No, the only thing I had going on was the hard lock. I have the same problem with the Armed Assault demo (and I can't seem to get rid of that no matter what I do). Other things to try.... 1. New drivers. Try the newly released Catalysts 7.1 and see if that makes a difference. 2. Do you have a dual core CPU? If so, install the MS Hotfix and if it's AMD then the AMD Optimizer. 3. Run Memtest and see if your RAM comes up with any errors. 4. Run 3DMark06 and see if it locks on you. Other than that I'm not sure what else might help, but I hope you get the problem fixed soon.

There's actually a line that states whether a weapon has the 1m punch through or not (0=no and 1=yes). I cannot remember where it is though, I'll have to dig around a little to find out. Edit: In the u_barrett.xml there is a line that has the following: <var name="weapon_penetration_type" value="1"/> <!-- will penetrate walls --> This line doesn't appear in the other weapons, but I wonder if adding it will adjust the weapons to do so.

Step 1 - Double check all your jumpers to make sure that they are all set properly for primary and slave. Step 2 - Make sure all your cables are plugged in properly and are not loose at all. What about the random spawn feature? Put 4 different snipers around on rooftops and from there just have it so one of the four spawn at random when triggered. I haven't placed any AI nodes on the rooftops on my maps and never have a problem with them doing that.

Absolutely HATE the idea. I despised it in Call of Duty 2 and Rainbow Six Vegas. It needs to stay with Halo. Then again, the series is headed towards the action shooter instead of staying in the tactical shooter genre. Sorry mate, but it just doesn't feel right.

Actually, it's the 7900 series (the 7800 series are fine). It may sound like a lot of the cards are having problems, but in reality it's really not that many. I personally have 2 7900GTXs and have also had friends using a 7900GT, 7950GT, and a 7900GTX OC. None of us had a single issue with them. It's been a long time since I've seen a game that will allow you to install a "spawn" version of the game. The last one I remember is Starcraft. But yes, you would need 2 copies of the game since the disc is needed to play. What you COULD try doing is install the game on both systems, start it up on one system, remove the disc and use it to start it up on the second system. That may work since I believe the game just checks for the disc at startup, not anywhere in the middle of the game.

Your temps seem fine (my card can easily hit 80 on a warm day, usually hovering around 70 on a cool day). To update your video card drivers you must first uninstall your current drivers. Do this by going to your control panel, add/remove programs, and look for Nvidia Display Driver or some such. Uninstall it, reboot, defrag, install 93.71 drivers, reboot again, defrag, and you're good to go!

I actually like the lack of a text confirmation of a kill. I wish it was an option for adversial modes. The main problems with coop as a I see it are 1) AI is too smart (ie cheap) for its own good. 120m away and they can spot you peeking around a corner in the dark. Crappy. 2) Objectives - they weren't built in from the start for [GR] Coop. This sucks, especially since it's bugged for custom maps anyway. 3) Teamwork. There is no way to signal anything to your team, from support request to enemy spotted. Too often I'll spot a tango and not have a clear shot only to see a team mate run

That's the problem. Ubisoft bought the rights to these things, so rather than being just a publisher they have an overall say on everything. They buy devs (or at least contract them) rather than having the devs come to them. I don't think there's a word for what Ubisoft really is because it doesn't actually produce games and it does more than just publish them. Or so I've been led to believe. On that note....GO STEAM! 1. Exactly why I stopped downloading custom maps for the most part and just make my own lone wolf style maps. I absolutely hate having to gun down 50+ guns, much less 200 on some maps. Give me 20-30 intelligent AI on a map and I'm happy. I also find it somewhat ironic that people cry out for more realism yet the most popular maps are the types where it's a given you'll have to respawn.

I think I'll steer clear of ArmA for now. It's pretty bad when you can only get around 30-40fps at low settings/1024x768 resoultion with a X2 4800+ cpu and a 7900GTX....
