dark Messiah Might and Magic
A great SP game, but the MP is lacking big time. The SP is one of the few games out there that does a good job of first person melee. The animations and environments are well done, even if the characters are somewhat shallow and the story flip flops at times. Short, but definitely a good break from the using first person shooter. If not for the bugs and a better MP, this would be rated higher.
4. Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter
Need I say anything at all?
3. Tomb Raider Legends
While the first two TR games were awesome, the later ones started a slippery downhill slope. This game jumps them right back up to the top. The graphics are fantastic and not too demanding for mostly high settings, the audio makes the game feel even better, and the varied levels are wonderful, especially when you get on a motorcycle. One of the best PC games of all time in my book.
2. Hitman Blood Money
Splinter Cell but as an assassin instead of a spy. Tons of different ways to knock people off makes for every level giving a lot of replay and a lot of fun. Downside? SP only.
1. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
What can I say? Large world, open ended, tons of variety, nothing ever feels the same. With the mods out there this makes it even better. Toss in the Knights of the Nine expansion and you have yourself a good 6 months of play time (assuming you play 6 hours a day 6 days a week).

It supposedly will from what I understand. I'm looking forward to DVDs becoming standard though (since Vista discs are DVDs). Of course, the next OS will require Blu-Ray or HD-DVDs, lol.

Gears Of War is a 3rd person "shooter". SHOOTER being the key word. There really aren't any tactics applied. Not in the way GRAW or Rainbow would be used.
This guy does a great job of explaining the problems.
Here is his propsed fix.
Have you even actually played GoW? It's much more than just a shooter, especially if you try it at the higher difficulties.

Check your FPS (frames per second) using FRAPS. Lower FPS give the mouse a floating feel to it.

If you just want it in a typical slide show fashion like PowerPoint, try Open Office. I've been using Open Office for years, and back in college it helped a LOT for doing presentations since I could use Impress (equivalent of PowerPoint). OO is basically a lighter, open source free version of Microsoft Office (including word processing, excel sheets, powerpoint presentations, and a few other things I'm forgetting).
EDIT: Master Album Maker expires after 15 days, but the viewer is freeware. Anything that's considered a try album maker would cost money from what I've seen, but there are other programs that you can use creatively to do the same thing.

While I agree Nero is good, Express Burn has one advantage...price

For more free programs I suggest visiting sourceforge.net

Currently considered a gimmick, but I'm waiting to see how it fairs on UT2007 (and since it's on the Unreal Engine 3 it's very possible that most games based on that engine may support Ageia).
-
Looks somewhat decent and burns both CD and DVD data and audio. I hope this helps. If not, I'll see what else I can dig up, but so far Express Burn has been good to me.

Titan Quest and Company of Heroes are PC only games, so it's gotta be for PC

-
Oops, yeah, for 06.

Actually that review was done by 1up, not PC Mag....at least I think.....

Ha! I WISH I ran this website. It's actually an Australian guy that runs it. Great guides overall, very thorough and he actually makes you learn what your doing without just saying "Do this for performance enhancements" like some male enhancement commercial. I've been a fan of the site for going on I think 4 years now.
-
They rank it up there with Company of Heroes and Oblivion. Not much of a read, but gives you a general idea of what some folks other than the hard core fans think of GRAW on the PC.
Edit: It's for the Top 5 of the Year (2006)

New idea......Deer Hunter: GRAW Edition....
Would you like GRAW2 PC to be third person this time?

Narrow minded thinking at it's best.......Operation Flashpoint and the original Rainbow Six games allowed for 3rd person view if I recall correctly.
Gee.....never thought of that...but what if I wanted screen shots of something OTHER than monsters and a gun with a chainsaw attached? Or don't have a 360? Or a way of taking good screen shots of console games?
Out of curiosity, have you even played the 360 version at all?
I really don't see what the big deal is if they put it in and make it an option that can be toggled first by server side, and if it's allowed on the server then by the client. That's like getting angry at McDonalds because they have ketchup on the side but you hate the stuff. I think the following line words it best.....
OMFG teH pHeaR of change!!!
