  1. OK....this has become an aggrevating occurance for me, about the only one I can think of in GR. I am sniping.....7.62mm, and I am laying in the prone position with an enemy in site. I take aim....the reticule minimizes to it's capacity...and I fire. Through the scope I can see the shot hit him in the eye, but he does not die. I fire again....on his other eye. A direct hit, but still he does not die, and even tries to take cover behind a small tree. I shoot him in the head AGAIN, you cant even make out a face on this guy, and still he does not die. So I aim for the chest (heart area) and fire....direct hit, STILL no death. Finally I just shoot him in the leg, and what do you know...he collapses to the ground....dead. Now this has happened quite often to me in my days playing GR, and it really gets to me because the whole point of being a sniper is for that satisfying one shot - one kill ability. Now there are plenty of times that I do get one shot - one kills, but there has even been times I've taken someone's whole face off and he shot once at me and killed me. Now please dont jump on me and say "well as a player you can also take shots to the head and live" because I'd rather die from one head shot and be able to kill with one head shot then use that as a tradeoff excuse. This game is AWESOME and I love it, and when I play online against human opponents this doesnt happen to me, but agains AI enemies it is a problem. Anyone else feel this way?

  2. Has anyone else had any problems with not being able to change server passwords or being able to delete a server they made? I made a server, and then deleted it. It says it deleted it but it is still there. Also, if I make a server it says it was made but it doesnt show up. Then, if I change the password, or anything on the server (as superadmin or admin) it says it changed it but it doesnt. :o=

  3. OK I cannot host this now...sheesh. I already forwarded the apporpriate ports just like I did to get GR to work and it still wont let me host Teamspeak...and if I tell teamspeak to delete a server, or change the password, it says it does it, but doesnt...what gives!?!?! :wall:

  4. The only way I could see you being able to judge where a nade came from is if A)You actually see it in the air or B) you see it hit the ground and bounce.  If you dont see either of those there is no way you could tell where it came from.

If you do see either of these things then you will be in no condition to do anything about it anyway, you will be too busy scattering yourself over a wide area.... lol ;):P

    Ain't that the truth!!!

:Hey that came from over...." *SPLAT*

  5. You can judge from where a frag camed the direction i mean not the range.

But as with the bug in wich the enemy AI know where you were when detonating a claymore it can be fixed but a 1.5 patch is highly unlikley.

  6. My father love GR. He was on SWAT and Narcotics...as well as a few other task forces. He loves the realism and graphics. I love the fact that you cannot be shooting the hell outta someone else while they are pulling head shots on you. Dont get me wrong run and gun games like Doom (I will buy Doom III ASAP in Oct.) and Quake are very fun, but when you can move about in camo gear and have enemies walk right by you but not see you due to the fact you are hidden in a bush or something appeals to me (I'm 23) a great deal.

  7. Imagine that the AI would just wait for you the only thing you would do is throwing frags and sniping.

Evrebody would finish the 3 campaigns in 5 hours.

Yeah, sure they are going to scatter about to investigate, but there are 360 degrees of possibility of where the nade came from, but to all go to the exact position of where you are is seems far fetched...either that or the enemy has ESP.

  8. OK, is this a flaw in GR? Has anyone noticed that how ever quiet you are, and no matter how well hidden you are...if you throw a grenade...on impact and explosions enemies know exactly where you are? Now I can understand launchers and guns giving you away, but throwing a grenade with no sound and having enemies somehow trace it back to your location seems a bit odd to me. Of course now I use it to advantage by throwing, relocating, and killing the investigators but still it just doesnt seem right.

  9. You can always use this alternate addy..

    http://dbd2.mine.nu/

This one works almost all the time.

btw you might want to try Ventrilo, easier to set up and use, not good for dial-up though. Voice quality is excellent.

ventrilo.com is where you can pick it up.

    Thanks for the addy! :)

As for the other program I doubt I'll try it because the people I play with have dial-up. (just cant convince them to go highspeed)...but thanks anyways I could keep it for future reference.

  10. Also, if you are getting the 192.168.1.1 or something similar to that, it is your internal IP for you modem/router. I can get my real IP through a modem command, but you can also get it by going to www.myipaddress.com. Even when you forward the ports and give your friends your external IP, when they enter it in (format will be IP.IP.IP.IP:PORT- Example #: 172.124.34.23:2346) the game may not show up, but if the go ahead and just click Join Game anyways they should get in.

  11. Hey there...I had a similar problem just last week involving being able to join games but not host. What I had to do was tell my router/modem to open ports 2346-2348 so that people joining my IP could use those ports to bypass the built-in firewall of the modem/router. Also, you may have to open those ports in ZoneAlarm as well.

  12. I havent played single player (I'm deep into multiplayer games)....but the first one can apply to sp as well.

    1) Patience and cover is the key. Taking open area routes will get you shot. If you are in the wilderness...bush hop. Use binocs all the time from a well covered area to survey your next potential move. I've stayed in a bush and had an enemy walk right next to me and not see me...numerous times.

    2) In MP, use your map frequently. I check the map whenever I get into red...and sometimes just to check on my teamates. A lot of times I'll call out enemies that show up on a map near a teamate that my teamate doesnt realize is there. Also, though I think of this more as a glitch/error, grenades and launchers always notify nearby enemies to your exact location. I could be well hidden and throw a grenade as far away as possible, and as soon as it explodes I have an enemy or two coming at me. Use this to an advantage. I'll throw a grenade and quickly move to a new spot before it explodes, and sure enough enemies will go to right where I was....easy pickings. :)

  13. OK well problem is solved. Seems the Westell Wirespeed modem is able to be edited and settings changed by typing launchmodem in the internet address bar. So I was able to get into it and free those ports for Ghost Recon.

Thanks to everyone for your help and input. :)

  14. Yup XP firewall is off. This is very discouraging. If I go to cmd and type IPCONFIG /ALL it shows me the 192.168.1.1 as my IP address. Something is stopping my friends from seeing my game even when I get my IP address from myipaddress.com or the other site listed in the beginning of this thread.
