It's been a pleasure watching your progression as a modder. Looking forward to new toys.

He lives
. Good to hear from you. Your next project sounds interesting. -
After looking through Rook's search results I found IRQ conflicts mentioned a few times. I went to control panel/system/device manager and checked each and every entry--creative audigy was assigned irq 17 by itself--doesn't share with any other device. You might try checking that as the problem/potential causes seem to differ from computer to computer. Good luck.

It's probably going to be beyond my knowledge base then (hard to troubleshoot when you're not sitting at the computer with the problem). You may have to contact their support people for assistance. I've never used them before so I don't know how responsive they will be. When you deleted SB drivers previously and did regedit---how did you word your regedit---creative or sb audigy. From experience you need to run both to insure all parts are removed. I know SB audigy 1 was buggy but heard good things about 2 and my version has worked fine. Some of that may have to do with the fact the folks at alienware play with your computer for a week or so to make sure all bugs are worked out before they ever ship the computer. Creative does have a history of not upgrading drivers very often--I think they expect folks to keep upgrading to their next product line. Got some free time this weekend, maybe I'll search for audigy 2 and see what problems/fixes folks have come up with. If you haven't, make sure you read their pdf manual for installation and troubleshooting.

Tollen, totally up to you and Snow--make the mod as you want it. My post merely stating GR was set up for gameplay. I just do single player and have adjusted stab. times to .125 to .11 on most weapons I play with and increased recoil. It's strictly a matter of personal preference. To avoid any huge advantage for any weapon, either set up all your weapons along GR lines or using your formula. I shall try it no matter which way you gents go.

I got my computer through alienware--I got a Creative disk with it for restore purposes--looks like they used off the disk. What OS are you running on and I'll do some checking at Creative's site. Also--what version of directx are you running?
Additionally, I have Audigy 2 ex Platnium ( makes a difference on driver selection)--what is your version? Did you remove the old SB card---Creative site said that causes or can cause conflicts.

Tollen, the stab. times are strictly for gameplay balance as Para noted. I've put thousands of rounds through 9mm, 45 cal pistols and Remington 870 shotguns during my police career, and have also shot with the mp5, ar15 and mini 14 and stabilization of those weapons are quick. If you want real, go for low stab. times and perhaps increase recoil number some so you don't create uber weapons. Single shot mode should be accurate while full auto should spray which increasing recoil number helps to do.

I've had Audigy 2 for about a month now, runs fine for both gaming and music cd's as well as movie cds. I have Creative drivers 5.12.1.324 released 01/03/03.

Car decription and a description of him helps, even if you didn't get the plate. Folks like that don't stop until they get caught. Good job in following up by calling the police--you might save somebodyelse from having to go through the same experience.

zjj, finally heard the song this morning on my way to breakfast. Can't believe it hasn't gotten more air time.

Ruin, track is fine--it's what my buddy's son did. Yes, they (the Academies) check your bio. Your lining yourself up quite nicely. My buddy's son didn't have any other suggestions other than making sure you had political connection prior to application process. That was his drawback.
-
Ruin, my oldest brother tried for the Air Force Academy back in the 70's and a good friend of mine had his son try a little over a year ago. Neither made it and went rotc in college ( brother is now a retired USAF pilot). You have similar activities and grades that they had---community service your involved in helps as well. What they both lacked and what you lack is the political connection--it is vital. You have time, so whether you do internship as a page or something on a local level for one of your senators will help get you noticed. There are alot of applicants that meet the grade/community service requirements of the service academies, so it's the nomination that sets you apart from the rest most of the time. Also, don't just be involved in clubs/activities, take a leadership role in one or two of them--they want leaders/self motivators, not followers.

Well for one thing--my high school only did soph through senior, freshman was only a college level for me. As I travel back in time 31 years, I recall delightful experiences in sports, learning to build my nerve in asking a girl out on a date, and spending lots of time with friends in the great outdoors. I honestly wouldn't change a thing---my mistakes are part of what made me what I am today and I like the way I turned out. For those just entering that stage in life I would say don't take this time period too seriously--it is but a drop in the 5 gallon bucket of life. I saw way too many people place too much value on being popular during high school, who later stated at reunions down the road how that had been a major waste of time and how much they missed out on having fun like us "commoners". I have nothing but fond memories of those times and always will.

Aces, beware of CFS3---it is a major resources hog. Did not play well on my P3 512 ram, ti4600 setup, but plays nicely on my new rig that is a p4 3.0.

Ty, I leave for awhile and comeback, and you're still having the same problem. The answer you got from her was a no--not a maybe, not hard to get. Sending your mate to talk to her is bad form--let it go. You continually build yourself up for a letdown with each lady you've met. Be yourself, expect nothing from the start, that way every smile, every wink, every hug that comes your way in the future and they will ( trust us old gents ), will be even more special. Don't create a relationship in your head before it even begins. Let it develop on it's own. Time to look for a new interest or let a new interest find you

ICE25,stop by more often my brother, you'll find many with like experiences and family histories here. I'm 46, pulled the pin at 20 years with the Aurora Co PD. Dad was a tank sgt in WW2--ETO( also recieived the purple heart), his brother a gunner on a Flying Fortress, another uncle did convoy escorts in the Atlantic, and another was with the Army in the Pacific Theater. It's a nice place to stop in for a visit.

Hey!! You guys need to slow down a bit here--gotta make sure I get it all written down. I've always leased with an option but one never knows what the future may hold.

Ruin, good advice. Always take the high road, makes it easier to keep your head up.
Tyovan, better that you learned it at the start and not down the road, that she isn't truthful. Mark her off the list and look at one of the other 50 million or so eligible young ladies in the country. Just stay away from mine
. -
Tyovan, it's a nice low key start, keep it that way. And never get mad at yourself for asking a lady out. I'm 46 and have not always got a yes when I asked but I never regretted asking. Remember--nothing ventured nothing gained. The world doesn't end with a no, life goes on, trust me

I'd second a new case--Dell's are very proprietary and hard to upgrade. A minimum of 300watt power supply would be advisable as well.
-
Might be same direction phantom is headed, but how did you install new card drivers, over the top of the old ? Better to do a clean install (as you went from nvidia to leadtek drivers possibly?).
-
True YS, but in my opinion the ladies doing it are just as sick. How's flying or studying to fly going for ya these days?

JTF-2,
. Good news is bike was not hurt and I can still ride--just got to remember to put right foot down first. -
If you ride around town, my advice is stay away from clipin pedals. I'm recovering from a busted toe and stretched ligaments in my left foot because a lady in her audi was more interested in talking on her cell phone than staying out of the bike lane. If my foot had been in the clip in pedals--it would have been my knee or worse. And no zjj, I didn't flip her off--she might of been packing heat
