Then uninstall them and go back to the old drivers. Go into the BIOS and make sure the fastwrites option in your mobo BIOS is turned off. Also make sure that the boot up display device in your BIOS is set to AGP, and not PCI. Sometimes it makes a difference. How much Video RAM does that card have on it? If 64, set the AGP Aperture in the BIOS to 32, if 128, set it 64. In the advanced settings, make sure that Vertical Sync is turned off, and that in your driver settings, Fastwrites is also turned off. God, I hate ATI. their drivers just SUCK ! ! That's why i went back to N

Do you have a spare video card lying around? I'm starting to get a serious hunch that this is more than a driver problem. Get with me on Messenger, and let's set up a time when I can remote into your machine and take a look.
-
Nope. As long as you got rid of all traces of the old drivers before installing the new ones, you should be good to go.
-
No, they don't. I just verified it at their site. Also, I just bought one of their cards. Strictly Nvidia. Check it out here.

Normally, Maxtor makes excellent drives. This would be the first one I've heard of doing this. especially since they bought out Quantum, who was an industry leader for nearly a decade. but don't mess with it Rocky. Just get it replaced. It will just become a majo headache if you don't. check with maxtor though. I think they may go 3 years on their OEM drives.

go to Guru3D, download Driver Cleaner. Uninstall all drivers for your video card. Then run Driver Cleaner. then go to your C: drive and make sure their are no ATI folders listed on C:\ or in C:\Program Files. If there are, delete the folders. Shut your PC down for 15 seconds and restart it. Install Omega Drivers. Shutdown and reboot. Set up the settings the way you want them and go from there.

HD2 is my SATA boot drive (120Gb) Anyone got any advise on maybe tracking down the bad block? I could stop using the partition that it's in (hopefully not the boot partition)... or I could start to prepare for a fresh install on a new drive. This one should still be under warranty anyway - less than 2 years old...? ← Depends on who made the drive, and whether it's an OEM drive or not, for the warranty duration. You couldn try Vopt 7 for XP. I believe it will mark bad blocks so that they are no longer used. I know Norton Speed Disk and Disk Doctor do this, but chances are,

Always leave Fastwrites off, unless on a really old machine. fastwrites on can actually cause lock up issues and such. Taken from here. Taken from here. Let me know if you need anything else.

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc...13/m/4101009504 Please also see this post later in this thread, as the posted specs are not 100%. ← i have pent 4 1.80ghz 1.79ghz 512mb ram video card 9600xt ati, am i going to be ok with this? ← Probably. Depends on who you listen too. Smart money says wait and try it out before spending massive amounts of money on hardware upgrades. You would be surprised.

You really don't want to get the zealot started here, do ya', Dannik?

Read about it here.

Omega Drivers are DA' BOMB ! !
-
When you uninstall the drivers for the primary, it will uninstall them all.
-
All is normal, and your drivers are installed. The SEC is for a secondary display, which all modern graphics adapters have nowadays for hooking up dual monitors.

I was talking with Dannik the other night, trying to figure out how to get him a decent low cost vid card, and he was telling me that Canadians have to pay horrendous taxes or Duty on anything that comes in across the border. for instance, i showed him a 65.00 card, fine for what he wanted it for, but duty would have been 50.00-60.00 on top of the card price and shipping. I'm not sure how it works with private party to private party though. You may want to check with a couple of the Canucks about.

GRAW PC Magazine Advert.....Finally!
Specter replied to Dick Splash's topic in GR:AW (PC) - General Discussion
Like I said, I doubt either would happen. But you should be aware, because technically, you can get your ass handed to you. I just thought you should be aware of it is all. just trying to help. -
Watch shipping to Canada. Duty charges are a killer.

anytime you uninstall a driver, it uninstalls the device as far as Winblows is concerned. you are on the right track. Once you uninstall it, shut your PC down for 15 seconds, then reboot. This will clear all traces from memory and cache. Then reboot and install the Omega's. Once the Omega's are installed, reboot. You will be good to go.

GRAW PC Magazine Advert.....Finally!
Specter replied to Dick Splash's topic in GR:AW (PC) - General Discussion
Actually, TECHNICALLY speaking, he could get in trouble for this. TECHNICALLY SPEAKING. And Ubi isn't the only one who could possibly nail him. The magazine could also, if they wanted to get nasty about it. True, it's highly doubtful that either scenario would come to pass. But it is highly illegal to use intellectual property, electronic, print, video, or audio without express permission from all sources involved, and without citing those sources in a very detailed manner. I would at least cover my ass by citing the sources, and giving credit where it belongs. most people won't giv -
They don't make Nvidia stuff. Only Ati. CR6 is mistaken with his post. Their entire product line, all of their product lines for that matter are geared towards ATi. Even their mobo chipsets are from Ati. CR6 does know his stuff. It must simply be a mis-type on his part.

GRAW PC Magazine Advert.....Finally!
Specter replied to Dick Splash's topic in GR:AW (PC) - General Discussion
Yeah. Rocky really should get on the phone to Ubi and get permission to have their add scanned to his site. And get permission from the magazine to copy it from their publication. This could, if they wanted to pursue it, get very ugly for Rocky. He could potentially face multiple lawsuits here. not to mention get the site shut down by his webhost for violating copyright laws. -
Multiplayer issue with Linksys wireless router

Correction on the port numbers: they should be 2346-2347. -
In the past, Sapphire never had a big name like ASUS, MSI, BFG etc, but they are now a tier 1 board maker for Nvidia and are often the first to put out new gen Nvidia cards onto the market. I just don't like their freaky white/black striped mannequin mascot. ← They are a tier one board maker for ATI, not Nvidia. I agree on the mascot issue. their marketing department had to be totally stoned the day they came up with that.

That's the RAM onboard your video card.

Amen. None of those arcady features.
