  1. It may be allot of trouble if you have overwritten Origmiss to reinstall GR. But to test your mod Origmiss can not have been overwritten.

You have done allot of work, in fact the hardest part, so setting up the mod will take some time and testing but not near as much as you have spent already. Remember, Origmiss is your template.

Don't just stand there, get at it. ;)

thanks for the detailed how-to but a nephew ran off with my installation disks back in 2005 or 2006. i only have a backup of my original install directory and registry keys on dvd so a reinstall is close to impossible now. my origmiss is a vast collection of personalized crap so far from the factory default - you'd barely recognize it with .gun, .kit and .wav files edited to hell and back. this is why i'm willing to share credit for authoring this sound mod for whoever will take my wav files and roll-up a shiny new mod with them.

also, as indicated - that was a crude file listing as the non-default filenames are just duplicates of what had already been renamed properly - i just failed to take them out of the the directories and they wound up in the crude file list.

  2. yes sir, they're all proper filenames and it's you could easily copy them into the folders i listed but i wouldn't recommend you overwrite any of your existing stuff - hence my search for someone who might be interested in bundling my wavs into a mod that could be switched on or off. again, i must warn heavy profanity - not for the politically correct crowd (nothing racist though). attached is a crude file listing of the stuff i replaced.gr-wavs.txt

  3. hello all. i've a bunch of wav files collected from films that i use in F_Voice_1, M_Voice_1, M_Voice_2, M_Voice_3 and Russian_Voice. i've also embedded music into briefings and cooked-up several weapon reports. i take alot from blackhawkdown, platoon, SPR, aliens and heavily from mister al pacino (my favorite actor).

please note that not surpsingly, alot of it is PG13 and rated-R because of some extreme profanity and anti-social vibe. i'm willing to upload my wav collection if anyone will roll it up into a mod because so far, i've just stepped over the stuff in my own origmiss directory.

    thanks.

  4. Thanks for the response but I don't think my post was clear and to give you an idea of what I'm trying to figure out, let me give an example.

I already edited W_M16_RL.WAV, W_MP5_RL.WAV and W_SMP5_RL.WAV by adding audio I ripped from BHW.

Playing any mission and using BuzzGordon (weaponkit1-m16/m203) and KlausHenkel (weaponkit1- mp5/bomb) - whenever they reload, they both use the W_M16_RL.WAV. Why doesn't the mp5 reload using W_MP5_RL.WAV?

If I have Susan and Henry using silenced mp5s, I want individual "W_WhateverWeapon_RL.WAV" for each of them. But I can't find how to control what soldier/and/or/weapon uses a particular W_WhateverWeapon_RL.WAV.

  5. I've got clips of Johnny Strong (Shughart) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Gordon) yelling "LOADING!" sown into most of my w_*_rl.wav but most carbines only use one of the edited reload sounds. The RateOfFire SelectiveOption in the .GUN files only control w_*_ss.wav, w_*_ts.wav, w_*_sf.wav and w_*_rc.wav. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? Am also looking for female audio clips for whenever Astra, Lindy and Susan reload their weapons. Thanks in advance!

PS: Just in case anyone wants my modded reload wav files, PM me their email addresses and I'll send them a rar of all I've made so far.
