It's the U.S. 75th Rangers v2.0 mod that keeps doing it. but I don't know why. It didn't do this last time I played through the game. Does anybody know why?
"D'oh!"
lol I dont have that mod so I had no idea of it's design.

Prophet,
What I suggested will not harm his computer. But it will help us determine whether or not the enviroments are from an Active MOD or not. By deactivating all MODS, we can be sure.

Oh I agree....no argument from me at all. I was just saying that even before that he could just scroll through the maps. They way it is on mine is all of original GR maps...the the MP1 and MP2 maps, then certain originals again, but with different environment settings. Sorry to come off like I was totally against your suggestion, I was just making sure he was aware that GR does that.

Have you tried downloading the patches from UBI's website?
http://www.ghostrecon.com/patch.php
And another thing...if you are using XP, and you double click the downloaded file, XP's Zip extraction util will show you the contents. Make sure you tell it to extract all BEFORE you run the command file in the zip file itself.

Whoa whoa whoa....wait a minute. Before you change anything know that if you scroll down far enough some missions are in night as well as day. On the map selection keep scrolling, you'll find that mission at night. GR has conveniently made some missions in dark and day, for fun. I believe another mission like that is the castle. There may be more but I cant think of them. But you didnt mess anything up, the missions are there.

-force,Apr 1 2003, 16:33 ] If your going to play firefight alone in single player mode ,try going through the multiplayer menu and edit the server ,,can play offline that way ,,
not through the quick mission menu ..
firefight requires another team'
May have me confused...but firefight doesnt require other human players or team. I play that all the time on my own...just go to multiplayer and create LAN or INTERNET game and set it up in server.
As to answer the original question....I think NCM Force has it right. If you are going to play firefight on your own....go through Multiplayer and see if it still crashes.

I'd say Teamspeak is better...not sure which is used more. From most opinions...teamspeak is better quality and takes up less bandwidth. As for it muting your speakers, does that mean you cant hear ANYTHING or just other people talking to you in Teamspeak?
As for more memory, it can never hurt....though any improvement would more likely be felt in the time it takes things to load other than actual gameplay. How much memory in the video card? Also...I have the Soundblaster Live 5.1 video card and it's great. It's more personal preference though.

I've never taken part in this sig competition, but I have a great idea for this one's concept. Problem is I really dont have the time or resources to put it to work. Could I throw the idea out there for anyone to pick it up?

Is there any mods out there that can change the enemy AI to Iraqi uniforms?
Yeah...just use Civilian clothing.....lol

You probably have Force V-Sync on in the control panel, under D3D settings of your ATI control panel. Turn it off if you want to see higher rates, but really not necessary.
I run GR with 9700Pro at 1600x1200 with 2xAA and 16AF, all at highest except shadows, which are one notch down. FPS vary depending on map, but rarely goes below 30 fps on heaviest. Thats with Athlon XP2000+.
Yeah I have graphics maxed out except for screen size I have 1024 X 768 just because I dont like the small reticule. There is absolutely no jumping and everything is really smooth....I just wanted to make sure my card was working to its full potential.

I'm sure you'd need a router to split his Internet connection to his computer and yours. The router should supply each of you with an IP so you dont get hung up on the net. You could both probably just hook his internet to a router, then the router to each rig. That should do it...not positive but it sounds right.

Might check your Anti-Aliasing and Anistropic Filtering levels. Those will have effect on Frame Rates.
Also, does it seem like your FPS are "capped". By that I mean, it tries to supercede 80 but "can't" go beyond. If so, your refresh rates are locked. Tried any other games with that card?
I'm assuming you're running XP since it is a new computer.
If they seem locked, we'll help you get 'em unlocked.

What would you recommend setting those levels to because I really never looked to see what those mean.

Also....the words that tell you your FPS turn green every once in a while and go to the max I stated. It just seems to me that the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro is more powerful than those FPS reflect. Hmmm...how would I go about "unlocking" refresh rates?

Yes, it is XP Home Edition.
Thanks for all help.

With full zoom on sniper rifles...especially at night....I can get reaaallly close.

check to make sure you're not playing in arcade mode. The AI can take alot of bullets before they go down.
Reeeeeaaalllly? Hmm....so there is a setting that can effect all that? Interesting thanks for the tip.

I just bought a new computer....a P4 2.4G with 256 megs RAM and the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro Video card. My question is aimed at others with the same card....what frame rates do you get and at what resolution/depth do you get them on? Right now I get at max like 80 FPS. The game runs VERY smooth so I guess that is ok?
