You'd be surprised on how much you can fudge processor specs, as long as you have a decent video card and enough RAM.

Sapphire makes an excellent product. never had a bad one. I highly recommend them, and they are backed not only by their own warranty, but by ATI as well. For 3 years. good choice, bro ! !

let's not forget about RAID.

Actually, no. If I get my ass handed to me by someone who isn't cheating, and i mean cheating, not using moves available in the game, then I got my ass handed to me because they were the better player, plain and simple. I play the game to have fun. If I win, hey great, if I don't, it was still fun. And as I said before, if you would use something like that, more power to you. And I did say tht it was my OPINION that it would be a pretty useless addition. That is my opinion. It isn't something i would ever use, because of the way I play. i'm not into all that run and gun crap. Just

well then, it's a good thing we are all in it for the MP then, eh?

Of course there are clips. Problem is, 95% of the people in the online world substitute "clip" for magazine. Idjits. ← It isn't just the online world. It's the real world, too. Go take a small survey. You'll be sufficiently amused at how many people, even so-called gun nuts, call everything a clip, and don't use the term magazine. BtW, the clips for the S&W revolvers come in what they call full moon clips- a single clip that holds 6 rounds, just pops into the cylinder like a speed loader, and a halfmoon clip, which holds 3 rounds.
-
Specifically, those CLIPS are used in some of the S&W revolvers, particualrly the model 625 series, chambered for 45ACP, in barrel lengths 3.5", 4", and 6 inch. What a sweet shooting gun those are too. I used to have one of each. they are collectors items, or were, as there were only 3000 of each one made, at least back in the year they were introduced. I don't know if that has changed since then, though. But clip is indeed a correct term, and CLIPS were also used in the M1 Garand, held 8 rounds, and loaded in from the top of the receiver. So, to get really nitpicky like tort d

As for your video card question, if you are running a dedi-server, it doesn't need to be anything special, however it should meet the minimum requirements.
-
You need the same workgroup name, different IP's if using static ip addressing versus DHCP. If using a firewall, ports 2346-2347 must be enabled to pass through to each machine. Both machines must be running the same version of the game, and the same mods, if any, and those versions must be the same also. Using a direct connection between both computers, regardless of being a PC or MAC, requires a crossover networking cable, not a standard one.

Supply points?! Surely you jest ! ! This isn't Quake or UT with power ups ! ! Let's keep this real. Being able to pick up enemy weapons is indeed a good idea. Look at the movie, Tears of The Sun, for example. The sniper had his M21, had an M4 on his back, his pistol, grenades, etc. Some of the others had AK's and such as well as their primaries. That is realistic. But supply points in game out in the mission? No way is that realistic. that just turns the game into another arcade FPS like Quake or something. This is a TAC SIM. Let's keep it somewhat real.

ROFLMFAOPIMP ! ! And in the heat of battle, I'm sure every single one of us will remember back to this post, and chastise ourselves for not using those definitions, and taking the time to think about it ! ! OMG ! !

I believe that if you search, you'll find that there is a big old thread on that very thing in and around here somewheres, and i believe it even got locked. I'd suggest looking that thread up, and NOT taking this thread down that road. JMO.

Crowman, papa6, CONGRATS to both of you ! !

Ah, yes, the deadly roll over onto your back ninja move. You know they use wires to achieve that finesse, right? Ah, yes. I was wondering if this thread would degenerate into empty boasting. You guys are funny. Two things: 1) Take a handgun out in the woods, hang a target on a tree, lay down on your back twelve feet from said tree, and start shooting at the target. I think you'll be surprised at how accurately you can shoot. You're eyes and brain don't go googly when you're on your back. Now try it with a rifle. Now imagine you can hear a man walking towards
-
Ecept with a full pack, camel's back, etc, there is no "quick" roll onto your back. But for those of you in favor of the move, I hopee you get it. More opportunity forr me tto shoot you while you'rre busy trying to roll over on all youur gear.

It seems to me that only a month or so before release, we should be seeingsomething, that even a demo should maybe be out. And I wouldn't bllame the community fo anything, as far as nfo release goes. very game out theere has nay saers and worshippers alike, and every game from just about every publisher goes through the same thing that GRAW has gone through with this community. Even with GR, a month or so before release we had info and a beta. But in any case, this close to release, there is no real reaso to blame lack of anything on the community. It's all on the publisher now, and

If I'm that sniper, 1) I'm not going to have to get close enough for that "move" to work, and 2) there isn't going to be enough time for them to find me and use that move. One, snipers best work from a distance, and two, im not going to wait around long enough for them by jusst staanding there saying "Hey, wait a minute. They may know that one dumb move wheere they roll over onto their backs on top of all their equipment to shoot me. I'm going to wait and see if they can use that."

I'd say a broken wire on the headset, possibly screwed up jack. More than likely a broken or stretched wwire on the headse itself. Dude, with your luck with PC's, andd all your issues with your PC, you reallly need to be babyin that thing alot more than you do.
-
Yes, in that case, it does sound like a broken wiree. But it6 is very posssible to blow the littlle headset speeakers out maxxxing out the volume.

No one said to buy a low-end card. We merely suggested not going highend and the latest thing out, nless you havve that kind of money laying about thatyou don't need. No one said run out and buy a 60.00 video card. We just siad it was unnecessary o go top of the line.
-
Y'all keep this quiet now, as I wouldn't want it to get out, but I actually agree with Roco ! ! SHHHH!!!!! (Anyone who knows our history will understand, eh, Roco?)
-
Now we're talking. More dynamic surroundings like that. Also, being able to make the use of hill tops and ridges, unlike in GR, where they were off limits. Being able to get your sniper on the high ground.
-
Like I said, it was just my personal opinion, and I know the opinion of others. No need for argument. I have played coop and TvT since GR was a demo, the same with the R6 and RS series. In all that time, mention of the move or missing it for that matter never came up. I've just never heard one single person til now say, "Hey, we need that." Even TvT, which is just coop against human players, I still can't see where the need for it would arise. But as I said, it's just my opinion.
-
It should be if the connections are the same.

It isn't that it's so much a resource hog. Look at the keyboard combos and controls now. It's just another that you will have to reach for, since all the convenient keys are already used. And most of us would never dream of using it. We have never had it in a game to use. As for your MP question, no, I have never had to shoot anyone in the back, after "stumbling" on them. Frankly, I have never in GR, or any other TAC Si I have had the pleasure to play with these folks or others, and I have played GR and the R6 games since demo days for both, have never seen or anticipated a need fo
