  3. yeah i took the server down to join beerdrinkinassassins server... they had 20 ppl in it playing the map... and mine had none at the time... dedicated too

  5. Already asked GRIN about modifying their maps, they said no it cant be done. I believe its because they have the package files needed and all we have is the bundle. Ted Smith is not giving up easily... he believes it can be done and we all have faith. I have just thrown a dedicated server up entitled "War has begun!!" ... so download and join : )

  7. I had to rename the map from "Steel Desert" to "WAR" when i realized the editor wasnt going to let me use certain models and things. So anyways its ready... I have a lot of screenshots here for your enjoyment and a link to download it.... I have had a blast testing it with i2.Dislexic as my beta tester. This i believe is the first working Team DeathMatch map, thanx to Ted for his help in making this work. The scoreboard may not work the same as regular TDM (So just watch the end of the match to see which side had the most kills to know the winner) cause it is still going to show the map as Domination... So when you want to host this map, make sure you choose Domination to find it. I will have a regular DeathMatch version released shortly... and if ppl like this map enough and want a night version i can do that also.   9. Thanx uZeal, i completely forgot about that... oh well... i had some cool stuff to put in here too. I had to take a break last night, but i'm gonna work on it some more today. Maybe we can get Wille to comment on the Angel Monument? I have to remove it from the map, and it looked nice too... so with what package can we use the angel, because all i get on it is checkers. If GRIN has a cheatsheet to show what Props work with each package it would be a big time saver, and help prevent discouragement from making maps. I'm gonna finish this damn map if it kills me.
  10. Thanx uZeal, i completely forgot about that... oh well... i had some cool stuff to put in here too. I had to take a break last night, but i'm gonna work on it some more today.

Aparerntly theyre not... something is wrong.. i did the draft already also and when i played the game i still had checkers and the game gave me an error too and crashed graw. what i may end up doing is deleting a bunch of auto saves to restore it back to playable with no checkers and remake it from there. Alright more new info... i think i know why i got checkers and stuff... i remember hitting Backspace to delete something thinking i was hitting delete and pooof checkers were everywhere... well i deleted all the checkers at that time or so i thought... anyways dont hit "backspace". More cool new info... i will have two maps released soon.. Steel Desert - TDM, and Steel Desert - DM ......... soon is all i can say, gotta re-do a bunch of stuff

  14. Man, After it compiled it woke me up at 3 am with bizarre sound effects like something outta Doom... Then i load the map to see checkered spots all over my map in different areas.... after 2 hours of searching for the culprit, i found 3 spots where i added water... accidently, and i thought i removed them... turns out i dont know how to remove water... whatever you do ppl watch out for water.. can really ruin a map .... anyways 2 hours later i deleted the water out through the xml file... was hoping i would get this released this morning but now its gonna take another 3 hours to compile again... and i still am not 100 % sure that was what was causing the checkers... more info later. Well it compiled faster when i took out the water but i still have the checkers all over my map. Has anyone else experienced that yet?

  16. Thanx... there is elevation... its the stairs in the map.... I dont believe we have a way to adjust ground yet... unless we use 3dsmax... and thats not ready from what i can see
  17. Oh this is gonna be a team deathmatch, but it will show up as domination in the server list. if all goes well

  19. Yep, just made mine too.... my test map... and its cool... its a big desert map with lots of burned out cars and things all around... and it works. i can also fall off the map through the beginning spawn, and all corners. So gotta add walls around it, and put something big in the middle

  22. This may or may not help you, but i had a small conversation a while back with a GRIN rep and that was one of the questions i asked. Can you mod GRIN maps? he said "No, I don't think you'll be able to edit the current maps and add more "things" to the maps. Editor is coming, though, so you'll get your chance there - not to edit the current ones, but to create new levels."
  23. Ok, does anyone know how i can see the sky and the ground at the same time? In the old editor i saw both when i turned off post effects, but now its not working
  24. No editor instructions for deathmatch anywhere... If anyone has an idea of how this is accomplished please post... Also, do we have to download user made maps from a website or is there an auto download function ingame? nm i found this: All players wanting to play your map must have a local copy of it."
