Hmm... Strange.
I just updated with the latest drivers as well, and I can play games like GTA 4 and Mirror's Edge without a hitch. Well, not entirely true about GTA4 since it's a horrible port, but nothin like in [GR] and RvS.

Hello,
I decided to re-install [GR] after realising there will probably never be released a new game of the same tactical nature anytime soon. But, I have updated my 3D card since last time I played it (which would be for the better I assumed) - from a 7-series to a 8-series GeForce, namely a 8800GT.
The problems were apparent already in the main menu. The mouse point stuttered every 2-3 seconds. When I start the game itself up, the problem persists - every 2-3 seconds the framerat drops dramatically for a split second, causing the game to stutter. It's mostly unplayable, but if I rely on the AI to do most of the work, it works somehow (yes, I'm that desperate to play this game...), and I finished a couple of mission.
I tried Raven Shield as well, and EXACTLY the same problem rears its ugly head there. I read somewhere that disabling "UseHardwareTL" in the .ini would fix it, but no dice. Same stuttering. I assume both games run on the Unreal engine, so I guess there is where the problem lies - running the engine on XP with a 8800 GT.
Is anyone else having the same problem with their 8800 card? Is there anything that can be done to fix this?
Thanks!

I lost more and more of my team as the game progressed. Not very often for the early missions, but usually at least one for the later missions. When I was close to the end of a mission, I sometimes used my remaining team members as a "decoy" in front of the team to get the enemies to reveal their positions so I didn't die from overlooking a sniper or something...

I am getting the error that says failed to log in with the submitted username and password (or something like that). It seems that after I register a user, it wont really register. I get the same error message when I try to log into a non-existant account.
Do you get a verification in your e-mail after you register to see that your new account actually exists?

Alright. I can live with SecuROM I guess. Since the game is that good

ToCA Race Driver 3 uses StarForce, and it's annoying as hell. My computer even has problems booting with the DVD in the drive! It gets stuck when it looks for BOOT discs, so I have to eject it to continue... since it, you know, isn't a boot disc. I have no idea how to safely remove the device drivers and other secret software StarForce installed on my system. Removing the games that uses it isn't enough

Hi,
I have been playing the demo for a while now, and I'm hoping I will be able to find the game in stores tomorrow. But before I go out and guy it, I would like to know if there is some kind of copy protection on the disc.
My CD/DVD player dislike some copy protections, as do I, so it would be nice to know if it will read it properly. If it has StarForce I don't think I will even bother buying it. SecuROM is also a hassle. So hope anyone can help!
Thanks.

It appears all my games were suffering from the same problem, which lead me to look at other things than drivers. I disabled quiter a few processes, and now it seems to be running nicely. Now I only need to find out which process it was.
Is there a software I can download that give me complete control of every process that starts up automatically? Windows Defender apparently doesn't catch all of them.
Thanks.
