  1. I have had good luck with boolean operations. I am also very careful to clean them up though, I think that makes the difference. There are alternatives to booleans of course but they are quite handy if you double check your work. I may have to try out this Sketchup thing though, thanks for the info.

once you get the hang of sketchup you will wonder how you ever managed to build a house in 3dsmax:)

I've downloaded google SketchUp but seems it can't exports in 3dsmax file format. It's true or I'm a blind man? :P

  2. we are reading and taking notes so keep em coming but I can say straight away that there wont be a uv editor, 3dsmax already has an excellent one:)

Yep, but my 3DSM6 student version expired recently and currently the student version or even fullversion is far too expensive! I'm certainly not the only one who can't afford a 3DSMax atm! :(

I don't know if this helps (I don't know anything about 3D modeling but....)

There's a remote possibilty that we can have the "diesel exporter" python script for Blender?:thumbsup::whistle:

  3. I don't think that will be possible at this point. I believe we will need the editor to change it.

mmm... if I'm not wrong, the devs said that we are able to increase the limit just by editing an xml file ...:angry:

they said people would be able to mod it. I don't remember ever reading how they said you could.

    ah okkey, nevermind then :P:g_withgrin:
