Let me get this right, you still need to launch the game to run a dedicated server?
Thus you need a vid card installed, and the original cd's in the cd drive or download it from d2d?
Please someone say i'm wrong here.

Anyone having issues launching their server now with the auto start scripts? It goes to a green screen and freezes for me.

Ok i let the server un and i check on it a few minutes laterand it says the user was disconnected from gamespy?
Does Gamespy know you guys are doing?

Having a ranking system is no big thing since as the game is played right now you can team kill as much as you want and get best marksman.
Yay for counter strike stats...
Now a ranking system will be cool when DM is in play.. Run and GUN!!!

Just out of curiosity will the dedi files allow us to control how much dabre is in the maps?

Escape twice, refreshes the weapon. I have something similar in domination. Sometimes when i pick extra modules for the x8 they don't appear on the gun in front of me, although i can use them and they appear as soon as i select them. 2 escapes refreshes this for me.
or is this something different then what i am saying?
Something differant i see what im using but i dont see the models that others are using.
Also they say the same about me if im running around with a pistol they see me running with my primary weapon..

I think it would be kinda cool if they added some of the physics from that old game that would let you shoot through every wall i forgot the name of it but it was a neat idea..

One more thing... set your rounds to 1
On domination servers if set to 3 or 5, after all maps are played, everyone gets put to a black screen. Server comes up with correct map in cycle and it shows players in but they never get past the black screen. I tested this again tonight and all peeps had the same issue.
No one can rejoin the server either untill you quit (not just abort) and bring it back up
If set to 1 round, it will cycle correctly.
I know Sticklan has talked about it. I'm not sure if he can say but if he can, can he confirm this is fixed in new patch?
I never have this problem on my servers.
One thing ive noticed that it likes to do though is after in finishes a full map cycle it likes to change ip's on the server.
Since my Server has 3 gigbit nics it with 3 static ip's it likes to switch to another one... CRAZY server..

Not sure if this has been posted anywere but ive noticed when a few of us were playing pistols only that even when they are using a pistol i still see a machine gun or basically anything that is there main weapon.
One time my buddy on my team took 3 shots with a pistol but i saw and heard the 50cal.
Anyone noticing this?

Probably no dedis in the june-patch but they will come, don't worry.
EDIT: Actually, I promise that the dedis will come, otherwise I eat up my underwear.

And since when does the number of players count as how good the game is? WoW has around 5 million and it's the worst MMORPG in history.

SO NO DEDICATED SERVER EXE ?? what a letdown GRIN, we thought you would of pushed Ubi to release a dedicated server.exe NOW IF ANYONE wants to run a GRAW game they have to have a full PC up to min spec just to act as SERVER.

At least we get a KICK BUTTON ....now can it be used on Ubi ???

Lets not get off on the wrong foot here BUT THERE IS A DIFFRENCE IN RUNNING A SERVER on a pc and running a dedicated server.exe WHICH IS NOT AVAILABLE
you do know what a dedicated server.exe is ?? as opposed to the game exe run in server mode ??
Considering i use linux on most of my Dedicated servers i think i know a little about what im talking about but your saying it like we Server admins have not already been using high end machines to run the semi dedicated servers for the community..
But we Have been this whole time i personnally have 2 seperate machines running server and its oh so wonderful to watch it use 50% of 1 CPU to run a game with no people in it..
with the dedicated server files when they appear hopefully i will ba able to use 1 box for 2 or 3 servers who knows...

Well for a while i thought the server just kept crashing but then i finally come to realize since my server has 3 gigabit NIC cards, with 3 differant static ip's the sever would randomly change ip's on a map switch kicking everyone out of the server.
WONDERFUL!!!!!!!
Sorry to everyone who plays in the Ghost Squad servers who have encountered this..

Its a flaw in the map a few of us From Ghost Squad have seen it and tested that you cannot shoot through it at least thats 1 good thing.

That they tested this at a LAN party first?
