  1. I, and several others, asked this a while back too, but we never received a response (I don't recall receiving one anyways).
  2. I play at 1680x1050 and nothing looks stretched at all to me. EDIT: After testing, I notice the game does support 16:10, however you have to have it set for "Auto" and at a 16:10 resolution, where as at 1680x1050 I can set the ratio to 16:9 (and get a wider view) if I wanted to. All these screenshots were taken using FRAPS at the 1680x1050 resolution using different aspect ratios.... 4:3 5:4 16:9 Auto (16:10 for this resolution)
  3. Try using The Gimp with it's DDS plugin. It's a very hand program to use.
  4. Widescreen support was available in GRAW 1 (remember the WS bug?), and I can imagine this will most likely be supported in GRAW 2.
  5. Regardless, these are all very good ideas. There's a lot I would like to see implemented, but I guess we'll see soon enough
  6. That is one of the best damn ideas I think I've ever heard....eliminates the need for a real in-game VoIP and makes it easily accessed to the public.
  7. Like I said, not enough interest in the game, much less this particular project, prevents anyone from doing it.
  8. Page Up/Page Down I think are the keys you are looking for, or maybe it was just the up and down arrows. It's one of those things you use often enough that it's just automatic to do it and forget how it's done. EDIT: Press F1 for a help menu in the editor. Or maybe it was F12? I think F1......sheesh, I should start trying to memorize these things...
  9. You're generalizing something that's not true. The average age of the gamer is around 30 (depending on source), and that women outnumber men as game players. Point being that consoles are NOT kids toys in the same manner that a PC is not a children's toy. Why shouldn't we blame the devs or publisher for turning a semi/pseudo realistic shooter (Ghost Recon/Rainbow Six) into an arcade shooter (GR:AW/R6 Vegas)? Age Group Sources: Game Daily Wikipedia PBS
  10. Where will it end though? Why is one ok and not the other? I'm with Buehgler on this one. The one man army thing should have stayed with Doom and Halo
  11. Personally I use ConTEXT which has a XML highlighter to make it a lot easier to see what is what when scripting.
  12. Not only because of the AC, but if it is used for matched play then nobody except those who scripted it will know how the mission runs. The players will have the knowledge of the area, but no idea about what threats are in the map (and if it wasn't broken in GRAW, what objectives as well). The IGOR tool is most likely a thing of the past that we will never see again, but I could be wrong. Once you get used to it though scripting with GR:AW really isn't that hard. It's more or less making sure you don't have any typos
  13. It's still rather pointless though, because if everyone has the map and only the server needs the script, why have people download the script?
  14. UPDATE: Many changes to the enemies, including number and locations. spawn times, etc etc. http://files.filefront.com/strongpoint_ogr...;/fileinfo.html EDIT: This is still beta, there are still a few things I'd like to change around and what not.
  15. I think it is possible to have the scripts outside of the bundle, but the problem would be that the AC would see them as a mod and everyone would have to have the same script then (which defeats the purpose of what you are trying to achieve). This is assuming the AC is on, of course. I'm not sure what you mean with the other part of your question, sorry.
  16. And the MR-C has? As I recall there hasn't even been a prototype to test out of that gun, and yet I don't hear an outcry over that. No point in arguing over this anyway since the M8 is in anyway.
  17. Actually, scripts are server side. As long as everything else matches on the map (not sure about spawn zones, but I believe those need to be consistent in both maps) the script from the server can be changed. If you try joining a game and they have the exact same map as you but a different script for spawning enemies then you'll have their script. I'm pretty sure I've done this before anyway...
  18. I'm glad it's back, not only because I like the M8, but because it's one more weapon to add to the roster (besides, since the animations, model, and texture are already done, it makes sense that it would stay). I'm sorry, it makes NO SENSE. This rifle was ditched. I know you know it, and everybody else knows it, perhaps except for GRIN who continue to include a rifle that will NOT see service in the US Army. GET RID OF IT AND INCLUDE WHAT WE HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR SINCE GRAW.... M16/M4 !!!!! pwease??? In your logic then the M16 and M4 should be ditched since it is going to be replac
  19. Sequel - $50 Expansion - $20 New Game - $50 /smartass mode I've never really thought about that before. I suppose a sequel is something that feels like the original, but has a different look. An expansion just adds content, and a whole new game allows changes to anything. I guess that's how I personally view it.
  20. Alright, alright, so I've been a little lazy on bringing this up. I know the AI still has a few quirks, but I've added a few more tangos to spawn while still keeping it relatively sparse. I think it's up to 45 or some such. Again, recommended on hardcore with no more than 6 players. It's a damn shame messages and objectives don't work Slightly Updated Strongpoint Oh, and again, this map is still beta, so please leave the download link here. Hopefully the next release will be the final version
  21. There is a crosshair, it's a very faint blue circle, mostly noticeable between the hand of the first enemy and the butt of the second one
  22. I didn't see a ladder, it just made me realize how nice it would be to be able to climb ladders for multi-level maps I'm glad it's back, not only because I like the M8, but because it's one more weapon to add to the roster (besides, since the animations, model, and texture are already done, it makes sense that it would stay). Not sure if I saw this for one of the PC tidbits, but I thought that we'll be able to select which operatives to bring along in missions now? I'm hoping to see some like Ramiraz, Burke, and a few others.
  23. Nice screens. Looking at the dam in this picture makes me hope that we'll have ladders that we can use.
  24. If you look closely, you'll see that he has group 1 spawning at the start and when you pass thru area 1. I think both scripts would work though, I just have it so that group 1 spawns from the start and you have it where group 1 spawns after crossing area 1.
  25. The problem is that while you are compiling the map, you are doing it at too high of a setting on your computer. A way to be able to up the number of passes/quality of passes would be to turn all your video options to as low as they go, along with resolution, exit the editor, start the editor back up with the low settings from the start, and re-compile the map. Medium/5 pass works rather well for making the map look polished.
