Now wait a minute here....FRIEND....
-
And by the same token, when the crap hits the fan, its a damn fine comfort to know that the swabbies have our 6 covered! Semper Fi, my friend ! !
-
That's true, my friend, but like everyone else, you're damn glad to see us when the crappola hits the fan ! ! Afterall, the deadliest weapon in the world is a US Marine and his rifle ! !
-
I was one of Uncle Sam's Misguided Children also, and DAMN PROUD to be one!! OURAHH!!!
-
At least we are smart enough to wear pads.

@warhawk, And perhaps you would like to explain to the class why the calouses on your knees and the baldness on you swabbies' forheads seem to start at the same time you guys are licking your chops ! ! WHOOT !!!

Are you clicking play when the CD autoruns, or are you using the .exe on your programs menu, or a shortcut? Try going right into the GR directory on your HDD and clicking on the ghostrecon.exe there. If it works, then you know you have a corrupt shortcut, and you need to delete the old one and make a new one. If you are clicking when the cd auto runs, and it's not working, but it works from the GR directory, then most likely is a scratched cd, or your cd drive is going kaput. Trying the .exe right from the GR directory should tell ya where your problem lies. If it doesnt work from t

Well, warhawk, I still have all my hair. We all know that swabbies are a belly rest for the Marines ! ! OURAHHHH!!!!!! Semper Fi buddy ! ! If I didnt mess with ya, you'd think I didn'yt love ya anymore.

Alas, I am also stuck on this one. It looks from the log like it's not finding certain directories within the GR directory to load files from. I agree with WK77 here. Load up NU and run Nortin WinDoctor and see if that fixes it. Also, run Disk Doctor, there may be a bad or corrupt sector on your HDD. In a couple of very rare cases, I have seen a defrag fix a problem like this, when drive was above 30% fragmented, but those were RARE cases. See what WK77's advice turns up. Run both of those programs and see if they turn up anything. Also, could possibly be a corrupt GR directory, si

Like was stated earlier, the Royal Marines are more of a commando oriented unit of service - the USMC is not. It's like comparing apples and oranges. Even the US Navy Seals only get as much basic training as whatever service the individual came from. The rest of the training is specialized. The Royal Marines, if I'm not mistaken, are something akin to a USMC Force Recon unit, only on an entire service branch level, not a specialized unit within a branch. You really cant compare the two at all.

Well, let's see....did you just copy the stuff over, or did you use Ghost or Drive Image, or another utility of that nature. Also, go into your bios and see if there are any disk utilities in there that were enabled automatically when you added the drive. There are some bios's out there that automatically enable utilities such as SmartDrive and a few others.

Out of the ones you have to choose from, I'd go with the FireGL. You'll be able to handle better color depth and more textures with it.

The FAL and the G3 are the same caliber - 7.62X51, otherwise known as 308 NATO. From that standpoint, neither is better than the other. The FAL was designed with ruggedness in mind. The G3is rugged, yes, but the tolerances are much tighter, and a little more unforgiving. The FAL, I believe, is also a tad lighter, and surplus parts are more plentiful also. Of the two weapons, I think, having used them both, that the FAL is better suited to a desert environment. But make no mistake - both are excellent weapons.

Yeah ! ! Definitely 86 the UBI idea. I would not suggest going down that particular road at all.
-
Hey. Break out the Wild Turkey Rare Breed ! ! Now that's sippin' whiskey! ! Yessir ! !

So far , all are great ideas. But the thermal imaging isnt all that realistic yet. Its way to expensive for general field use, and only used in extreme cases by a very few elite units such as the Seal's. It's very heavy, and it also runs hot, from what I hear, and has to be cooled. I could be wrong though.

104 degrees f. you can proly get that lower by applying a fan to your GPU, but that shouldnt be causing your trouble. That really isnt that hot. You may want to ask snakebite1967. He is very very good with the GF cards, ands has run and tweaked just about every chipset they have. HE may have an idea for you.

how realistic do u want ghost recon 2 to be?
Specter replied to cajun47's topic in GR2 PC - [Cancelled]
That is a blessing. I have really gotten to hate ubi. -

Definitely better geometry, more interaction with civvies and contacts and such, realistic weapons load outs, being able to use more of the map...ie. walk up hills, perch on boulders, etc.... and here's the biggie... DO NOT RUIN MP like they did with Ravenshield, by making us go through UBICRAP ! ! -
Are you running any other programs on your server at the sametime you are running GR?
-
I didnt know you could play before. Have you changed anything else on your notebook? Directx versions, added sp1 for XP, anything like that? Have you added a firewall, any new utility programs? If you could play before, you have changed something, or Windows has changed something since you were last able to play. If not, I'm as stuck as you are. Either something changed, or it running before was a fluke. Typically, the video you have would be the trouble. Let me know if you can think of anything. I'd be glad to help. Have you tried varying the resolutions and the deta

Hey now ! ! Fishman ! ! Watch it there buddy ! ! LOL And Warhawk, only on the rarest of occassions ? ? Little white lies do not become you, my belly rest swabby friend, you ! ! Like they say, " The deadliest weapon in the world is a US Marine and his rifle ! !" OURAH ! !

It should work then. Did you go to the options screen and the mods tab and activate the mod?

Hello Dreamer. I think I can help here. First off, you arent really gaining anything by having 2 NIC's. Even the cheapest NIC's can handle up to 10 Megabits, and you are pushing no where near that much data. And I would venture to say that you have a 10/100 NIC. THe router, if I'm not mistaken also is a switch. The internet side of the router runs at 10megabits, unless you are getting satellite internet in your home. And even if you are, satellite usually pushes no more than 4-5 megabits. On a cable or DSL connection, most likely you are pushing no more than 1.5megabits, certainly no mo
