Prague, Czech Republic 8th of April - As a continuous support of its titles, dedicated community and customers, Bohemia Interactive, the award winning independent developer, is pleased to announce the release of the final update for its complex military simulator Arma: Armed Assault. Update version 1.18 is available now!

    The most important fix is compatibility with Windows 7 64bit.

    This new update is available for immediate download from the project´s homepage www.armedassault.com

    You just got to love bis support for their games, nearly 5 years afther release, and they patch the game !

    And making it copatible with newer os aswell :thumbsup:

    Some of the changes :

    Changed the insertion aircraft from the an2 to the merlin, you're also now starting on the ground, with the engines off ( and in the briefing it's mentioned why :P )

    Uppdated units and weapons, all 4 teams now got a medic, and the three assault teamleaders (spotters) got a backpack with 1x M79 and 4x Flares ( different collour for the teams )

    All assault teamleaders got sd rifles, medics not. Snipers got no nv scope on their rifles, and it's quite dark outside.

    Also added a few suprises, and streamlined it more.

    Mission now uses baf and pmc units, and needs combined ops to run.

    If anyone tries it, plz leave feedback to me

  3. The missions are nice, but i got one gripe

    i think you're using some sort of ups script in them, right?

    the patroll zones are visible in the briefing map......

    you might want to add something like this to your init.sqf :

    "ups1" setmarkeralpha 0;

    "ups2" setmarkeralpha 0;

    "ups3" setmarkeralpha 0;

    "ups4" setmarkeralpha 0;

    were ups1 to 4 is the marker names.

    that way they won't show up in the briefing.

    "Your are part of a 4 nation black ops mission deep inside Takistan.

    Your mission is to eliminate a high ranking terrorist leader, named Alexjev Baretjov,

    his local training officer, col. Felix Zahir,

    and the warlord funding the whole thing, codename ViceGuy, real name unknown.

    To maximise the effect of the hit's, you have to eliminate all 3 targets within 60 seconds.

    A secondary objective is also available : The destruction of the workshop used to manufacture the electronic detonators used by the Chernarus terrorists.

    Remember to keep the airplane safe, it's your only way to exfiltrate Takistan afther the mission is done."

    A nice, intence mission, with a focus on teamwork, and coordination.

    Hope you folks enjoy it.

    Requires ArmA2 Combined Operations, BAF is highly recomended, but it does run with baf light. Mission uses baf units for the SAS team.

    This little mission was made by Viper in 2004 for VBS1. I tried to get in touch with him but it seems he's no more active or using a different username here.

    Cheers for that little mission mate, I enjoyed it a lot back then.

    Your team is dropped by helicopter in the southern Zargabad province. Your targets are a high ranking Takistani officer and a local militia leader. Use your evasive skills to prevent capture, and then blow a SCUD launcher on the way home.

    Nothing too fancy, just if you are detected near the SCUD launcher you better haul ######.

    I just spent an amazing hour here, with this mission. I'll highly recomend playing this mission withn a friend, it's amazing. Hadn't realised that Zargabad was this big a map

  6. bit late, but still :

    I'm just using yaw and pitch ( on smooth settings 5 ).

    I'm using track ir with the pro clip.

    One thing you can do, if you got multiple screens, is to put up the tracking on the second screen, so that you can see whatg the trackir is seeing as well.

    Have helped me a couple of times, when it has acted a bit wierd.

    you can also see if you need to adjust the proclip that way.

  7. Just a little hint of the game's preformance ( if you got amra1 that is )


    One thing is changed from that pic, aa is normal now.

    I do sometimes reach fps of 25, that is as LOWas 25 fps.... it usualy runs @ 50+ fps.

    Arma1 with the same settings = 15-60 fps ( 15-25 in the forest areas of the north )

    And, this is on chernarus , not the utes iseland ;)

    So they definently have managed to do something right with this.

    Ohh, and it seems like there are fewer bugs in it as well, than the armed assault release, so you definently have something nice to look forward to. ( just wish xfire would supposrt it now, so i could get some video and pictures to you lot

  8. Demo will be released next week, I expect monday or tuesday. We are now testing it, as we cut a lot of data and landscape it's quite difficult to not forget anything. Size will be around 2 GB.

    Just for your information, so warm up thos broadband connections, and clear out some space on the hdd, coz the demo is inbound!

    (or, you could ofcourse just play the whole game :P )

  9. Final version of patch 1.01 was released today

    *People who installed the english language files, need to restore the german ones back before patching.

    If you didn't back up the germans ones, then you have to reinstall the game fresh and then patch.

    And that is another example of why you realy should use mod folders ;)

    as a side note, the dedicated server file ( sorry, not linux as far as i know ) is released as well ( just in beta for the time being, but bis betas is usualy quite stable )

  10. yeah, or it might just be that half the us and europe is on there asking questions about the game they are still waiting for, wile the rest ogfeurope have bought the german release ( i saw one online shop managed to go out of stock within about an hour of the release...!)

    And, i know there's a lot of the buyers that aren't in germany, and that not nesseserly speak german as well, me inkluded ;) and we're probably not helping.......

  11. well, arma1 is a real system cruscher..... but arma 2 runs smoother on my rig, that it's brother does.....

    ps, cant realy compare it to crysis myself, not having tried that...

    About the sound issue, well, youtube aren't know to have greate sound quality now, are they? and, then you also have the posibility that the video is recorded on a rig with realy lousy sound on...
