  1. Myself and a few other X1900 Crossfire users over at Ubi's forum noticed that we got WORSE fps when running Crossfire when compared to just 1 card. I came across this solution. All you have to do is change your "GRAW.exe" in your installed directory to "AFR-FriendlyD3D.exe" Myself and the others noticed almost a 2x increase in FPS with this fix! The original thread of discussion can be found here: http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc...13/m/9311005834
  2. This user over at the official GRAW forums found changing the "false" settings in the XML list to "true" gave huge increases in performance. This may be limited to systems with more than 1 gig RAM. I'm anxious to try this out since my single X1900 card outperforms 2 of them in Crossfire config currently. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc...13/m/3021017734
  3. Here's something else odd to think about. I have two X1900 cards in Crossfire configuration with an FX57 at 3ghz and 2 gigs ram. I get LESS FPS when running both cards in Crossfire compared to only 1 all by itself. Unbelievable. My system is stable in Crossfire mode verified by endless hours of BF2 and many loops of 3DMark '05. Nothing like spending another $500 to get less FPS. Something has got to be going on with the R580 in these X1900 cards. This review showed this clearly with the X1800 outperforming the X1900 at lower resolutions. It's nice to see that 8xAF doesn't hurt performance really at all. I've tried running everything on high settings with 8xAF at 1920x1200 and I get about 25FPS. Running the same settings with only 1 X1900 card gives about 30FPS. ATI or GRIN need to get on the ball with these issues because the 7900 GTX's in SLI configuration using alternate frame rendering seem to almost double their FPS when compared to only 1 card. Luckily this game doesn't require 60+FPS to be playable. The very slow movements of the players will likely allow most of us to handle 30-40FPS as playable. If this ATI issue isn't resolved soon, I'll be switching over to the 7900 GTXs since the X1900 have quite a nice resale value on eBay.
  4. I have X1900 Crossfire cards with a FX57 at 3ghz. I have run this game at 1920x1200 at high settings and 8xAF and get around 25FPS. I have also run it at 1600x1200 with medium settings and NO AF and get 29-30FPS. I have no idea what's going on here. I have confirmation from other single card X1900 users that they get around 40FPS with everything at high settings. Hopefully this demo version has some video optimizations left out because less than 30FPS on a high-end graphics systems is pathetic! I will look into finding something similar to the SLI Alternate Frame Rendering that SLI users have found give a nice bumps in FPS.
