  1. Ok I am going to put my thoughts down of what’s happening. GRAW came out on Xbox before PC and from what I see on the Xbox is just much smoother. It is a darn shame you have to have some SLI or crossfire or a ridiculously expensive graphics card to run GRAW on PC at a steady 40 FPS. Ubi seen that there upsetting all the PC gamers from the [Ghost Recon] series so they decided to launch a PC version of GRAW but not from Red Storm. They did not even decide to use the same engine. Instead we get a contractor called grin to make the game. Then they decide to use the diesel engine which is the worst for a graphics intense game. This is like when you try and get a job then you find out the job position is actually contracted through a agency and your not working for the actually company. Therefore you get paid half of what the job is really worth. Therefore we get half the game of what we should be getting. There are so many bugs in GRAW PC that it should not even be released yet. Even with the release of like 5 or 6 patches the game still is terribly buggy. Over 200 meg patches and game is still not processing the textures consistently. I have a 7800 GT over clocked and GRAW has lag on it on single player. My system is 64 3800 dual core with 2 gig RAM with 7800GT OC. Even with textures on medium the game is slow. So I guess what I am trying to say is us PC gamers are getting shafted. It really is a shame that it’s like this. Really is…..I am glad I did not register my game because I’m going to sell it to someone who doesn’t know any better. I am not trying to offend anyone but this seams to sum all of it up for us PC gamers. We don’t even have enough tournaments with GRAW to come close to all the ones on Xbox. Now with GRAW 2…… lol. Some of you ask what platforms will be supported….well use that common sense. The PC version will have to be made by Grin….which in turns means its going to run slow and buggy. See you guys on some other game I am out.
  2. Hello Everyone, System P43.0ghz p4ps800D-E Delux AGP 2 gig dual channel 3200 RAM 7800GS oc to 498x1430 80 WD SATA hd My problem consists of one major thing and that is system lock up. I will be playing the game and all of the sudden my system locks. I cannot Ctrl-alt-del or anything. I have to manual reboot. I tried downclocking my graphics card and that does not help. I installed new drivers and that does not help. ANY IDEAS?
  3. You mean to tell me you have to actually make your own and you cannot stretch or use mountains from th game
  4. Ok I been playing with the map editor trying o make a jungle based map for those who like nice enviornments. I am having a slight problem. I cannot figure out how to make the terrain mountainess. I dont was a jungle with a flat ground...it needs to be rugged and uneven...how do i go about doing this.
  5. I just finished reading hte Tweak guid for GRAW and in there it says you can improve performance if you have a lot of System RAM by marking true on the texured control parts of the Rendering Setings xml file. Im going to try that and post my FPS after tweaking. It just seems odd to me that the Geforce is getting better FPS and I get that slight scope lag. Very frsutrating.
  6. Is the 1.30 patch stand alone as far as installing it or do i have to install the other patches? Maybe thats why my game is running like crap. Any help would be appreciated
  7. FIRST OFF...... I FEEL GRIN IS DOING A GREAT JOB FOR WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN GIVEN. I would like to see if anyone agrees with me on this.....It seems to me the original GR was based in 3 different places. Let me be general....Woods, Desert, and semi-Jungle. Desert and Jungle being the expansion packs respectavly. The reason I say semi-Jungle is for the reason there were not enough brush and trees to make it real jungle but the intention was there. Now let me just start off with the First GR game based a semi-cold to cold russian enviornment which was woods mostly. The Red Square was in the city and Embassy which was a BAMF map but it was generally a wooded environment. Now I kept thinking to myself why are they just coming out with these mexico desert style maps? I understand the sotryline but Mexico has forests and you cna always bring the Ghosts into the forest by saying the president went to the forest in Mexico to escape the hostile city enviornment or something.....sooooo why not make a forest map or introduce a BAMF jungle map. Well I started playing with the map editor and noticed something that might be dentrimental to the production of jungle or wooded maps. I put a simple texture for ground then added about 20 trees nicely placed apart. Then I added some bushes and grass to give it a jungle feel....take in mind the terrain is still flat. I noticed major graphics lag with my 7800GS SC after panning down and taking a tour through my map. This led me to beleive the engine was not made for a forest type of enviornment and/or you need one heck of a Graphics adapter to make use of such maps. Maps from games like Far Cry and Joint Operations are heavily thick in jungle and my graphics card set all high 1280x1024 runs through them at 50 FPS no problem. Those engines seem to have the right idea...granted Joint Ops is kinda lame due to how fake the characters move in it..LOL... No offense to anyone but it looks like those little green army men you used to get in the buckets and you could set them up and shoot them with the BB gun lol. But being a former employee of NovaLogic I will say I think there terrain is awsome. Unlike GRAW....I feel as if the game just cant handle certain things and that the engine does not process graphics as well as most other new engines. I really like Jungle maps and really have no iterest in Mexico City and the biggest thing that Pi***es me off is the M4 Carbine. That was my weapon in the military and is still being heavily used by Special Forces units. That weapon is going to be used for a long time. I wish they would have had it in this game. When I bought this game and saw the weapons choice I was at a loss for words. Now I understand the game is based in the future but its not like these are the only weapons that are going to be used in the future lol. Lets be realistic yet again. Please do not bash me for my statement...I just wanted to put my two sense in and see what other people ave to say..or if anyone agrees with me.
  8. Here are my system Specs P4 3.0 478 Processor 2 Gigs of Vitesta PC 3200 RAM 80 Gig WD 8mb cache SATA HD ASUS P4PS800DE-Delux Motherboard 550Watt PSU GeForce 7800GS 256mb/256bit GDDR3 AGP OC to 491GPU and 1.4ghz Mem I recently had a ATI X850XT PE graphics card and noticed something in the game when using that card. There were small line artifacts like at the edge of the where a building meets the ground. Also I noticed that the Edge Smoothing feature pretty much sucks ***......It looks like I am looking through a dirty window when enabled. I also noticed that with this higher end AGP card that I was averaging 30FPS if I was on a lower end Map. Usually 25 to 28 on the others. With the GeForce 7800GS card I noticed I get better FPS but the game is laggier when scoped in. I adjusted the Frames ahead setting to 2 and even 1 without any noticeable difference in FPS or feel of the scope. Even at the 1280x1024 res I am running the graphics just do not seem that great. There is a lot of line movement like on the fences, Buildings, and pretty much all the objects. The ATI card even with the crappy FPS I was getting much smoother Scope action. I have installed the games on other machines and still the same issues with the two different cards. By the way... I have been through several cards to play this game for my AGP system.....So far I have been through X1600 Pro 256meg and 512..both will not run in 1280x1024 at smooth game play. After that was a 7600GS then a x1600XT256meg, and then x850XT PE and after RmAing that one I finally have come to this card which out performs all of them. I can damn near play the game smoothly at 1280x1024 with all the settings high (Manually) of course. Does anyone have any input on this. I am a computer technician by occupation(not trying to brag because computer repair is so easy noobs can do it) but don’t write me telling me to upgrade drivers or install the nvidia or ati software because of course this has been done to aid in my troubleshooting steps. I have tried everything...including trying to change bios settings with CPU turning HT off and on...which by the way I get a few more FPS with it off but i need it on because I work and play games at the same time hehe. I have also tried different clock speeds and different third party software. I personally thing the game engine sucks and is not efficient enough to keep up with today’s gaming engines. The lighting is BAMF but I really feel like the textures and some of the models are really poor. I really am willing to try anything to get this running a little smoother because a 7800GS video card that can run these huge jungle maps in Far Cry and BF2 at high Setting without any lag AT ALL and cannot run GRAW that way since its based in the damn desert of mehico is mind baffling to me. I do believe my system is pretty good o play video games....nothing special but decent enough for high settings.
  9. First off I think this game is awsome. I played a lot of the original GR and I must say the MP interface on it was simple but effective. The MP interface here I cannot say much for. I host my own coop game by the name of "Stealth Recon". I sometimes get beligerent and obnoxious poeple in my server and it would be nice to be able to kick them if necessary. Can anyone guide me in the direction of modding the game where I can do this? I looked all over the bundle file and cannot find any xml that has anything to do with kicking. Is this something that has to be worked out with Gamespy?
