Imagine a server with unlimited deaths and everyone spawning at the SAME PLACE every time. If the enemy is in your base, what are you going to do? At least if you're spread out you can prepare a counter-attack to clear your base. Again, the patch has been out only a few hours and you expect everyone in the server, mostly strangers, to anticipate your next move, work together, use tactics, and be familiar with new maps (same map with new mode might as well be a new map). I have not played the new patch, either. But, based on the whiney, juvenile complaints I've read in the 6 hours the patch has been available, I have a feeling I'm really REALLY going to like it! Technical Support

I believe your concerns can be addressed server-side. Find a server that suits your tastes and play there.

I can't believe people are actually reponding seriously to this drivel. A 32 player server with everyone loading and starting at the same time and place? And then what? Join arm-in-arm and skip across the battlefield? You expect 16 perfect strangers to work and fight as a cohesive unit? In a public server nonetheless?

I know you guys are big on the mission NOT ending when the TL dies, but I remember reading somewhere in the documentation that the reasoning for this decision, as well as the decision to kill anyone that left the mission area, was to encourage all players to work as a team. That seems like sound reasoning to me, as it will prevent someone that has memorized the map from going Rambo. I am just curious as to your opinions on the following: 1. Host starts as TL 2. As an outsider (I never played [GR]) I think the tension is so thick because it seemed as though every thread was hijacked by a discontent [GR] fan. Admittedly, it does not seem as bad now as when I first joined these forums a few short weeks ago. Here's an example: OP: How do you use the "cover" command? Reply: Check the manual. Oh, it's not in the manual because this game sux. So, the replies were not always constructive, and often invited hostility. EDIT: Not that [GR] fans did not have anything to gripe about, or the right to gripe.

I pay for a server, and I don't want to give every swinging dick the benefit of doubt. If someone cheats or is suspected of cheating in a server, and they are banned from that server, I will take the word of a respectable squad rather than allow the player into my server. It's the right of every server admin to decide whether or not to ban preemptively. Besides, IMO M9 comes off as a smug know-it-all, and I'd ban him just for that. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they just make it impossible to jump & shoot at the same time? Because if I remember correctly, that was the same time they patched away the ability to jump and throw a frag, or jump and throw a C4, or jump and detonate a C4. Really, really dumb moves by EA IMO.
