My Server is Running on 45 meg upload i see it peaking at about 2 meg up with 26/26 players, Im not seeing lag or anything except on some of the players with a higher ping is there anyway to optimized this?

Ok, i know no one wants bunny hoppers in this game and being able to jump with all the gear is kind of a crazy idea but what about when your next to a small object or something being able to leap over or step over it but only if you are next to said object.
The main reason im asking this is cause im thinking of making a woodland map with downed trees and all but not being able to cross the tree might be a problem since sometimes being able to get from point A to point B directly would keep you alive versus having to go from A to B to C.
I think if possible this would make the world more interactive. Now im saying only have this action happen if your near an object of the right size that would be possible to step over.
Anyways...just a thought...if its not possible then i guess i can just limit my maps accordingly.
I Agree, cause i cant stand when im having problems goin up stairs because of the CAN that im tryin to step over makes me get stuck..

To Ban by IP dosnt make any sence, Most ISP's renew IP's to their customers every 2 weeks soooo in 2 weeks time the user can play again. and you cant exactly ban a whole block.
As for the Anti Cheat basically there is no way to totally stop it someone will always figure out a way around it. On my server i run ther current anti cheat and i know it dosnt work for poo and kicks every one for altered files but might as well use something they gave us since there not gonna give us what we want and need until the end of summer..

What's nice about having a Linux dedicated server, is that you can actuall block by IP address and then they will not have access to it at all...
You can actually do that from any server

Has anyone happen to find any files with server commands im looking for a way to kick players who have been causing problems in our servers and i know there is something out there that works just not sure what it is?
Can anyone help with this?

You guys made one hell of a dash to make a game the fans expected it to be and for this I thank you.... While the game was obviously pushed much before it was ready to go out... we can only blaim UBI for this.
This is apperent in most all UBI games to date and it wont be getting better anytime soon im afraid for the pc community.
GRIN keep up the good work.... Just be carefull next tme you have big problishers asking you to do stuff. If the game was pushed out last year november it surely wouldnt reflect the skill and talent you guys have. Its a shame you didnt have more time to keep working on it.
G.L. on your next project and I hope you guys dont let the publishers influence the games decissions to much. I think you guys could make a much better game next time.
I would love too see GRIN remodel GR1 with the new engine, but with same maps (and a few new ones added), same gameplay, gametypes, and weapons. I for one would purchase it without hesitation. It would be a better alternative for those of us who loved [GR]. How about it Grin, study [GR] and remodel it guys.
Thats exactly what they did with Counter Strike Source but more people still play 1.6 over source odd but true.

OK men we have lost this ship and this battle. This game had the potential and the community's input were did it go wrong, I don't know but is mainly the publisher's fault by giving the job to a team of guys with very little experience. I know Grin did their best, but their best wasn't good enough. I said it before no patches were going to fix this game. I know some of you will get upset but what else is there tell me. TDM is not going to save this game. It will be the same 200 players until they realize that it's a failure.
The only way we could get a true sequel is if the original dev team for GR makes another version.
You say 200 players well in 2 days of having stats running ive had over 275 unique connects to my servers i think the gaem will come around but who knows when.

even though there was only 6 players on one of the official servers yesterday, it ran remarkably well... for a while, and then they closed it down. ideally, those servers should be hosted on monster machines with insane bandwidth connections. we'll see...
We me and a few others went in one of there servers and it ran like it was using 2 cups and a string for internet connection..

Hi All,
Just been playing using the Clear Hud mod which involves some changes to the gui and also some extar settings in the LOCAL directory. Well the thing I liked about the clear hud was the hud itself and not necessarily all the other tweaks and such. So, joining a cheat enabled servers kicks me as it has differing files so I got rid of the LOCAL directory and left the GUI additional directory which has the main changes I needed and the cheat protection doesn;t worry about that.
A small issue with that then is, if I can use a clear hud by modified gui and it not be picked up as a cheat then surely someone can do other things to exploit this to their advantage (clear hud is not an advantage in gameplay but a more realistc view and slightly harder).
Thoughts ?
people Have been turning off there AC dude to Gamespy kicking cause of CD key so you may only be getting away with it because it is turned off

What i did to my servers is basically start the points at 1500 in the beginning they can get what they want but the rest needs to be earned..
Unlimited deaths is fun for now until the game runs good enough to use tactics.
Kinda sucks when all your deaths are waisted on Grenades and what not.

I did not start this post about nonsence ive been running one of the top servers in the community. I tried to play in one of the UBI servers last night cause mine were down AGAIN!!. and holy mother of lag spike, I gave it a chance im just asking for some simple fix to let me keep my servers running for the community till you guys make it more Adminable.
I thank you guys for the patch's and trying to get the game up to par but were not getting accurate testing with people running servers from there home DSL.

We have been working on this for quite some time, without finding an adecquate solution. It is in fact this bug that delayed the game from December to May.
Well the modders have found a way to disable it can you maybe just give a file to replace it that dosnt spin?
i would just rename it or something but i have no idea what file it is..

The only thing that disappoints me is they still made no way for use to run servers remotely? Is this done on Purpose? thanks to the modders who made us the autostart scripts but right now my server keep getting kicked off of game spy. Luckily My servers are hosted were i work so i can restart them all day as needed but as i leave tonight the servers then get to go down while im driving home and no chance to enjoy my low ping in my home server.
Sorry for the run ons.
If someone could update the autostart script Cheese would be a happy man.

I have Had alot of compliments on my server although my work dosnt offer dedicated servers yet. Im talking to the boss about adding some.
Hopefully soon and ill make sure everyone gets the best prices.
