  1. That's right, Agent Smith is BACK! And now, he has more experience than ever and now has more resources at his finger tips.

Based on the revolutionary code written by mirr (Me and him made a partnership a long time ago), I have taken his code and now editing decals and attempting to get better blood splats and more frequent splats.

    Sample of decal change:

Features to see in the future:

    - Changing blood decals.

    - Blood splats while enemies are still alive.

    - Better looking shadows.

    - (If possible) More realistic ragdolls (More weight, less flimsy, and better deaths).

    Release date: WHEN IT'S DONE.

    Credits:

    - Special kudos to Predaaator of FPSBanana.com for porting the FEAR blood decals to Counter-Strike: Source. Now, I've converted them to GRAW, and will do some special tweaking.

    - mirr : He's the one that started the revolutionary splattering blood. Time to build upon what he's started.

  2. Those words bring a smile to my face .. welcome back Agent... now when can I give you your first mission LOL

I already have one. Change the decals to mirr's blood mod (Me and him established a partnership a LOONG time ago. I don't know where he went) to some better looking ones.

  3. First impressions:

Performance problems? I had performance problems before? This now runs insanely well on 1440x900 with everything maxed out! (I need to .xml edit for High Textures).

Also, from my memory (I haven't played the game in months), HDR is around the same.

Here's only one shot I got:

    My rig:

    Pentium D 2.8 GHz

    2 GB PC2-4200 DDR2

    eVGA Geforce 7900 GT KO

  4. Woah, another patch?

Also, call me a bit late. I'm still in my BF2142 mode. I was about to close the tab to this site and in split second, I saw "GRAW patch". That immediately alerted me and I re-opened the tab.

Nice patch notes. Hopefully there's a bit more optimization, performance wise. This is the only game my 7900 GT KO has trouble with.

  5. How can I stop playing a game that hasn't shipped yet?

I am referring to the Tom Clancy name as a whole. It is obvious that it went down the ######ter (And I apparently prefer all Clancy games post Raven-Shield, for some wierd reason) for the serious tactical gamer.

Tactical games are slowly being alienated out. It just doesn't sell. What sold like hotcakes in 2001 will not sell that fast today.

  6. Anyone remember me? I'm still poking around here, even after six months after the game has been released.

Why have I not been around? Damn simple: GRAW is dead. So is the Tom Clancy name. The Tom Clancy named died out (Tactics wise) with the introduction of Raven Shield.

I'm surprised you guys haven't seen that already. I have, and I've moved on. I've been enjoying DoD: S more than I have lately, mainly because I'm not taking it that seriously anymore. I'm now goofing off and pulling off cool things (Double kill with throwing back an enemy frag, anyone? XD), rather than to rack up my kill count.

If [GR] is so "god-like" to you guys, THEN WHY NOT KEEP PLAYING IT? I'll stick to what I like. You should too.

Developers are creating games for $$ and what's hot, not what should be made. (Excluding a few select developers, Valve and IO Interactive, to name two) Keep playing what you like. I still play America's Army to THIS DAY, and I've been going since version 1.9, which is late 2003.

  7. 1. Modability. We finally have splattering blood, which is something that was promised ("The gore level will be on par with GR1.")

    2. Hit detection. Every round you fire will land at your designated target. Your ping doesn't affect it, you'll still kill someone.

    3. Stability. The 6600 GT is a 2 year old card. It's time to upgrade for those of you that still have it. GRAW runs amazingly well and STAYS running well after a period of hours of play at a time.

    4. Destruction. This is the only FPS that comes to satisfy in terms of destruction. Almost anything can be blown up. Not only that, GRAW isn't even focusing on destruction as one of it's main features.

    5. Models. The best I have ever seen, ever.

  8. I tired v2 last night and GRAW froze at the loading screen, I'l try it again tonight though incase I had something else in the Local folder that shouldn't have been.

    I must ask.

Where do I put my new character skins if I want to use this mod? Ex. Where do I put: "atlas.dds"?

Textures -> atlas_characters -> <name of the character the skin was made for> -> diffuse

  9. The net code of GRAW is extremely well made. I just finished a game with a 140 ping and I went 17-3. I can't do that in any other game, at all. The lag would just be unbareable to play with (I'm used to <85 pings). Not only that, but networking-related lag doesn't affect hit detection AT ALL! GRAW is possibly the only game that I know of that allows that.

  10. It depends on what build it is, if it is anything but 1.20 (ie:1.10) it has an error messege about at the end of the level load saying it cant find something like starting place or entity deathcam or some s--t like that. I re installed twice and same results, try it your self and you will see it, I havent tried it with his mod but your mod does it every time

Ah, same error I had before re-installing. Delete the sb_templates folder. The problem is the global.xml.

EDIT: BTW, mirr, you have no idea how much life you've given GRAW now.

  11. On the subject at hand I was woundering if a 1.21 compatable patch can come out since Smiths mod crashes the game with it.

What's the error message that you get when it crashes?

And, mirr hasn't been online a lot, so I haven't been able to talk to him. I'll toss him a PM right now, as a matter of fact.
