  1. You've always been able to do that with firefox and Opera.
  2. Right click on your desktop and go to Properties. Choose the Settings tab, and click on the Advanced button in the lower right corner. Choose the Adapter tab, and about 2/3 of the way down, you should see a button that says List all Modes. Click it, and select your desired settings. You can probably run 1024X768 32-bit at 75Hz.
  3. Heh. This thread has been hijacked since post #3. ROFL ! !
  4. You say this is a new computer? You need to update your video drivers. Those old nvidia drivers are probalby having serious issues with directx 9.0c. Just a side note, that card is plenty good enough to run gr. But, the resolution your running at, the refresh rate can cause eye problems and headaches for you. I would lower the resoluton enough so that you can get the refresh rate to at least 75Hz. Also, go into the BIOS, and disable your onboard sound, since you have the Audigy. That can be causing problems as well.
  5. Spectre65 radio check: God is in the tower. Do I have a green light? One shot behind the ear, and I'll turn him off like a switch ! !
  6. Sigh. Well, remember everything i showed you, and go uninstall/re-install the drivers, and let me know. Oh, and uh Foxtrot, RE-ENABLE SYSTEM RESTORE.
  7. Do a System Restore to the time when we installed the drivers I sent you, and see if that fixes it. If it does, I'd say that something with that feAR demo fubarred things.
  8. Tabbed browsing and alot more bloat. It's still really slow compared to FF or opera. Also, it's supposed to be more secure, but the jury is still out on that one.
  9. It may be the FfEAR Demo. That may just be a game you aren't going to be able to play on that card. I hear that is a graphics card eater of a game. And since it didn't do this anymore until you re-installed the FEAR demo, I'd say the two are linked.
  10. The same stuff you were smoking when you got yours ! ! ROFL ! !(J/K)
  11. personally, I think the only connection this game has to Ghost recon, is Ubi wanting to use Tom Clancy's name to market it. Nothing more. that and to tie it to a game that defined a genre.
  12. You get over it. It's a ######ing video game. All of this "tacsim" garbage is ridculous. The game is for entertainment, period. And there is nothing Rambo about the move discussed. If you had any reading comprehension, you'd realize that. ← Why don't we all get over it? I think all that can be said on this has been. And it is a TAC Sim. Well, for the serious players, anyway. So why don't we all get over the insults? Or is that too much to ask? Maybe it's too much since a couple of you keep doing it. I think someone needs to lock this thread.
  13. What video card is in it, and what version of directX? Also, what version of video drivers are you using? slap your DXDIAG report up here for us to peruse.
  14. What would be neat, is to take GR, put it on something like the Source Engine that HL2 uses, open up access to all the terrain and more of the buildings, and smarten up the AI. I would sell something to go buy it if they did that. @Ronin, I agree. I don't think there is going to be the slightest resemblance to GR from what we have seen and heard so far. I have this eery feeling that it's going to resemble BF2(ACK! ! What a lousy waste of money and CD of a game ! ! IT SUCKS ! !) more than GR.
  15. The only reservation I would have is that the board is an Asrock, and they are pretty famous for being limited on options, and not real configurable. That may have changed, but I'm not so sure. I just haven't had alot of luck with them.
  16. Figures. I think EA is right. Ubi is really pushing it.
  17. You can do it that way, but depending on where you plug it in, Windows may not be the C drive. But then XP doesn't really care, as it can be loaded on any drive, as long as it's loaded on a primary partition, but some of your apps might. Just something to keep in mind.
  18. that is the definition of ATI - They S U C K ! !
  19. And just because something is possible in real life, doesn't mean it should be done, or that it's going to translate well to a game.
  20. Sometimes the latest and greatest drivers aren't always the answer. sometimes going back only a step or two is, especially when dealing with DX8.xx hardware. The ones I sent you aren't really old, they are only 3 revisions back. You don't always want to stay with the oldest drivers either, but going to the latest isn't always the right answer. Just remember to check what I showed you in DXDIAG when I remoted in. I hope we got you all fixed up.
