as you can see it has a much broader view for easier viewing and its also a little larger in view/zoom mode.
i LOVE the M24 because its light so you can still take it along witha zeus as well as a good secondary weapon. I dont usually advise the m25 with the desert eagle though, they dont compliment eachother well. but anywya, back to the m24, it cant punch through armor but its so accurate because of the scope you can shoot around anything easily. for instance, the gun nest you can shoot through the slot or below the plate.... the jeeps you can shoot the drivers through the windows... etc etc.
and the desert eagle is just down right funny when you shoot it... it makes a big boom and it kills the enemy in one shot.

Oh, ok I know (or knew) 'how' in theory to do that. There is no one xml that controls the number of AI for all of the missions, in order to increase the number you need to go into the xmls for the mission you want to change and add more guys that way. The problem is that you have to tell them some sort of coordinates for where to spawn, and I for one never bothered to try to figure out how the game's coordinate system works.
now that i think back i think i recall what your mentioning... its just when modding these files as you know you usually have to do several things. i wasnt sure if all i had to do was change one file

Install directions:
1. Save to any folder
2. Once downloaded, right click and "extract here"
3. Right click and copy extracted folder
4. Go to to the following folders in your hard drive - GRAW > Local > paste inside your local folder
5. Go back out to the GRAW folder and find the context.xml file
6. Right click and open with notepad
7. 5th line down on the right side look for Language ="________"/>
8. Change whatever word is between the quotes (most likely english) to Jason, or whatever you decided to rename the folder you downloaded.

Mod Contents:
- Added M24 SWS regular caliber sniper rifle (rehashed scar L, with black texture) with enhanced view using aimpoint. Features semi-auto 5 round clip
- Replaced Glock to a 50 cal Desert Eagle pistol (rehashed Glock with chrome texture, also be sure to switch to single fire mode to enable the new sound). Features 7 round clip.
- Changed saw from a Light Machine Gun (MK48 LMG) with a 5.56mm round to a Heavy Machine Gun (MK49 HMG) with a 7.62mm round , as well as tightened the grouping and made it more accurate so you can actually hit your target. Reduced clip size from 180 to 150 rounds. Changed sound.
- Reduced sepia effect, to look more realistic (you may want to turn up the brightness in the video settings)
- Adds M8 compact primary list and also provides combat site as a option
- Adds more 9mm clips
- Intro Skipped
- Overall gun recoil reduced by 50% in zoom mod for assult rifles
- Frags and 40mm grenades are 5+5 instead of 4+6
- Full color view for full view cross com screen / buddy cam
- Full color Tac Map
- Full color view for ZEUS aiming scope
- Slightly changed physics to allow the M99 to penetrate more accurately
- Increased blast radius of grenades to be more realistic
- Completely changed friendly AI (they noticeably do their jobs better, INCLUDING ACTUALLY USING GRENADE LAUNCHERS !!!)
- Changed enemy AI to be more aware, mobile, and precise (works best on difficulty setting: hard)

I will edit this post as I ad more mods. Please download this mod and give me any useful technical feedback. Also remember this is a constant work in progress and I am constantly updating this mod with very little personal test time.

I am a little upset that the enemies do not seem to try to flank you as much as they did in [GR], though they do use cover rather well. What did you want to change?

From what I've observed they actually do try to flank you, though they are more concerned with staying under cover than the [GR] guys and thus are a little slower, its just that the general layout of the maps (ie in a street) prevents them from doing so very effectively.

I suppose i wanted to increase number of AI, have them patrol, make them more alert and responsive. and have them spawn in random areas so i never know where there all all the time.

I have no numbers or hard facts.
Testing has confirmed that on harder settings you become injured more easily, and thus die after fewer hits.
I have suspected that AI spotting and accuracy are improved, but have not bothered to devise a test. We just play on hard, since it keeps the game closer to the [GR] one good hit and you are dead style of play.
yeah i like how the AI can shoot you around corners and shoot you while their gun is still pointed at the ground .

is it possible for us mear mortals to increase AI yet ? I was poking through some XMLs and I saw something mention AI patrols and so forth.
any experience yet ?

Can someone tell me exactly what the different difficulty settings do for absolute certain ? ... not speculation. I've heard all sorts of theories, i want a real answer
Most games it increases AI numbers, or it makes them faster or what have you. I honestly can not notice any difference btween playing the game on easy or hard. It doesnt get harder or easier.

I played TD and HH today.
its all the same game with different names.
deathmatch = team deathmatc = hamburger hill = domination
coop is the only game that is different
I can't wait till Double Agent comes out in Sept, I'm tossing this one on the shelf until they decided its finished. They should of released tools so us COOP guys can redo missions to keep us occupied until the COOP patch comes out. The game is starting to get boring. How many times can you actually play Norad before you memorize where every guy is ?
That and Im getting SICK of my game crashing. This is the only game that does it that I play.

ok, so i went through and did all those instructions (extracted to GR folder) then deleted the language folders and created a "mods" folder and changed language to "mods" in context file. the thing i wanted to mod was the default amount of rounds for the .50 (20 is ridiculously unrealistic, not to mention the weight penalty for 15 bullets more if you get the ammo pack, but i dont want to even get into that...) so i went into the sb_inventory_data file and changed the default number to a higher one, then copied that file and the sb_inventory_data.xml (bin) file into the "mods" folder and put them into a subfolder that read "sb_templates" just like in the data folder. the problem is that when i run the game and get to main menu, an error message comes up in game that reads "cannot write to installation file". any advice as to what I might ahve done wrong or else a better way to mod up the ammo count for the 50?

its so hard to give and recieve modding advice becuase there could be so many things in between that could be left out or misread and it will never work.
now that i mentioned that disclaimer... on with business. from what i read here you did most everything except the fact you modded the wrong thing. i assume your modding the sniper rifle. that being said you have to mod the line with the caliber "127" in it. standing for 12.7 mm round that he sniper uses.
go under the single player and coop mod and change it to whatever you want. then upload it into your mods folder.

Framerate vise this game this game sucks on most systems (All that don´t use cf/sli or an 7950x2?),

I run the game fine on 1280x960 with it maxed out on a 7900 GT KO, which only ran me $270.
the game doesnt need as much as people think..
AMD 64 3000
PC400 1GB RAM (just upgraded to 1.5 GB last week)
X1600 PRO AGP 8X video card
parts i pulled out of the closest and put together... i run the game at 1280X1024 , first texture setting at medium, the rest on high. (basically as high as it will let me set it)
game never misses a beat. my upload speed is 328K and i host a GRAW server plus teamspeak with 4 players all the time and again never misses a beat.
With that computer I assume that we have different opinions about "not missing a beat".
I run it at 1152x864 on:
A64 3400+
7800gt
2GB ram
It works allright, I tried higher but then it started to suffer.
i mean as in it smooth, doesnt lag or get choppy frame rates.
However, its not so smooth as to give me motion sickness like when i play games that are from a couple years ago. or like when ileave chaos theory on default settings and play it.

ok did a little catch up reading here... i see this new realism mod is starting to work on it. so that i dont have to read through all 200 posts could someone give me a quick update if its totally figured out yet or how to get to it.

is there anyway I can make the cross com vid look like it does on xbox, actually as the person is seeing it rather than looking at the wire frame. I see no advantage to the wire frame thing.
I also wanted to know is it possible to make the tac map in color.

HAHA.... had a few extra minutes to kill this afternoon between errands.
By day I'm a single player who makes ridiculous weapons mods...... by night straight laced coop pistol asassin (however the hell you spell that)

It also of course helps to all be on a voice com like teamspeak and be with a group of people you know are really good your use to playing with......or both.
I'm finding that playing with random people, espeically if two are on TS and two arent tends to get hazardous. We dont make it very far. I strongly prefer if everyone is on TS and everyone listens to what I tell them. For instance, if I say stay together then stay together, dont run off. you pull out the bottom block and the whole building falls.
also getting people cheating too. I mean its a freakin video game, if you die then just start over. theres nothing to be afraid of.
Theres a glitch in the chopper and sometimes the first few minutes of the mission in visual effects, it does end up straigtening up. so you can see when you dont have a pistol eventually. And the sound is imistakable... thats never glitched, if you fire off a scar it sounds completely different than a glock or m9. if you take an attatchment like a grip or launcher that gets spotted real quick and you know they cheated.
anyway, pistols still rule. We're starting to take longer shots... Titus is still the man at being marksman.

Personally, Im a fan of the glock. Its just all in my head, i like the way it aims better. But I take the M9 when I want to run silenced.
Few things i noticed, it forces you to act more of a team as mentioned plus it makes you use all different tactics all together. its like playinga whole different game.
and its also very gratifying to make a long shot with a pistol. you just want to yell out YEAH I NAILED THAT GUY !!

FRAPS is a program that allows you to watch your FPS (frames per second) in a game, take screen shots, and create videos.
And I just found this, but I'm not sure how well it works since I haven't used it yet.

Just off the top of my head... best long shots were taking out the tower guy at Zocolo Plaze in Fierce resistance and taking out the grenadier from the ambush site in VIP 2 is down.
ill make a video if i get around to it but I'd rather everyone just come and play and see for yourself. Thats why I started this.. to start a new "fad" . I usually play later in the evening and late at night (eastern standard time U.S. ) ... or start your own server and try it for yourself.

besides, what could you see in 30 seconds ? would be like you using a pistol yourself. the achievement here is taking out the whole mission with everyone alive and green. would need a 30 minute vid for th at....or however long it takes to complete a mission

Well I gotta tell ya guys this was an awesome experience. I thought of doing this a few weeks ago but never mentioned it because I thought no one would ever go along with it. Thers a small group of us...... non clan members.... we like to call ourselves independant contractors lol .. anyway. We pretty much own all the missions on hard and then to add fun I start making ridiculous mods. Like multi semi auto Grenade launchers, semi sniple rifles... that does for a few laughs but you tear through the missions even easier. Then all of the sudden someone said lets just use all pistols. I said about how I thought of that a while ago and definately am game.
You wont beleive this but we totally owned every mission we played, first try beat them. Usually everyone went without even a hit until the end. One time someone died at the very end from a sniper round to the head, someone else died because of a glitch in the game said they were out of the mission area and killed them.... other than that if we were playing mortal kombat it would of said "flawless victory" at the end. We tried the different difficulty settings and it didnt seem to make any dang different,... never does.
So I guess the next step is to make mods to increase AI... or give them more intelligence, or make them spawn in different places or give them more health or something. I would rather give them more free roam or something because memorizing where every enemy is takes the fun from it. They need to be more independat. Have multple spawn points i think. Thats what gives the game its difficulty and why I feel we ran right through the missions, Despte our extreme handicap we new where everyone was and we would of killed them all with freak throwing knives and nunchukus if we had them.
as to making a vid.. my free trial to some expensive vid software I had ran out. so... no go there.

I'm in a hurry here and didn't have time to read everything so if I repeat then I apologize.
1. getting out of chopper with secondary weapon
2. Ready for Bear mission: In COOP tank crew doesn't get into tanks. Usually the last guy and second to last guy.
3. Extreme disconnect, crash, lock up problems in COOP mode. Usually every game session I crash several times as well as the people I'm playing with. Its become routine.
4. Helicopter staying in the air for everyone except the Captain during pickup, such as Bulldog.
5. Ready for Bear, knocked a guy down off the gun nest and the gun nest kept firing with no one there.
6. Frindly AI soldiers and tanks when given orders either wont perform the order, or perform half. Usually with moving and attacking. This happens ALL the time.
Complaints bugs:
1. Blast radius isnt as effective against enemy AI. I can shoot the plate on the gun nest with a GL grenade and it wont kill the enemy. Same goes for guys in the tower sniping. Yet, with frindly AI if the nade is ANYWHERE near you your dead. I can fire grenades all around a gun nets, including the plate, the sandbags, even the wall behind the gunner and they dont kill him.
2. Frindly AI are ridiculously dumb, constantly getting stuck. In quarterback Allen is always getting stuck behind a shanty. Or walk right in front of a gun nest, get shot and stay there instead of getting cover.
