  1. I despise having to reference BF2 because I despise BF2, but to elaborate on my initial point, yes a commander needs to know where each squad is operating, not so much for individual players. If you are ordered to capture/defend an outpost/zone, you need to know the status of your squadmates. If other teammates are being decimated or advancing, it matters not if it is Alpha, Bravo, or Charlie. You still have your objective to complete. Again, my comments are directed toward pub play. Although, even with matches, before there was the ability to create in-game squads, squads & players
  2. Agree with your comments regarding BF2. Sorry to hear about your back. I've heard peeing on a jellyfish sting helps the pain. Just food for thought.... P.S. "The Diplomat" has returned.
  3. Agreed and we've done that as well with games that did not have the ability to create squads. But this pertains to communication, and not in-game squad representation. If you have a commander vis-a-vis BF2, then knowing the location of each squad (as opposed to teammates) is not relevant if you are following orders. Again, this is more applicable to general gameplay than matches. Regardless, I'm pretty sure we can forget Grin implementing any squad/communication system similar to BF2. And that's why I'm addressing a system that is relatively easy to implement rather than a complete over
  4. Agreed & understood. I was addressing general gameplay & ease of implimentation for the developers.
  5. WOW...Rabbi must be in a bad mood today! Ususally "The Diplomat" is more tactful when delivering barbs.
  6. I honestly don't know if there would be a BIG benefit of being able to differentiate between your squad and any other. Yes, you should be able to ID your own squadmates, in the game and on the minimap. However, I believe the benefit & purpose of squads is the ability to spawn on the leader.
  7. In the tab screen, Top Left corner you will see join, create buttons. You can join a squad or make one and then have the option to spawn on your squad leader. that's all it does for you at the moment. Although I applaud your effort to provide a thoughful and thorough response, I doubt the sincerety of his queries. He is more likely beating the dead-horse issue of an insufficient manual. Herein proving me correct.
  8. How about: Pink Hearts Yellow Moons Orange Stars Green Clovers and Purle Horseshoes!
  9. Indeed! Most people don't realize Rabbi sounds like a monkey on cocaine.
  10. Excellent point. Thank you for proving Kingkat was wrong. Maybe next time he does a coop, he'll realize he's not having fun after all.
  11. Can we add one exception when there are limited spawns? When the opposing team is down to 1 or 2 players, no area of the map is off limits (including spawns). The purpose of this would be to finish off the map as soon as possible. Imagine if there was an absolute restriction on entering the enemy spawn area. The last person alive COULD decide to sit & wait out the timer instead of getting killed. This would be the equivalent of bayonetting the wounded in real life.
  12. That's the same article I read. I guess I misspoke. The physx card works in MP, kinda. Here are two captions from the article: Video demo5 one with out insight In the second video, the player with the PhysX hardware again throws the grenades. A second player who doesn't have a physics accelerator installed stands by and watches. No matter how many grenades are used, the vehicles will not roll over. The player with the PhysX card sees additional wreckage flying from the vehicles, which the player without the Ageia card naturally can't see. Video demo5 without Ageia In the third vid
  13. Yes I did. Where? [This may have legal implications] Okay, Perry Mason. Grin did not abandon this, they made no promise as to exact content, and you have no case.
  14. Does anybody else want to make a poontang joke here?
  15. I had the same crash once last night, and I have the Physx card as well, so that explains that. It may also account for the video lag I was experiencing. However, since the Physx card does not work in MP mode, I guess there is no reason for me to have it on.
  16. Are you on dope (a la Mr. Hand)? By some detractors, not by most.
  17. Yeah, I would SWEAR that 2" is really 8".
  18. I understand that and agree. I'm just asking if it gives the opponent an advantage. I do not think it does.
  19. This is something I have never understood, perhaps because I am a simple man. If I am 170m from you, you are 170 from me. If I can't see you, you can't see me. How can I use that to my advantage if I can't see you? Isn't this the same principle as playing in a map with fog?
