  1. Postal, what kind of frame rates do you get in other games? I'm not sure if theirs a vsync setting in the options, but if there is, disable it. It will allow you to yield higher framerates, With vsync on, it will max out at your monitors refresh rate, which 60hertz is default for most monitors as far as I know.
  2. I suppose that the textures are at medium?
  3. If you've ever played EverQuest 2, during launch no system could go near the highest graphical settings, and there still aren't a whole lot of systems that can play that game now with everything on max.
  4. I'm not saying that you can't be here if GR is the only game you play, I'm just wondering why isn't he playing CoD2 as it's so great?
  5. I voted no, but it depends what hardware. On the average gamers hardware, maybe. My rig is 6 months old, I am running an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego Core CPU Overclocked @ 2.8Ghz, 1GB (2x512MB) Mushkin Redline XP4000 DDR500 @ 2-2-2-5 1T command rate, X850XT PE PCI-E (not overclocked), Audigy 2 ZS Gamer Edition Audio card, Western Digital 250GB SATA2 16 MB Cache HDD, DFI LanParty uT NF4 Ultra-D Motherboard, Tagan 480W PSU. I am running everything on high (including textures) except for the ground detail, as I get black splotches everywhere. I get an average of 25FPS, and my minimum FPS at these settings is 22. My resolution is set at 1024x768. I never get any lag or choppiness either.
  6. I personally dont like the voice comms, as Ventrilo and Teamspeak are out there that can do the job very well, and I don't want to hear all those kiddies yelling and whining on it like on CS:S.
  7. Actually there was only 1, as the other one was a hotfix for SLI/Dual Core PC's? How long did it take for that hotfix to be released? About a month wasn't it? We already had a patch in less than 10 days after release. Their SDK was just released around April as well, so thats a few months after release. graws patch was being worked on well before the release since they knew about the problems way ahead of time. do you recall the server 1.06 on the day of release? look at the installers notes to version 1.0 to 1.06 we are at 1.02 so its been sitting and waiting. they just gave you a little food is all and it didnt fix anything really either. IW knew about the problems with their game, and it took them 6 months to create a patch. We have been pretty much been guaranteed a patch in June, if not, July. And you call fixing these issues: - Client no longer receives "CD key rejected" message when server dies in coop. - Crosscom border now correctly disappears when spawning into AI ghost in coop. - Fixed issues with leaving mission area in coop. - Fixed in-mission inventory issues that could cause double gun objects. - Player nicknames are now correctly shortened to fit Ghost leader HUD in coop. - A memory leak occurring in certain situations when playing Domination has been sealed. - Ghost AI is now less likely to stare at the walls when taking cover. - Adjusted map settings and glitches on missions 3, 4 and 10. - Certain animations have been corrected. - Adjusted sounds for certain objects. - Some text strings have been added or corrected. Not really fixing anything? Fixing a memory leak can help quite a bit. If CoD2 is so grand, then why are you here?

  9. I had gotten this before the patch with my machine gunner. It appears to be just a bug where he keeps repeating 'reloading' because he was also shooting at the enemy. He stopped doing that once I finished the mission.
  10. They really aren't expecting us to deal with it. They already said they are releasing a pretty major patch in June, and they calim they will be supporting the game for a long time. I also just read that they hope to do some expansion packs in the future.
  11. I guess you would want it from Red Storm then Recon? If it was from Red Storm, it would've been a port just like every other game now, like Lockdown, and Call of Duty 2. I believe we all know what happened with Lockdown.
  12. Nice post, I have played AA before, but never noticed how many different settings they had for the server admins. I like that you can ban for a specific amount of time, like 5 minutes. I would also like a screen where you can restrict guns, or kits, so people could have like pistol only servers/ sniper only servers.
  13. Oh, another though, what other game in the last 3 years was released and was perfect? As far as I know, there were none, otherwise you, EMF Virus, would be playing it, and wouldn't be here.
  14. How long has [Ghost Recon] been out for? A few years? How long has GRAW been out for? A few weeks. [GR] had atleast 4 patches, and there were also 2 expansions. GRAW has had 1 hotfix so far. But I guess this game isn't for everyone, we don't want complainers here, so see ya and I won't miss ya.
  15. I think SLI and Crossfire will do much better with Windows Vista and DX10, right now it's best to get a single card.
  16. SLI doesn't increase frame rates good enough for the price/performance ratio IMO. With SLI you only get a 30% increase. The only thing ideal about SLI is that you can maintain better framerates at higher resolutions. So if your running 1024x768 then SLI isn't the way to go IMO. What kind of framerates are you getting? Use FRAPS to tell you how much.
  17. It's just gamespy. I patched and played earlier last night no problems, now you can't log into gamespy, don't blame Grin
  18. In time, right now I think they're more worried about fixing other bugs and finishing out the MP.
  19. The numbers are growing as more people play it.. The test will be how long it takes GRAW to taper off on multiplayer play. People have spent a few years waiting for this game while playing GR are whining for a reason. If it's not a huge let down to you, then go play it.. meanwhile i think the rest of us oldschool GR players deserve a little more than a crappy multiplayer game. I have a RAdeon 1800 and athlon 3500,, the game still is crap I'm not so sure you understand the position that GRIN is in. They were given a deadline of 1 year to create the game, and, they are releasing a patch in June that will hopefully fix some bugs and it will add more MP game types according to GRIN. How could you have spent a few years waiting for GRAW, when it was only announced like a year ago anyways?
  20. hmmm... what sequels out there for PC's are exactly like the first, note, I am saying SEQUELS. This is what GRAW is, isn't it? Everyone has their own taste, personally, there is no better tactical game out like it, so I continue to keep playing. tactical= Americas Army,Flashpoint, and VBS1 by far better than graw Cool, go play those then, I'm getting tired of people whining about how bad GRAW is, when it's really not, considering they only had one year to create it from nearly ground up. Most other games take 3 years to make.

  22. I am running 1GB of RAM with everything on high, and I never get any lag.
  23. Is that a Hiper Type-R PSu? If it is, I wouldn't recommend it, and here's why: http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/Hi...pict181912.html Granted that can happen to nearly any PSU, but those modular PSU's are something that people really need to stay away from, they haven't been too great besides the OCZ Modstream series. Ultra's modular PSU's have many issues, and Hiper's seem to as well. I would recommend purchasing an ANtec, OCZ, or PC Power & Cooling PSU.
