[Patch 1.21 Compatable with Downloaded Verion?]

I see that the first patch requires downloaded versions use different patch. The one that came out in May.

From that time there are several others, the last being the cumulative patch (1.21) but I can not tell if it is compatible with both boxed and dl'ed versions.

Can I use the 1.21 patch for the downloaded version?

Long time GR fan and will probably have many of the same complaints as other fans.

But had to get this off my chest.

W-in-T-bloody-Fing-Hell was UBI thinking by removing the ability to enter, use and leave the bodies of squad members????

That element of GR1 was what added so much to the game!!

I know, probably overly discussed and I am rehashing old info but...Christ.

-significant loss of conrtol and detail of orders to squad members.

- in "camera mode" cant even move head around to look.

-cant give order to squad member to use secondary weapon

-when in camera mode, cant give more orders w/o exiting, going to command map, giving another order, et

Well, just babbeling but what a major dissapointment of a game-at least the SP missions-

Had a couple of questions about squad members and their use of weapons.

Sorry for the simplistic questions but I purchased the download version and it comes with what does not even reach the "Idiot Guide" level.

-when I arm a squad member say with a GL- can I deliver order to use the weapon....? Or am I at the mercy of the AI's "decision" to emply the GL?

-unless there is some way to arm squad members with hand grenades, it seems that this can not be done- Is there any way to do this?

Really missing the ability to occupy and contol squad members....going to camera mode and looking out squad members eyes, is great and all, but it wouild at the very least be nice to be able to look around.

Anyway of modifying this element of the game?

Was impaitent and bought a Dl version from Direct2Drive and did not get manual to speak of.

Anyone have a "manual" or link to site with more detail on giving orders?

Squad members just start blazin away when sent to a location.

Can I order them to use grenade rather than shoot out with enemy?

No smoke???

Well, anyway, if any more info is available regarding managment of team is available, that would be great.

Hope this is right forum section-

Long time fan of original GR and have a couple of questions about DL vs Retail Box versions, control of squad members and HUD/ Cross Com.

I was impatient and DLed the game from direct2drive and notice the the patches are different- was wondering if this going to effect compatibility in online games or if the versions are different in anyway that will make the use of mods difficult.

The manual I got with the dl is really useless and tried ordering the Prima guide but got the XBox version.....great.

Question: anyone know of a good manual out there or article that addresses the use of the command map?

I notice in all the PR and in game videos (that I assumed were of the PC version anyway) represents the squad members Cross Com HUDS displaying full video feeds...

What I have is a "blue print like" visual...is this correct or is there another setting?

Alos, Is there any way of toggeling the hud info on and off?
